Abstract

Human disregard for the environment leads to environmental issues that exacerbate natural disasters. One of the most crucial elements in developing good character in pupils is their lack of recognizing the requirement of defending the environment. In order for nation"™s future country, especially the students of SMAN 13 Surabaya, to be good citizens and people of character, they must learn the importance of protecting the environment. Descriptive qualitative research is being conducted to find out how environmentally caring character values are taught to students, how teachers can help students develop these values, and what supports and prevents the application of environmentally caring character values at SMAN 13 Surabaya. Study participants were SMAN 13 Surabaya instructors and students. gathering information through documentation, interviews, and observation. The outcomes proved that the character values of environmental care were successfully implemented for grade XI students at SMAN 13 Surabaya. It is obvious in the ways that it grows in accordance with signs, such as students bringing water bottles from home, riding motorcycles in the morning, and putting trash in the proper location. The teacher's job is to provide an example, instill habits, and provide direction. The involvement of school personnel, the infrastructure and facilities, and the environmental activities' habituation are the supporting aspects. The impact of student living and the lack of time for maintaining the environment are the barriers.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of the ethno-nationalist-based Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) model to increase the value of patriotism and discipline in children through meta-analysis. The inclusion criteria in this study are a) research data obtained from Google Scholar; ERIC, ProQuest, Wiley, DOAJ and Springer, b) research must be indexed by SINTA, Scopus or journal indexing portals managed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Technology equivalent to DOAJ, EBSCO and Index Copernicus, c) the topic must be relevant, d) research published in 2022-2024, e) research publications must have a value of (r), (t), or (F), f) research samples must be more than 25 children. The meta-analysis research uses the JASP application for data analysis. The results of the study concluded that there was a significant influence of the effectiveness of the Ethno-nationalist-Based Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning Model on the value of character of love for the homeland and discipline in children with a strong influence category (p< 0.001; rRE = 1.034). Furthermore, in this study, no publication bias was detected so that it can be scientifically accounted for. These findings show that the Effectiveness Model of Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning Based on Ethno-nationalism is effective in increasing the Character Values of Love for the Fatherland and Discipline in Children.
