Abstract

In essence, Islam was revealed to elevate the dignity of every woman who was previously oppressed by the tradition of the Jahiliya community before the 6th century AD. In the context of humanities, Islam does not justify discrimination between men and women. One form of anti-discrimination against women is the recommendation to wear the hijab (the use of a veil). The presence of the hijab is intended to safeguard the respect of women but raises another issue, namely the right to freedom. However, the purpose of hijab for Muslim women has almost always been problematic due to their position in two circumstances: benefited or harmed. The hijab is often understood as an attempt to suppress women's lives. The role of hijab in the era of globalization today is still relatively small; the powerlessness of women in the industrial world is influenced by the social construction that tends to represent women who are only suitable for the domestic sector. The influences of the mass media on the image of women who wear the hijab also cover the voices of the group so that public perceptions generally believe that this condition is proper. As a conceptual study, this article examines the position of the hijab in the current era of globalization and its relationship to media and popular culture. This study uses a document analysis method. The data collected are excerpts from document manuscripts, research journals, and scientific articles.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the influence of political communication on public trust in the early post-election leadership period in Indonesia, which is often referred to as the honeymoon period. It also aims to address a gap in existing studies by emphasizing the strategic importance of political communication in this critical stage of governmental transition. This study uses a quantitative approach, and the primary data source is represented by the dataset of the Populix survey on?social media users X and TikTok, as well as additional data collected independently, such as scientific articles, news, and website information. The supplemental material was coded?via NVivo 12 Plus by adopting the method of systematic coding. These findings indicate that transparent, open, and interactive political communication is very important in building public trust in new leaders after the elections in Indonesia. Factors such as transparency, openness of information, and effective use of social media and digital platforms are key to strengthening legitimacy and public support while maintaining political stability in democratic consolidation. Furthermore, the public satisfaction levels in the different sectors in?the first 100 days of leadership also indicate a positive relationship between responsive political communication and support and the new government’s legitimacy.

Abstract

Civil-military relations in Indonesia have experienced ups and downs during several periods of government, namely since the old order, new order, and reform order eras. Military involvement in the political sphere during the new order government has sparked criticism of the professionalism of the Indonesian National Army, as it is considered to have been used as a tool to maintain power through repressive actions. This study uses qualitative methods with literature review techniques to analyze the state of civil-military relations in Indonesia from the new order era to the reform era in an effort to shape a reformist military character. Military control over civilians during the new order era was driven by the need to create political stability and security for the sake of development. However, after the new order era, Indonesia continued to make major changes in realizing a professional national army. In the reform era, the military was under civilian control, which did not allow active military personnel to enter the political and public bureaucratic areas.
