Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui strategi yang digunakan oleh MIN 1 Langkat dalam meningkatkan sikap disiplin pada siswa. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah kualitatif deskriptif yang bertujuan memaparkan hasil penelitian melalui narasi. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa strategi yang dilakukan MIN 1 Langkat dalam meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa ialah melalui kegiatan apel pagi. Kegiatan apel pagi ini merupakan salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk menanamkan kebiasaan sikap disiplin pada siswa. Keberhasilan tersebut dapat dilihat dari berbagai hal diantaranya: seluruh siswa yang selalu datang tepat waktu dan tidak terlambat datang ke sekolah. Begitu juga dengan para guru dan staff yang selalu datang tepat waktu. Para guru selalu datang lebih awal setiap pagi hari untuk menyambut para siswa di depan gerbang dengan bersapa, salam dan senyum kepada siswa. Kegiatan apel pagi di MIN 1 Langkat diisi dengan melafalkan surah-surah pendek dan bersholawat bersama-sama.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the science learning outcomes of students by applying the project based learning model in class V MIS AL Huda, Langkat. This type of research is quasi-experimental with a pretest and posttest control group design. The population of this study was all students in class V of MIS AL Huda, Langkat, totaling 30 students. The sampling technique used was probability sampling with a stage random sampling technique, namely 30 students were sampled as part of the population. The instrument used is a test sheet to measure student learning outcomes. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis with the independent sample test. Based on the results of the descriptive analysis, the average obtained for the two groups, in the control class before and after implementing the project based learning model, was a pretest score of 54.33 and a posttest score of 76.33. In the experimental class by applying the project based learning model, the pretest average was 43.33 and the posttest average was 71.33. Based on the results of the independent sample-test, it shows that the t test value with a sig value < a = 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05) indicates that H1 is accepted. The results of the research show that there is a significant difference between the experimental class (VA) applying the project based learning model and the control class (VB) on science learning outcomes for MIS AL Huda, Langkat students.

Abstract

This study explores the role of the school library in enhancing students’ reading interest. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation to examine library activities, reading habits, and available collections. Findings reveal that the library plays a significant role in promoting reading culture, though its function is not yet optimal due to limited space, a lack of updated collections, and librarians’ multiple responsibilities. Despite these constraints, the library remains an essential learning resource for students who demonstrate consistent reading habits. Factors that most influence students’ reading interest include collection diversity, room comfort, regular literacy programs, and support from teachers and librarians. Challenges such as competition with gadgets and limited book variety can be addressed through new acquisitions, donation programs, and digital resource utilization. Overall, well-managed libraries supported by all school elements effectively foster students’ reading culture. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran perpustakaan sekolah dalam meningkatkan minat baca siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi untuk mengetahui aktivitas perpustakaan, kebiasaan membaca siswa, serta koleksi yang tersedia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perpustakaan memiliki peran penting dalam menumbuhkan budaya membaca, meskipun fungsinya belum optimal karena keterbatasan ruang, koleksi buku yang kurang mutakhir, dan tugas ganda pustakawan. Meskipun demikian, perpustakaan tetap menjadi sumber belajar utama bagi siswa yang memiliki kebiasaan membaca secara konsisten. Faktor yang paling berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan minat baca antara lain keberagaman koleksi, kenyamanan ruang, kegiatan literasi rutin, serta dukungan guru dan pustakawan. Hambatan seperti persaingan dengan gawai dan keterbatasan koleksi dapat diatasi melalui pengadaan buku baru, program donasi, serta pemanfaatan sumber digital. Secara keseluruhan, perpustakaan yang dikelola dengan baik dan mendapat dukungan seluruh elemen sekolah mampu menumbuhkan budaya membaca di kalangan siswa.
