Abstract

During the puerperium, anemia can occurs in mothers who had lower than nor-mal hemoblobin levels. This condition could caused iron loss, onterfere with the lactatio process, anda cause the uterus to fail to contract because not enough blood enters oxygen to the uterus. The strongest factor causing post partum ane-mia was blood loss during delivery, both moderate and large. Events that cause the mother to lose moderate to large amounts of blood, nameli interventions dur-ing labor such as episiotomy, delivery using a vacuum; third or fourth degree perineal laceration; and caesarean section. The provision of non-drug therapy that can be given to increase hemoglobin levels was to provide iron containing nutrients. The research aim to determine the effect of bangun-bangun leaf  juice on hemoglobin levels for postpartum mother in the Working area of Puskesmas Talun Kenas. This research was a type of quantitative research that is quasi-experiment. The population of this study is all postpartummothers in the work area of Puskesmas Talun Kenas. The samples obtained were 25 people with accidental sampling technique. The statistical test used was the paired sample t test, with a 95% confidence level (? = 0,05). The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of bangun-bangun leaf juice on hemoglobin levels in postpartum mothersin the working area of Puskesmas Talun Kenas (p vaue 0,000). So it was expected that the health center could informed the mother about the benefits of bangun-bangun leaf juice in increasing maternal hemoglobin levels during the postpartum period which can informed during antenatal care visits or during home visits for postpartum mother.

Abstract

The Family Planning (KB) program has a role in reducing the population's birth rate so that fertility and birth rates can be controlled. Regulating the spacing of pregnancies, birth spacing, and determining the number of children in a family are expected to reduce population growth. The family planning program was initiated by the government to reduce the population explosion. Many factors influence couples of childbearing age in choosing the right contraception. For example, the weight factor changes due to use, and experiencing allergies. Some of the mothers also set the time of birth. Implants are very effective but still quite low. Where the implant can be removed at any time, is not dangerous, and does not affect sexual activity. Service activities are carried out through lectures, discussions, and education methods. The number of participants in this PkM activity was 10 health workers at the Gonting Malaha Health Center. The activity begins with the provision of pretest and posttest which are presented in written form and are of course related to the material to be taught. The results of PkM activities through education show that it is the low knowledge factor that causes couples not to choose implant contraception, namely 60%. Knowledge, education, and parity factors influence couples in choosing implant contraception with a p-value less than 0.05. PkM participant post-test scores always increased after being given education with the highest increase of 25% and the lowest increase of 20%. The average increase in knowledge of all PkM participants increased to 23% when compared to the beginning. So it can be stated that this PKM activity has succeeded in educating PKM participants in knowing the factors of partners in choosing implant contraception.

Abstract

Adolescence is a period when a person experiences a transition from child to adult which The incidence of delayed child development in Indonesia is 10%. This delay in growth and development is related to the baby's brain development, such as genetic factors, health and nutritional status, the quality of interaction between mother and child, and environmental conditions. Baby's motor development is a phase of baby's development according to age. The child's limited time in motor learning and excessive parental attention as well as low child motivation and stimulation are the triggers for delays. Tummy time is a type of stimulant that influences the motor development of newborn babies. Tummy time is useful in improving the baby's development in positions such as lying on his stomach or back, rolling over, crawling, and preventing brachycephaly. PkM activities were carried out at the Pagar Jati Community Health Center where the PkM participants were mothers with toddlers who were determined using a total sampling method of 15 people. Implementation of PkM is carried out through socialization, demonstrations, discussions and questions and answers. To measure the initial knowledge and increase in knowledge of PkM participants before and after implementing PkM, pre and post-tests will be given. The PkM results show that Tummy time can influence the gross motor development of normal babies with a correlation value of 0.932 and a significance of 0.000. The average pre-test score for PkM participants was 5.6 and post-test was 7.7. If the differences are calculated, an average score increase of 2.1 is obtained, which means that this PkM activity succeeded in increasing the knowledge and abilities of PkM participants regarding tummy time and gross motor development.

