Abstract

Silage is one of the products of anaerobic fermentation feed processing. The purpose of anaerobic fermentation feed processing is to extend the shelf life (preservation), maintain nutritional content (feed quality), improve palatability and digestibility. Activities were carried out on sheep farms in Tambak Bayan Village, Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Serdang Regency. The methods used include socialization / counseling, training / practice of making silage and mentoring. Evaluation is done by assessing the performance of farmers in practicing silage making. Indicators of the success rate of socialization, training activities can be assessed from the ability of farmers to make silage feed independently and assess the quality of silage physically (qualitative). The outputs obtained include: a) increased knowledge of farmers in feed processing, b) produced silage feed products, c) able to assess the quality of silage feed physically (organoleptic).
