Abstract

These various perceptions emerged both positive and negative perceptions regarding the implementation of the latest curriculum, namely the Merdeka Belajar curriculum. The purpose of writing this scientific article is to explore various teachers' perceptions regarding the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar curriculum in physics subjects. The research was conducted at one of the state high schools in the Surabaya area. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with a case study method. The data collection technique was carried out using purposive sampling and data triangulation as an analysis technique. This research includes the perceptions of physics teachers regarding the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum. There were positive and negative responses conveyed by the teachers. The shortcomings of the Merdeka curriculum implemented in schools are that teachers are still unable to adapt to the relatively new Merdeka curriculum and there is still a lack of information and references regarding the Merdeka curriculum teaching modules. The solution that can be applied to overcome this problem is that schools must pay more attention to teachers by holding more frequent training activities in preparing learning devices, providing access to training in using technology-based learning support media, and restructuring schedules for implementing P5 activities to be more optimal. The implementation of the Merdeka curriculum in this school has resulted in many teachers' perceptions of creating learning tools that are in accordance with this new curriculum. Apart from that, P5 activities with 12 more hours than other subjects make students take these activities more lightly.

Abstract

Abstract

This research explores physics concepts in depth in pletokan to be integrated into physics learning in the Merdeka Belajar curriculum. Using a qualitative descriptive approach and data triangulation techniques (observation, interviews, and literature study), this research identified pletokan as a superior contextual media for learning physics. Effectively achieve the learning objectives of the Merdeka Belajar curriculum while providing an enjoyable educational experience. The exploration results obtained specifically show that the traditional game of pletokan involves various physics principles such as gravitational potential energy, friction force, work and energy, ideal gas compression, bulk modulus, sound waves, motion dynamics, parabolic motion, and partially elastic collisions. These findings highlight the potential of Pletokan as a promising ethnoscience-based medium for physics learning, which is beneficial in improving student motivation and academic outcomes. Further research is needed to validate advanced applications and their effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. Embracing ethnoscience in this way enriches students' understanding by including context and preserving the nation's cultural heritage.

Abstract

This research aims to explore physics concepts involved in motorcycle racing and apply the analysis results as a fun physics learning media. This research is exploratory research with literature study and race video analysis by integrating literature study to strengthen the research. We explore vehicle dynamics, kinematics, aerodynamics, engine mechanics, thermodynamics, and other physics concepts relevant to motorcycle racing at Mandalika Circuit through a physics perspective analysis approach. This research includes an in-depth physics analysis of racing bikes and explores the implications of the results of this research for physics education. The results show that racing bikes, especially when used at Mandalika Circuit, provide authentic content to apply physics concepts in an engaging way for students. The implication of this research to physics learning is that motorcycle racing at Mandalika Circuit provides an interesting context to apply physics concepts such as dynamics, aerodynamics, and thermodynamics. By utilizing concrete examples from motorcycle racing at Mandalika Circuit, physics learning can be enhanced, arouse learners' interest, and strengthen their understanding of basic physics concepts.
