Abstract

Early writing skills are a critical aspect in a child's language development. This article provides an overview of early writing skills and identifies several challenges often encountered in developing writing abilities among children. The importance of early writing skills as the foundation for language learning and communication is the main focus. This stage involves introducing letter forms, fine motor training, and the ability to connect simple letters into meaningful words. Proficient writing skills serve as the basis for more complex language abilities in the future. However, there are several challenges faced in developing early writing skills in children. One of them is the lack of attention from parents and educators regarding the importance of these writing skills. Insufficient support and appropriate stimulation during the initial learning stage can hinder a child's writing development. Additionally, another challenge is the difficulty experienced by some children in overcoming fine motor obstacles. Their untrained hand-eye coordination makes it challenging to form letters clearly and neatly.

Abstract

This classroom action research is an effort to increase student learning participation in science learning using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. Based on the pre-cycle scores, it is known that of the 24 students there were only 6 students who met the score > KKM (75) while 18 of them had the score < KKM (75). Based on the scores in cycle 1 of my material and my needs, it is known that of the 24 students there were only 12 students who met the score > KKM (75) while 12 of them had the score < KKM (75). If examined carefully, this score of 75 was only obtained by a small number of students in the class. So if it is a percentage, it is very far below the specified percentage of total student completion, namely 75% of the total number of students. For this reason, it is very necessary to improve the deficiencies in cycle I learning through the implementation of cycle II actions. Based on the scores in cycle 2 of the material on how do I meet my needs, it is known that of the 24 students there are only 17 students who meet the score > KKM (75) while 7 of them have the score < KKM (75).

Abstract

Cultural diversity in Indonesia, including ethnicity, religion, and race, makes it a rich country, but if not managed wisely, it can lead to conflict. Therefore, it is important to teach and appreciate cultural diversity to the younger generation, including through IPS education in elementary schools. The aim of this research is to explore the integration of multicultural aspects in IPS learning in elementary schools by combining theory and comprehensive multicultural education implementation in the elementary school environment. This research method employs qualitative literature research with secondary data from various sources such as books, journals, and documents, using philosophical and pedagogical approaches. The research steps include introduction, body, and conclusion, and utilize relevant literature sources such as academic articles and books. The research findings suggest that multicultural education in Indonesia aims to build an inclusive learning environment that emphasizes values such as respect, honesty, and tolerance in addressing cultural and racial intolerance issues. Through the Social Sciences subject, this education builds the mental resilience of students to manage social conflicts and cultivate individuals who do not prioritize primordialism or ethnocentrism.
