Abstract

In the era of globalization, where changes and complexities occur within societies, the multicultural values found within the hadiths become increasingly important in fostering social harmony and maintaining religious tolerance among different communities. Therefore, the understanding and implementation of these multicultural values within the hadiths need to be continuously enhanced and disseminated to the entire society. This study aims to analyze the comprehension and implementation of multicultural values within the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), serving as a foundation for building social harmony in the era of globalization. The research method employed is a descriptive-analytical approach. Primary data were collected from hadith collections that pertain to multiculturalism, while secondary data were obtained from relevant journals and books on the discussed theme. The results of this study reveal that the analyzed multicultural values encompass three aspects: the equality of all humans, tolerance, and fair treatment within the framework of human rights. Furthermore, efforts are being made to enhance the comprehension and implementation of these multicultural values, including: 1)Religious education and understanding, achieved through integrating multicultural values into ethics and interpersonal interactions curriculum. 2) Interfaith dialogue, facilitated through grassroots initiatives such as the Interfaith Harmony Forum (FKUB). 3) Dissemination of positive information, accomplished through character education and ethical training. 4) Cross-cultural understanding. These endeavors collectively contribute to fostering a harmonious and inclusive society amidst the challenges and complexities brought about by globalization.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Masjid Hidayatullah yang beralamat di Jl. Ki Hajar Dewantara No. 1, Kecamatan Pandan, Provinsi Sumatera Utara Pada Tanggal 15 s/d 16 Desember 2023. Sasaran dari kegiatan ini adalah Siswa SMA N. 1 Matauli Pandan. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah pelatihan dan praktik langsung (demonstrasi), dengan beberapa tahapan. Pertama, tahap persiapan meliputi koordinasi tim pengabdian Masyarakat bersama guru-guru MGMP. Kedua, melakukan survey untuk mengumpulkan data awal tentang permasalahan yang dialami oleh siswa SMA N. 1 Matauli Pandan yang berkaitan dengan wudhu dan tayammum. Ketiga, menyiapkan materi pelatihan. Keempat, tahap pelaksanaan meliputi pelatihan. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan ceramah atau memberikan materi dan tanya jawab serta praktik langsung (demonstrasi) dan diakhiri dengan tahapan evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini telah sesuai dengan target yang ditentukan yaitu para Siswa SMA N. 1 Matauli telah memahami dalil Alquran dan Hadis tentang berwudhu dan manfaat wudhu terhadap kesehatan sehingga mereka dapat mengaplikasikan wudhu dengan benar sesuai dengan dalil Alquran dan Hadis.

Abstract

This study examines the term kafura as it appears in Surah al-Insan (76:5) of the Quran and in the saying of the Prophet Muhammad saw. from historical and linguistic perspective. The purpose of thus research is ti trace the etymologi and semantic development of the term kafura, its usage in religious texts, and its possible connection to the trading commodity known as canphor (Kapur barus) originating from the Barus region in North Sumatera, Indonesia. The research employs a qualitative methodology with a historical-linguistic approach, drawing on primary sources such as classical Quranic exegesis (tafsir), hadith collection, travelogues, and historical chronicles from the Islamic world, China, and the West. The findings indicate that kafura, as interpreted by Nusantaran scholars, reflects a historical link between the term and natural products from the Malay-Indonesian archipelago, which had long been part of global trade networks both before and after the advent of Islam. From a linguistic perspective, the study suggests that the inclusion of foreign loan words in the Qur’an, kafura among them is a form of ta‘rib (Arabization), possibly mediated through Persian, which supports the notion of early intercultural and commercial interactions in the pre-Islamic era. Historically, camphor from Barus (also known as Fansur), located on the western coast of Sumatra, was a highly valued international commodity known across the ancient world since the early Common Era. In conclusion, this study posits that kafura is a cross-cultural term that underscores the significant role of Barus in the networks of trade and the dissemination of Islam in the Asian region.

Abstract

During the socialization of five hundred students spread across several campuses, namely: for ten days at Langlangbuana University, Syedza Saintika University, Muhammadiyah University of Luwuk, Mandaling Natal State Islamic College, and Tamansiswa University Palembang. These eight characteristics, which are among the materials used in the author's outreach program, are hoped to serve as a primary reference for finding accredited and high-quality academic journals and helping to avoid predatory journals. The author sincerely hopes that participants in this outreach program will improve their reading literacy, enhance their thinking paradigms, and enhance the quality of their writing.
