Abstract

Peer Learning is a teaching and learning strategy that involves groups of students working together to solve a problem, complete a task, or create a product. Simply putting students in groups and telling them to work together does not mean they know how to work cooperatively. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of peer lesson learning strategies on learning outcomes in building construction subjects and land measurement techniques, concrete characteristics specification material, in class X students majoring in modeling design and building information of SMK Negeri 1 Lubuk Pakam. The study used quantitative research with experimental research type. The population amounted to 60 students; the research sample was taken by simple random sampling by taking two classes. Class X DPIB-A as the experimental class and class X DPIB-B as the control class. The instrument used to determine student learning outcomes is a multiple-choice test of 36 questions that have been tested for validity and reliability with point biseral correlation techniques. Data analysis used the t-test formula. The results showed that the average post-test score obtained from the experimental class was 75.35 with a high category of 73.33% and the control class was 61.46 with a sufficient category of 76.67%. From the results of the hypothesis testing analysis with a significance level of 5%, the post-test values of the two classes were calculated t_ count t_ table (6.27227 1.671) then Ha was accepted, so that a significant effect was obtained which showed that the learning outcomes of building construction and land measurement techniques were more effectively taught with peer lesson learning strategies than conventional learning models.

Abstract

Abstract

Sanitation is a critical component of tourism sustainability, influencing visitor satisfaction, public health, and destination competitiveness. In Indonesia, a country renowned for its diverse tourist attractions, sanitation management remains a pressing challenge. This review aims to critically analyze existing practices, identify challenges, and explore innovations in sanitation management across Indonesia's tourism destinations. Using a systematic review approach, data from peer-reviewed articles, government reports, and international tourism indices were synthesized to assess the current state of sanitation in Indonesia’s tourism sector. The findings reveal significant disparities in sanitation infrastructure between urban and rural tourist destinations, compounded by insufficient funding, low public awareness, and inconsistent policy implementation. Innovations such as eco-friendly waste management systems and public-private partnerships are emerging but face scalability and adoption barriers. Comparative analysis with neighboring Southeast Asian countries highlights Indonesia’s need for more comprehensive strategies to meet global sanitation standards. This review underscores the vital role of sanitation in enhancing tourist experiences, protecting environmental health, and improving Indonesia's competitiveness in the worldwide tourism market. Policy recommendations include targeted investment in sanitation infrastructure, community-based sanitation programs, and integration of hygiene standards into sustainable tourism strategies. Future research should further explore the intersection of sanitation, health outcomes, and tourism development to inform effective policymaking and destination management.

Abstract

Digital technical drawing competency based on AutoCAD proficiency represents an essential requirement for students pursuing construction-related vocational training to successfully transition into professional practice. This study reports on a community service intervention implemented at SMK Negeri 1 Lubuk Pakam, designed to systematically enhance students' competencies in digital technical drawing through hands-on AutoCAD training. The program engaged 26 Grade XI students specializing in Building Construction Engineering over a single training day. The instructional methodology integrated pre-assessment, instructor-led demonstration, structured laboratory-based practical training, and post-assessment evaluation. Comparative analysis of pre-test and post-test performance scores revealed substantive improvements in students' mastery of fundamental AutoCAD operations, 2D technical drawing procedures, layer organization protocols, and the application of technical dimensioning and annotation conventions. Qualitative feedback indicated that participants perceived the training as beneficial for their academic coursework completion and preparation for professional competency certification examinations. These findings substantiate the efficacy of intensive, hands-on AutoCAD training as a time-efficient and pedagogically sound intervention for advancing vocational students' technical competencies in digital drawing applications.
