Abstract

This journal discusses the influence of modernization on the management and maintenance of Minangkabau customary land. Modernization itself is a change that occurs over time. Its relationship with humans is how humans adapt to all changes to meet all their life needs. Customary land management is carried out by traditional communities by following the laws that apply in the community or often called customary law. With modernization, existing laws in the community and updated laws will adapt to each other, because laws exist for humans, not humans for the law. The main topic of discussion is how the modernization system applies to Minangkabau land management and what influence modernization has on Minangkabau land management. The existing data to answer this main problem is empirical data originating from journals, books, or applicable laws and regulations.

Abstract

Abstract Philosophy seeks to make sense of the world by interpreting it from a very broad perspective, encompassing everything the human mind is capable of. It is different from studying law, which has a narrow scope because it only focuses on standards and regulations. The goal of philosophy is something that can be achieved by human reason. This research was conducted using the normative juridical method, namely by examining literature materials related to the influence of the school of legal philosophy in the development of legal science. This research is conducted by examining secondary legal materials in the form of journals and scientific articles related to the schools of legal philosophy and how they influence the development of legal science and the role of law in society. There are several schools that develop and influence the formation of law including: Natural Law (Justice), Positivism (Certainty), Utilitarianism (Benefit). The role of law in carrying out this concept is very important, because law is the main tool for regulating and enforcing the principles of social justice in modern society. In the development of legal awareness, the next factor affecting legal awareness is about public obedience to the law. Thus, all the interests of society will be protected and people's lives will become more peaceful. The development of legal science can be facilitated by the schools of positivism, natural law, and utilitarianism, each of which has its own characteristics. Because human behavior is unpredictable, there must be protection of individual rights and guarantees of life in society are needed to create security and safety of justice. What influences the development of legal awareness is the community's obedience to the law, and all community interests will be carried out.

Abstract

Tidaran 1 Hamlet, Candiretno Village, Magelang Regency, is a rural area with quite heavy traffic in several areas. One location of particular concern is the bends and T-junctions in RT 11, which are frequently used by both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles. This area is known to be an accident-prone area due to blind spots that obstruct the view of drivers from both directions. Unfortunately, to date, there are no safety facilities such as traffic signs or convex mirrors to aid visibility. Seeing this problem, students participating in the Community Service Program (KKN) from Tidar University conducted an intervention based on community needs. One effort was the installation of convex mirrors to minimize the risk of accidents. This activity was carried out using an action research method (action research), which included field observation, risk analysis, solution design, implementation, and impact evaluation. Throughout the process, students actively involved the community, the RT head, and village officials to ensure the proposed solution was participatory and sustainable. Convex mirrors with a diameter of 80 cm and a 2.5-meter-high support pole were installed at strategic points on the bends. Following the installation, follow-up observations and interviews with local residents were conducted. The results showed a significant improvement in visibility for drivers, especially at night and in similar weather. Residents reported feeling safer, less hesitant when crossing, and more alert to oncoming traffic. This program not only improved safety but also raised public awareness of the importance of traffic management. Therefore, similar interventions can be replicated in other vulnerable areas, with collaborative support from the community, universities, and village government.
