Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan model pembelajaran problem based learning berbatuan metode peer teaching terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa pada materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel kelas VIII SMP Adhyaksa Medan T.A. 2023/2024. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian quasi experiment dengan populasi penelitian yaitu seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Adhyaksa Medan T.A. 2023/2024. Dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling dan diperoleh sampel penelitian kelas eksperimen di kelas VIII-A dan kelas kontrol di kelas VIII-B. Setelah dilakukan penelitian, diperoleh hasil kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa dari kualitas pembelajaran dengan nilai 0,000 < 0,005 berarti ada perbedaan efektivitas antara model problem based learning (PBL) berbantuan metode peer teaching dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan rat-rata N-Gain pada kelas eksperimen diperoleh sebesar 0,86 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,56 artinya model problem based learning (PBL) berbantuan metode peer teaching lebih efektif dari pada model pembelajaran konvensional. Berdasarkan kesesuaian tingkat pembelajaran dikategorikan baik dengan nilai 4,3. Berdasarkan waktu dikategorikan baik dengan nilai 4. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan N-Gain, kesesuaian tingkat pembelajaran dan waktu maka disimpulkan model pembelajaran PBL berbatuan metode peer teaching lebih efektif dari pada pembelajaran konvensional. Jadi kesimpulannya model pembelajaran problem based learning berbatuan metode peer teaching efektif terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel kelas VIII SMP Adhyaksa Medan T.A 2023/2024.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of differentiated learning processes on the social mathematical skills of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 18 Medan. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research with the research population being all class VIII students at SMP Negeri 18 Medan. With a simple random sampling technique, a sample of class VIII-10 was obtained with 32 students. The instruments used were questionnaires and observations that had been tested for prerequisites in advance. After the differentiated learning process treatment was carried out, the results of the calculation of the learning quality questionnaire sheet reached an effectiveness category of 56% (moderate), the results of the calculation of the social skills questionnaire sheet reached an effectiveness category of 66% (moderate), the results of the calculation of the observation sheet for the suitability of the learning level to teacher activities obtained an average of 3.476 (good), the results of the calculation of the observation sheet on student activities obtained an average of 3.039 (good), the results of the calculation of the time allocation observation sheet obtained an average of 4 (good). Based on the quality of learning, the suitability of the learning level and time allocation, differentiated learning is effective for the social mathematical skills of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 18 Medan.
