Abstract

Background: Overweight is a physical condition caused by excessive accumulation of fat in the body due to an imbalance between food intake consumed and energy expended during bodily activities. Low physical activity has the potential to lead to obesity, especially when it starts as a child. The activities of children and adolescents are currently more playing gadgets and watching TV so that they have the potential to cause obesity. Overweight is a serious problem in Indonesia. This is because obesity will increase the risk of cardiovascular disease such as enlarged blood vessels, heart failure, stroke, fatty liver and hardening of the liver. Complications that can occur in overweight are heart attack, type II diabetes, stroke, hypertension, sleep apnea and breathing problems. To overcome the problematic consequences of being overweight are yin yoga and plank exercises. Yin yoga is currently one of the exercises that can reduce levels of fat in the body (burn bad calories in the body), relax the mind, and control breathing. Meanwhile, plank exercise is used to increase muscle strength. Plank movements help strengthen the muscles of the arms, shoulders, abdomen, legs, can also increase stability, and can burn up to 12 kcal of calories per round (healthy). This activity was carried out by physiotherapy students at the Lubuk Pakam Medistra Health Institute in the 2023 program with the aim of introducing the benefits of Yin yoga and plank exercises in overcoming and preventing the incidence of overweight among Physiotherapy students at the Lubuk Pakam Medistra Health Institute in 2023.

Abstract

Adolescence is a period when a person experiences a transition from child to adult which The incidence of delayed child development in Indonesia is 10%. This delay in growth and development is related to the baby's brain development, such as genetic factors, health and nutritional status, the quality of interaction between mother and child, and environmental conditions. Baby's motor development is a phase of baby's development according to age. The child's limited time in motor learning and excessive parental attention as well as low child motivation and stimulation are the triggers for delays. Tummy time is a type of stimulant that influences the motor development of newborn babies. Tummy time is useful in improving the baby's development in positions such as lying on his stomach or back, rolling over, crawling, and preventing brachycephaly. PkM activities were carried out at the Pagar Jati Community Health Center where the PkM participants were mothers with toddlers who were determined using a total sampling method of 15 people. Implementation of PkM is carried out through socialization, demonstrations, discussions and questions and answers. To measure the initial knowledge and increase in knowledge of PkM participants before and after implementing PkM, pre and post-tests will be given. The PkM results show that Tummy time can influence the gross motor development of normal babies with a correlation value of 0.932 and a significance of 0.000. The average pre-test score for PkM participants was 5.6 and post-test was 7.7. If the differences are calculated, an average score increase of 2.1 is obtained, which means that this PkM activity succeeded in increasing the knowledge and abilities of PkM participants regarding tummy time and gross motor development.

Abstract

The problem of nurse performance is still an issue in various countries. The performance of nurses always attracts attention in Indonesia. The Province of North Sumatra even stated that the performance of nurses decreased, from 0.52 in 2013 to 0.48 in 2014, and continued to decline until 2015. Good nurse performance is a determining factor for the reputation of a hospital before the community in achieving success. Supervision by the head of the nurse's work unit is a problem related to the nurse's performance appraisal process. This study uses a quantitative approach, observational, with a cross-sectional design. The research sample consisted of 64 nurses in the Inpatient Installation of Aek Kanopan Hospital who were selected according to the criteria. The research data obtained were analyzed using univariate analysis which aims to describe the frequency distribution related to supervision data, Nurse Work Performance, and Patient Safety Implementation. Bivariate analysis which aims to prove the relationship between supervision and nurse performance on the implementation of patient safety uses Pearson's correlation with a 95% confidence level. There is a relationship between clinical supervision on the overall performance of nurses with a Pearson Chi-Square value = 5.146 and a p = 0.023 (p <0.05). In addition, there is also a relationship between the overall performance of inpatient nurses on the implementation of inpatient safety, with a Pearson Chi-Square value of 12.292 and a value of p = 0.000* (p <0.05). The better the performance of the nurse in the inpatient room, the implementation of inpatient patient safety will also be better.
