Abstract

This community service activity is related to the role of students in setting an example for society in creating a clean and healthy environment. This activity is a platform that allows students to directly contribute to addressing issues in the community. This activity aims to raise public awareness about a clean and healthy environment. The methods used in this program include discussions and coordination with village officials, field activities such as community service, the creation of bamboo waste banks, and socialization. The result of this activity is that the students gained direct experience with social issues, implemented solutions, and increased the community's awareness of cleanliness and environmental health.

Abstract

The research was a trial of instrumental music therapy on prenatal and postnatal patients at the Martha Friska Multatuli Hospital in Medan. The aim of this research is to be a solution to reduce pain and stress so that mothers who are about to give birth and after giving birth can feel relaxed. The tool used in the research is BmT (Music Box Therapy). Previously, BmT (Music Box Therapy) was tested on patients affected by drugs at the Mutiara Abadi Binjai Foundation (2019) and hypertension patients at the Medan Methodist Hospital (2021). The method used in the research was a quasi-experiment on four patients before and after giving birth. The BmT is designed to use two types of sensors, namely the MPX5050dp sensor as a blood pressure sensor and Galvanic Skin Resistance (GSR) as a sensor to measure the patient's skin conductivity level. One of the components of BmT is 16 pieces of instrumental music which are musical compositions by Prof. Junita Batubara, S.Sn., M.Sn., Ph.D.. The results of this trial show that the use of the instrumental music Alam Selamat, which is one of the therapeutic music in BmT, can reduce stress levels in mothers who are about to give birth and after giving birth.

Abstract

Masyarakat pulau Nias yang terkenal di Sumatera Utara dengan adat istiadat dan budaya yang masih terjaga sampai sekarang. Masyarakat Nias memiliki beragam alat musik yang unik dan sering digunakan dalam berbagai pertunjukan yang ada di pulau Nias seperti dalam pentas seni, upacara sakral, acara pernikahan dan masih banyak lagi. Namun dari banyaknya alat musik tersebut ada satu alat musik yang sudah lama terbengkalai dan hampir punah yaitu lagia alat musik ini sebenarnya cukup unik baik dari bentuk dan cara memainkannya. Namun yang menjadi pertanyaannya jika alat musik lagia ini unik kenapa bisa terbengkalai? Nah setelah penulis melakukan penelitian tentang alat musik lagia ini memperoleh kesimpulan bahwa lagia termasuk alat musik yang susah diproduksi dan juga susah cara memainkannya karena harus menggunakan air liur untuk membasahi busur yang merupakan alat gesek senar pada alat musik lagia. Alat musik lagia dapat kita lihat bentuk wujud aslinya di Museum pusaka Nias.
