Abstract

Self-esteem is an evaluation conducted by an individual, particularly the tendency to pay attention to oneself according to the mentality of acceptance or rejection, which indicates the level of an individual's confidence in their abilities, interests, achievements, and worth. Group guidance services function to enable individuals to plan for themselves, decide their own direction, and foster a mentality and perspective to live freely without depending on others. This study aims to determine the feasibility of group guidance services utilizing homeroom techniques to enhance students' self-esteem. The research method used is quantitative experimental with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study consisted of all tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 7 Medan, totaling 159 individuals, with a sample of 8 students who had low self-esteem. The sample was taken using purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon test with a significance value of asyimp.sig (2-tailed) 0.012 < 0.05, meaning Ha is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that group guidance services with homeroom techniques are effective in increasing students' self-esteem.

Abstract

Mahasiswa harus menyelesaikan tugas akhir selama menempuh pendidikan sarjana, dan sering menghadapi hambatan serta tantangan yang dapat menyebabkan kecemasan terkait kemungkinan tidak lulus tepat waktu. Layanan konseling individual bertujuan mengubah cara berpikir mahasiswa akhir yang mengalami kecemasan terhadap tugas akhir dengan menggunakan pendekatan Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), yang memandang kecemasan sebagai perilaku negatif dan berdampak buruk bagi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi kecemasan mahasiswa akhir sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan serta pengaruh layanan konseling individual dengan pendekatan CBT dalam mengurangi kecemasan tidak lulus tepat waktu. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian Pre-Experimental, menggunakan desain one group pretest posttest. Subjek penelitian dipilih dengan metode purposive sampling, terdiri dari lima mahasiswa jurusan Bimbingan Konseling Pendidikan Islam dengan tingkat kecemasan tinggi, yang dilakukan di Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah skala kecemasan model Likert, dan data dianalisis menggunakan teknik statistik non-parametrik dengan Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test serta dibantu dengan SPSS versi 20.00. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai Asymp Sig (2-tailed) lebih kecil dari 0,05, yaitu 0,043, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa layanan konseling individual dengan pendekatan CBT efektif untuk mengatasi kecemasan tidak lulus tepat waktu pada mahasiswa akhir. Implikasi dari hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan CBT dapat digunakan sebagai intervensi efektif dalam layanan konseling untuk mengurangi kecemasan mahasiswa akhir, yang pada akhirnya membantu mereka menyelesaikan tugas akhir dengan lebih baik.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of cyber counseling to improve students' self-regulated learning (SRL). This research method uses a pretest-posttest control group design. Data was collected by using self-regulated learning scale, which had been validated and its reliability had been measured. The research population were 195 students with 8 students selected using purposive sampling as its sample. The data analysis technique uses the t-test. The results of this research reveal that cyber counseling is effective in improving students' SRL as seen from the difference in the average of SRL’s score between students who were given cyber counseling and students who were not given cyber counseling.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of individual counseling services with a reality counseling approach in increasing self-acceptance in children in orphanages. The study used an experimental method with a Pre-Experiment model and The One Group Pretest and post-test design. The population in this study was all 378 orphanage children, and the subjects used in the study were five orphanage children using a purposive random sampling technique. Self-acceptance was measured using a Likert scale before and after the counseling intervention. The primary data source used in the study was the test results from 5 informants (children in orphanages), and secondary data using sources relevant to the study. Data collection techniques used observation, tests, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test to test for significant differences between the pretest and posttest. The results showed that individual counseling services with a reality counseling approach significantly increased children's self-acceptance. Through a series of counseling sessions, children learn to face the realities of their lives more positively and adaptively, develop higher self-awareness, and build effective coping skills. These findings provide important contributions to the fields of psychology and counseling, especially in helping children in orphanages develop self-acceptance and face life challenges more optimistically. Although this study has limitations, such as a small sample size, the results provide a strong basis for similar interventions in the future.

Abstract

Adolescence is a transition from childhood to adulthood. At this stage of development, the younger generation must master social growth which is one of the tasks of development. When adolescents are unable to complete these developmental tasks, they feel rejected, alienated, and even equal. Children in orphanages also feel this loneliness. It's not uncommon for loneliness to make people think irrationally. REBT views equality as a result of individuals' irrational thinking. This type of research is pre-experimental research using a one group pretest and posttest design. Subjects were selected using the purposive sampling method. The subjects of this research were 5 (five) children from an orphanage with a high level of loneliness. The instrument used is a scale equivalent to the Likert scale model. Data were collected and processed using the non-parametric statistical technique Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test with SPSS. In the validity and reliability test of the 20 statement items, there were 16 statement items that were valid for use with the result of the r table value at the 5% significance level being 0.2353, where the item could be said to be valid if the calculated r was > than r table. Furthermore, in the reliability test using the SPSS program, Cronbrach Alpha data was obtained with a value of 0.661, which is if the Cronbrach Alpha value is greater than 0.05 (0.661>0.05). The results of this study indicate that the significant value of asymp. signature. (2-tailed) < 0.05, namely 0.039. Thus, it is concluded that individual counseling services using the REBT approach are effective in reducing feelings of loneliness for children in orphanages.

Abstract

Interaksi manusia dalam masyarakat beserta prosesnya merupakan perhatian sosial yang mana mempelajari perilaku sosial, sehingga mengamati interaksi manusia dalam keluarga dan masyarakat merupakan realitas sosial yang sangat penting. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas layanan konseling individu menggunakan teknik Cognitive Restructuring dalam mengatasi inner child pada orang tua single parent. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pemberian pre-test dan post-test dengan menggunakan instrumen skala yang mengukur aspek-aspek inner child, yang telah teruji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari satu kelompok eksperimen, dengan sampel 5 orang tua siswa single parent yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling yang dilaksanakan di sekolah SMP Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan, Penelitian ini menggunakan desain satu kelompok pretest-posttest (one group pretest-posttest design) untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh layanan konseling individu terhadap pengurangan dampak luka emosional yang berkaitan dengan inner child Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, layanan konseling individu dengan teknik Cognitive Restructuring efektif dalam mengatasi gejala inner child pada orang tua single parent. Hasil pre-test post-test dan menunjukkan perubahan signifikan, di mana orang tua single parent yang awalnya memiliki inner child tinggi dan sangat tinggi berpindah ke kategori sedang, hal ini menunjukan bahwasanya layanan konseling individu dengan teknik cognitive restructuring berpengaruh dalam mengurangi inner child pada orang tua single parent.
