Abstract

Education enhances human resources, but Indonesian educational institutions face challenges, mainly in management. Effective human resource management involves planning, organizing, directing, and controlling resources. Quality education relies on teachers' classroom management and understanding of student needs. Guidance and counseling are essential, requiring coordination with school programs. The COVID-19 pandemic shifted learning online, highlighting inadequacies in managing counseling services and exacerbating learning loss, especially for students lacking internet access. Addressing learning loss demands comprehensive strategies, including counselor training, technological improvements, and proactive student and parent involvement. This research aims to design an effective counseling program at SMA Negeri 15 Maluku Tengah to address learning loss. In this qualitative research, data analysis involves collecting, simplifying, and presenting relevant information from observations, interviews, and documentation to draw conclusions, ensuring an interactive process aiding in addressing research questions and identified issues. Effective counseling and guidance at SMA Negeri 15 Maluku Tengah require comprehensive planning, involving students and parents to meet students' needs. A well-organized, structured team and regular evaluation are crucial for improving the program, helping students overcome learning loss, enhancing motivation, and achieving better academic performance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the influence of the role of the principal on teaching motivation, (2) the effect of the use of instructional media on teacher teaching motivation, (3) the effect of the role of the principal and use of instructional media jointly on teacher teaching motivation in public junior high schools in the district of Bula, East Seram regency. This type of research is expost-facto using quantitative methods. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire or a Likert distribution questionnaire. The population as well as the sample in this study were all 69 PNS/Non PNS school principals and teachers from 3(three) public junior high schools in Bula District, East Seram Regency. The results showed that: 1) the role of the school principal (X1) had an effect on teachers’ teaching motivation (Y) by 6.3% based on (R square) of 0.063, (2) The use of instructional media (X2) had an effect on teachers’ teaching motivation (Y) of 23.6% besed on (R square) of 0,236, and (3) the role of the school principal (X1) and the use of instructional media (X2) has an effect on teacher motivation (Y) of 23,7% based on (R square) of 0.237. Based on the results of the reseach conducted, the variabel of the role of the school principal and use of learning media should be increased in order to increase the motivation to teach teachers in public junior high schools in Bula District, East Seram Regency.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) To find out the character education planning at SMA Negeri 13 Ambon. (2) To find out the organization of character education at SMA Negeri 13 Ambon. (3) To find out the implementation of character education at SMA Negeri 13 Ambon. (4) To find out the supervision of character education at SMA Negeri 13 Ambon. (5) To find out the factors that support and detain character education at SMA Negeri 13 Ambon. The results of this research are: (1) Educational character management planning at SMA Negeri 13 Ambon begins with a program planning meeting at the beginning of the year involving all school components including the principal, vice principal for curriculum, student affairs, infrastructure, public relations, treasurer, education staff and education and school committees. The meeting discussed determining the goals of character education, preparing programs and integrating character values ​​to students. (2) The organization of character education for students of SMA Negeri 13 Ambon was carried out based on a Decree from the principal to all stakeholders of SMA Negeri 13 Ambon, with regard to what, where and when the activities will be carried out, why it must be implemented, and how to implement it. (3) The implementation of character education at SMA Negeri 13 Ambon was carried out in integrative way by all teachers including the principal. (4) Supervision of character education at SMA Negeri 13 Ambon was carried out by internal and external supervisors. The internal supervisor is the principal, assisted by the vice principal, while the external supervisor is a school supervisor assigned by the Educational Office. The Implementation is carried out in accordance with their responsible and functions, based on the instrument of supervision activities, both monitoring and evaluation. (5) The supporting factor for character education management in SMA Negeri 13 Ambon is, there is a coordination between the principal and the vice principal, teachers and staffs in implementing various models, methods and learning strategies in character education in teaching and learning process, inside and outside the classroom, supported with adequate infrastructure. The only factor detaining the management of character education in SMA Negeri 13 Ambon is the lack of self-awareness of certain subject teachers.

Abstract

The Influence of School Principals' Leadership and Managerial Skills on Teachers' Performance at SMK Negeri Kabupaten Seram Bagian Timur” Given the increasingly complex challenges in the field of vocational education, the role of the principal as a leader and manager becomes crucial for enhancing teacher performance effectiveness. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a survey instrument (questionnaire). Data were collected using a questionnaire distributed to 105 teachers in State Vocational High Schools in Seram Bagian Timur Regency and analyzed using descriptive and inferential analysis. The variables studied include independent variables, namely Principal Leadership (X1) and Principal Managerial Ability (X2), and the dependent variable, which is Teacher Performance (Y)

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara kepulauan dengan luas wilayah laut lebih dari 75% yang mencapai 5.8 juta km2 , terdapat lebih dari 17.500 pulau dengan panjang garis pantai sekitar 81.000 km (Manapa, 2010, p. 49). Letak yang strategis dan kekayaan laut pulau yang begitu banyak tidak membuat Indonesia menjadi negara kaya. Masih banyak rakyat Indonesia mengalami kemiskinan. Kurangnya pemanfaatan dan peduli terhadap lingkungan laut pulau ini menghambat Indonesia menjadi negara maju. Hal ini dilihat dari Kualitas sumber daya manusia yang masih menyebabkan tingkat pengangguran di Indonesia semakin tinggi. Tingginya tingkat pengangguran mencerminkan bahwa sampai saat ini mutu lulusan belum mampu memenuhi tuntutan dunia kerja. Salah satu pendidikan yang seharusnya menciptakan lulusan yang memiliki kompetensi keahlian profesional adalah pendidikan kejuruan, namun sepertinya tujuan tersebut belum sepenuhnya tercapai. Berdasarkan kenyataan tersebut, menjadi tanggung jawab dunia pendidikan khususnya pendidikan vokasi untuk dapat menghasilkan lulusan yang kompeten. Oleh karena itu kompetensi yang akan dikembangkan melalui proses pembelajaran harus merujuk pada kompetensi yang dibutuhkan oleh dunia industry. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dan data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian yang dilaksanakan di Negeri Mamala, peneliti mendapatkan berbagai Analisis kebutuhan pendidikan vokasional yang menjadi urgen dalam data wawacara di temui kurang lebih ada lima kebutuhan yang menjadi urgen di Negeri Mamala di antaranya yaitu : (1) Ketrampilan penggunaan IT bagi perangkat desa mamala dan tenaga guru di sekolah PAUD dan SD Muhamadiyah, (2) Kesadaran masyarakat yang masih minim dalam membuang sampah pada tempatnya, (3) Manajemen tata kelola di pemerintahan Negeri Mamala, (4) Calistung, (5) Kegiatan usaha di laut pulau yang masih bersifat produksi tradisional yang dikembangkan.
