Abstract

Learning is essentially a process of interaction between students and educators and learning resources in a learning environment, according to Gagne (Kanusta 1977: 19). The purpose of this study was to measure the level of student activeness in the classroom by using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning method. Based on the results of observations that have been made by researchers in history learning activities in class X SMA Swasta Gabriel Wanibesak from 24 students, only 49% of students are active in learning history, this also shows that in cycle I the level of student learning activeness has a classical percentage level of 49% where this is further confirmed based on the formula for calculating student activeness criteria in learning according to Arikunto (2007: 18) If the level of activeness is below 75% then students are less active in participating in the teaching and learning process. In cycle II researchers used the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning method, there was an increase in the level of student activeness where the level of activeness in cycle II classically averaged 83%, this shows the level of enthusiasm of students in participating in the teaching and learning process that occurs in the classroom, in cycle II the teacher also tries to guide students to be more active in the teaching and learning process, such as answering questions given by the teacher, being able to express opinions, students are also active in group discussions, students actively ask the teacher regarding the material that has been conveyed, with the help and guidance of the teacher so that in cycle II the average level of student activeness has increased well.

Abstract

This study aims to increase the interest in learning history among ninth-grade students at SMP Sinar Pancasila Betun through the application of the role-playing method. The research problem addressed in this study is how effective the role-playing method is in increasing students' interest in learning history and what factors influence the success of this method. The study uses a classroom action research (CAR) method, consisting of four cycles. Each cycle includes stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection instruments used include observation sheets and learning interest questionnaires. The results of the study show a significant increase in students' interest in learning after the application of the role-playing method. In the second cycle, the average student learning interest was at 66%, and it gradually increased to 81% by the fourth cycle. The discussion of these results indicates that the role-playing method not only increases students' interest in learning but also facilitates collaboration, active participation, and student creativity in the history learning process. Therefore, it can be concluded that the role-playing method is effective in increasing the interest in learning history among ninth-grade students at SMP Sinar Pancasila Betun.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Batar Manaik tradition, a corn-honoring ritual performed annually by indigenous communities, particularly during the corn harvest season. This tradition is not only a form of gratitude for the harvest but also embodies cultural values that strengthen social bonds within the community. The ritual process involves various parties, including farmers, clan leaders (fukun), and community figures, each with important roles and responsibilities. The execution of the tradition begins with a series of stages involving the use of cultural symbols, such as tied corn, chicken blood, and the traditional house (ai lotuk laran) as the center of the ritual. Every tool and material used in the ritual, such as torches and mats, holds deep symbolic meaning. Through this tradition, the community not only celebrates the harvest but also reinforces their cultural identity and spiritual connection with their ancestors and the surrounding environment. This research aims to uncover the significance of each element involved in the BatarManaik ritual and how community participation affects the preservation of this tradition in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the belis tradition in the customary marriage of the Uma metan tribe, Sisi Village, Kobalima District, Malacca Regency with a historical descriptive review, and to describe the social and economic impacts of the high belis phenomenon. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research type. In the Uma Metan tribe, there is the Kletek Truik traditional marriage which has various provisions regarding the granting of belis to prospective wives. The buying process is inseparable from the agreement between the families. The process of giving belis involves both parties, both the male family and the female family, to provide reciprocal belis so that a good family relationship will be established so that no party is harmed. To be able to influence and maintain the life of the Uma Metan people, because this influence is closely related to individual life such as self-esteem in the family and self-confidence to pay off the belis. The results of his research are that the belis tradition in the Uma Metan tribe must be preserved but even more simplified and what is seen as a value that has essential meaning is maintained, namely that which symbolizes a system of social exchange to express respect for the dignity of a woman's position as a wife, expression of affection for children towards parents who have educated and raised as well as expressions of solidarity between the two umas concerned. Because in the current era, different types of belis, such as silver coins, plates (belak), softren, and muti leaves (morteen) in traditional houses, have started to disappear (disappear) so that everything is cashed out, this causes it to become a burden (debt) for the parties. men with a mediocre economy. So that it has social and economic impacts on the lives of individuals and their families.

Abstract

This paper aims to explore the charismatic leadership model of Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) from the perspective of Pancasila Education, with an emphasis on the internalization of human values, tolerance, and democracy embedded in the national and cultural praxis. Using a approach based on literature study, this article shows how Gus Dur became a transformative leader who consistently realized the second, third, and fourth principles of Pancasila. His leadership not only defended the nation's plurality but also created interreligious dialogue spaces and protected minority groups as concrete manifestations of humanity and tolerance values. Furthermore, the deliberative democracy he pioneered remains a significant legacy for political education and national character development.
