Abstract

Pelaksanaan pengawasan dengan metode yang dilakukan kepala sekolah yang menjalankan kewenangan pekerjaan administrasi, dimana manajemen kepala sekolah merupakan salah satu variabel penentu dalam mencapai tujuan instruktif. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti perlu melihat jalan menuju pelaksanaan pengawasan yang dilakukan oleh kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kedisiplinan guru. Tujuan di balik penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana kedisiplinan pendidik, untuk mengetahui bagaimana cara melaksanakan manajemen kepala sekolah dalam mengembangkan disiplin pengajar dan untuk menemukan kendala kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan disiplin dan penataan pendidik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif memanfaatkan metode deskriptif. Prosedur pengumpulan informasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sementara itu, prosedur analisa data melalui siklus penurunan, penyajian, dan pengecekan informasi. Analisis data yang terkumpul diidentifikasi dengan berkaitan pelaksanaan pengawasan kepala sekolah MTS Darul Mu’allamah dalam meningkatkan kedisiplinan guru. Hasil akhir dari pemeriksaan ini menggabungkan para analis yang menyimpulkan bahwa pertama, sebagian besar pendidik telah melakukan pengendalian dengan mengikuti pedoman materi di sekolah, juga dalam pelaksanaan pengawasan, kepala sekolah menjaga suasana hangat dengan instruktur dan staf, kedekatan dan transparansi sehingga pelaksanaan manajemen dilakukan dengan sukses dan mahir, yang ketiga adalah hambatan kepala sekolah dalam pelaksanaan kedisiplinan guru di MTS Darul Mu’allamah, khususnya kegelisahan kepala sekolah terhadap tenaga pendidik yang tidak bisa menerima pengaturan peningkatan dan penataran yang akan diselesaikan oleh kepala sekolah. Jawaban atas hambatan ini adalah ketegasan kepala sekolah dalam melaksanakan peningkatan disiplin pendidik.

Abstract

The closure of USAID prompted various reactions by the media, which in turn affected public opinion and ongoing policies. This research investigates how media narratives cover the shutdown of USAID using word cloud visualization to capture themes and sentiments. The research attempts to find: What are the dominant media narratives regarding the shutdown? Using tokenization, stopword elimination, and frequency analysis before generating a word cloud to illustrate prominent words. The data shows that US media focuses on government spending, foreign aid, employment, and diplomatic activity, which all influence the public perception of the shutdown. The study argues that computational text analysis aids in the understanding of media discourse and sentiments on policies, which help policymakers and scholars concerned with public opinion and policy discourse on international aid and development issues. This study advances the field of media by expanding the scope of the study of visual politics and political communication. The analysis reveals that the conversation revolves around government activities, consequences of foreign aid, workforce considerations, and spatial politics, with “funding,” “security,” and “diplomatic” standing out the most. The analysis of the media coverage shows that the shutdown is framed as a political as well as an economic crisis, constructing a narrative that is later used in public discourse and policy discussions. This project adds to the body of work on media by employing visual analysis in the study of political communication and analyzing media framing from a computational perspective.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and validate a service quality measurement instrument specifically for brick-and-mortar cosmetic retail stores in Lampung Province, Indonesia. An initial pool of 40 items—reflecting six dimensions (store aesthetics, ambience, lighting, product display, store layout, and staff service quality)—was generated based on the literature and refined through expert review and pilot testing. Data were collected from 126 customers of three major cosmetic retailers in Lampung. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) on 33 retained items revealed a stable three-factor structure (“Store Aesthetics,” “Ambience & Lighting,” and “Product Display, Layout & Staff Service”), explaining 70.6% of the total variance. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) confirmed model fit (CFI = 0.96; TLI = 0.95; RMSEA = 0.045; SRMR = 0.042). Each factor demonstrated high internal consistency (α ≥ 0.878; CR ≥ 0.90) and acceptable convergent validity (AVE ≥ 0.56) and discriminant validity. The final 26-item scale offers a psychometrically sound tool for assessing service quality in Indonesian cosmetic retail environments. Practically, managers can use this instrument to identify areas for improvement—in interior design, sensory ambience, merchandise presentation, store layout, and staff training—to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