Abstract

Introduction: Infant motor development is crucial because it bridges the movements that occur during life, produces perceptual information, provides a means to gain knowledge about the world, and allows social interaction. If the basic motor stage is not passed, then there will be obstacles in motor development. Early stimulation will be needed to optimize the growth and development of children according to their stages naturally. Tummy time is one obvious form of early stimulation for muscle tone, posture, and later development. Objective: To determine the relationship between tummy time and gross motor development of normal infants in the breastfeeding community in Denpasar. Methods: An observational study using an analytical cross-sectional study, involving 30 respondents from the breastfeeding mother community in Denpasar. Primary data was obtained through a google form using the WhatsApp blast. Data analysis used Spearman rank correlation test. Results: Showed a significant relationship between the variable doing tummy time and the variable gross motor development sitting in normal infants, whether it was seen from the strong or not the correlation (with very strong results because the correlation coefficient was close to 1), the significance of the correlation results was 0.000 (less than 0.01 and 0.05) and the direction of the correlation is positive. So, Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted. Conclusion: Tummy time is proven to have a close relationship with the achievement of normal infant gross motor development with reference to the ability to sit at the age of six months. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended to do tummy time as a form of stimulation to achieve gross motor development of babies that the public needs to know.

Abstract

Bronchial asthma is a condition of chronic inflammation of the respiratory tract which triggers bronchial hyperactivity resulting in a feeling of heaviness in the chest and shortness of breath. Asthma patients panic easily by breathing as hard as possible when shallow and short inspirations occur. If asthma occurs for a long duration, apnea will occur and in the worst case it can result in death for the sufferer. Procedures via nebulization using the semi-Fowler position in patients with bronchial asthma can affect respiratory frequency. Nebulizer administration is a type of medication directly on targets such as the lungs so that this action can be carried out more quickly and effectively. The method in this research uses a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test type by selecting bronchial asthma patients as respondents/sample of 15 participants who were determined using the total sampling method. Research data was collected using an observation sheet instrument containing data regarding respiratory frequency. After the intervention was given, the respondents showed that there was a decrease in respiratory frequency until it was at the normal threshold. Data analysis using a paired T-Test shows that the p-value is 0.000, which means that nebulization in the semi-Fowler position can affect the respiratory frequency of bronchial asthma patients at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital. It seems that administering nebulization in a semi-Fowler's position could be an appropriate choice in treating bronchial asthma patients in order to achieve better respiratory health.

Abstract

The habit of consuming coffee can be one of the triggers for gastritis, because the caffeine content in it can stimulate increased production of stomach acid. This causes excess gas to accumulate in the stomach, which often causes complaints such as bloating, nausea, and pain in the pit of the stomach. Individuals who regularly consume coffee are at greater risk of suffering from gastritis than those who do not consume it. This research will analyze the perception and impact of coffee consumption patterns on gastritis in Generation Z at Nurse Station 2D, Grandmed Hospital, Lubuk Pakam. The method used is quantitative research with a Cross-Sectional Study design. The study population was patients in the Inpatient Room 2D of Grandmed Hospital, where the sample was selected using purposive sampling. The results of the Chi-Square test showed a p value of 0.003, which means that there is a relationship between coffee consumption patterns and the risk of gastritis in patients in the Inpatient Room 2D, Grandmed Hospital, Lubuk Pakam.

Abstract

Coffee is one of the most favored beverages globally, including in Indonesia. High work pressure and busy daily activities have encouraged increased coffee consumption, particularly among Generation Z, to maintain alertness and performance. However, excessive coffee intake may elevate the risk of gastritis. Gastritis is an inflammation of the gastric mucosa, which can be triggered by various factors, including high caffeine consumption. This Community Service (PkM) program aimed to raise awareness among Generation Z regarding the potential risk of gastritis due to uncontrolled coffee intake. The activity was conducted using a participatory educational approach, enabling participants to engage actively in the learning process. Educational content was delivered through lectures, discussions, and the distribution of informative leaflets to enhance participants’ knowledge. The activity began with a pre-test and concluded with a post-test to assess knowledge improvement. The participants consisted of Generation Z adolescents aged 17 to 25, who were visitors or interns at Grandmed Hospital, Lubuk Pakam. The results revealed that 17 participants (85%) regularly consumed at least one cup of coffee daily, and 15 participants (75%) frequently experienced gastric discomfort following coffee consumption. After the educational session, there was an average knowledge increase of 28.5 points, and 19 participants (95%) showed improved scores and expressed satisfaction with the PkM program. This community service activity has proven effective in increasing public awareness, promoting proper coffee consumption behavior, and potentially reducing the risk of gastritis.
