Abstract

This research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach to analyze students' conceptual understanding of the Pythagorean Theorem material for class VII. The population in this study was class VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Sedayu for the 2023/2024 academic year, and this research consisted of 32 sample students from class VII F. The data collection techniques used in this research were observation, tests and interviews. The instruments used in this research were observation sheets, tests and interviews. This research aims to analyze the level of students' understanding of concepts in the Pythagorean Theorem material for class VII middle school. From the data analysis results in this study, it shows that from a sample of 32 students, 7 students with a presentation of 21.8% were in the high category, 12 students with a presentation of 37.5% were in the medium category, and 13 students with a percentage of 40.62% were in the The low category means that students' understanding of mathematical concepts is still low. This is justified and supported by the results of the 5 indicators tested. Based on the data from the calculation of indicators for understanding the concept, there are 3 indicators in the low category and 2 other indicators in the medium category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of Adversity Quotient on students' mathematics learning achievement. The research was conducted in class VIII of MTs Hidayatussibyan Wadaslintang. The population and sample of the study were all students in that class, so sampling was done using total sampling technique. The instruments used were a questionnaire on the influence of Adversity Quotient and students' mathematics scores on the Periodic Assessment Test (PAT), which met the criteria for validity and reliability. The data analysis used hypothesis testing through simple linear regression analysis. No prerequisite tests were conducted because this study used a valid and reliable questionnaire. The results of the study showed that (1) the Sig. value of 0.000 < 0.05, thus rejecting the null hypothesis (H0), indicating that there is an influence of Adversity Quotient on students' mathematics learning outcomes; (2) the coefficient of determination (R square) was 0.480, indicating that Adversity Quotient accounts for 48% of the variance in students' mathematics learning outcomes, while the remaining 52% is influenced by other variables. The regression equation is Y = -2.375 + 0.822X. It can be concluded that in the absence of Adversity Quotient, students' mathematics learning achievement consistently remains at -2.735. Meanwhile, a 1% increase in Adversity Quotient results in a 0.822 increase in students' mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan peahaman konsep matematis dan keaktifan belajar siswa SMP N 1 Sedayu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen kuasi dan desain penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah pretest dan posttest control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMPN 1 sedayu. Sedangkan sample penelitian adalah kelas VII F yang terdiri 32 siswa dan kelas VII G yang terdiri dari 32 siswa. Dalam penelitian ini kelas VII Fsebagai kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran koperatif tipe inside outside circle dan kelas VII G sebagai kelas kontrol dengan menggunakan model pembalajaran yang biasa digunakan oleh guru matematika. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui meningkatnya kemampuan komunikasi dan keaktifan belajar siswa, yaitu pretest, posttest, dan lembar observasi keaktifan siswa. Untuk mengetahui apakan model pembelajaran SSCS menggunakan bahan ajar gamifikasi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa digunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Rant Test. Sedangkan, untuk mengetahui pengaruh terhadap keaktifan belajar siswa digunakan uji independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran SSCS berpengaruh terhadap meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan keaktifan belajar matematika siswa di SMPN 1 Sedayu dan model tersebut juga lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran yang biasa digunakan oleh guru matematika disekolah.
