Abstract

One of the materials used in ship propellers is aluminum alloy. The advantages of aluminum are that it is easy to cast and relatively resistant to corrosion. This research aims to determine the effect of heat treatment and the effect of variations in the concentration of H2SO4 and immersion time in optimal of the anodizing process on the hardness value of 7075-O aluminum alloy (as-cast aluminum alloy). The method used is solution heat treatment at a temperature of 490ºC with a holding time of 6 hours, quenching using water or oil, with artificial aging at a temperature of 120ºC with a holding time of 24 hours. In the anodizing process, a sulfuric acid solution with various concentrations of 10%, 15%, and 20% with variations in immersion time of 10, 15, and 20 minutes. The results of vickers hardness test on heat-treated specimens with water quenching accompanied by artificial aging is 137.54 HV, it is increased by 47.44%. While the results of the vickers hardness test after anodizing is 213.09 HV, it is increased by 128.42%. Where the optimum hardness value was achieved at a concentration of 15% H2SO4 and an immersion time of 20 minutes. The coating thickness is equal to 25.79 µm.

Abstract

Karakuri kaizen is an approach to improve the efficiency of the production process by utilizing simple mechanisms that rely on the principles of mechanics without external energy (such as electricity or pneumatics). In this study, the impact analysis on the critical part of the karakuri kaizen design uses analytical and simulation methods. Simulation methods are divided into motion study, stress, strain, displacement, and velocity analysis. Impact simulation on dynamic rack mechanical stopper and impact simulation on static rack stopper. The results of analytical calculations and simulations on the box speed show that there are similarities in the time value and final speed of the box before stopping. The results of the impact simulation show that in the mechanical stopper path (a) the bolt pretension factor is still in a neutralized condition so that its effect is more dominant than the load on the box, the max stress ranges from 550-560 MPa and the strain is at 0.0025-0.0029. While the stopper path (b) oscillates with a max stress ranging from 270-320 MPa and a strain is at 0.002-0.0026. The box speed after impact is much greater than the input speed, due to the absence of a damping system, and the mass multiplier on the stopper being too large.

Abstract

Abstrak. Mesin Dry Leak Test adalah alat yang digunakan untuk menguji kebocoran pada suatu komponen tanpa menggunakan cairan. Nozzle merupakan komponen yang paling berpengaruh pada mesin dry leak test karena mendistribusikan aliran udara pada komponen yang akan di uji. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan rancang-bangun mesin dry leak test dengan nozzle dan dies spesifik yang akan digunakan pada lampu reflektor mobil Avanza. Kemudian pengujian performa mesin dilakukan dengan memvariasikan lubang outlet nozzle dengan dimensi Ø 2/3/4 mm dan tekanan input pada rentang 1 – 5 Bar. Diameter outlet 2 dan 3 mm memiliki perfroma yang baik hingga 3 Bar. Sedangkan dia. 4 mm hanya bisa digunakan pada tekanan 1 Bar.Abstract. The Dry Leak Test Machine is a tool used to test components for leaks without using liquid. The nozzle is the component that has the most influence on the dry leak test machine because it distributes air flow to the component to be tested. In this research, the design and construction of a dry leak test machine was carried out with a specific nozzle and dies that will be used on the reflector lights of the Avanza car. Then machine performance testing was carried out by varying the nozzle outlet hole with dimensions Ø 2/3/4 mm and input pressure in the range 1 – 5 Bar. Outlet diameters of 2 and 3 mm have good performance up to 3 Bar. Meanwhile dia. 4 mm can only be used at 1 Bar pressure.

Abstract

Huller is the main machine that determines the quality and quantity of production in the rice milling industry. The current problem, especially in the small-scale rice milling industry, is that they still use locally made huller machines that use 6-inch diameter rice rubber rollers with a capacity of 800-1,200 kg/hour. Local huller machines produce a yield (broken rice) of 30-40%, so three huller machines and one polisher machine are needed in one production line. This machine assembly requires energy, human power and high costs. With these problems, a machine is needed that is capable of increasing the yield and milling capacity. Huller machine with horizontal rice rubber roller has a dimension specification of 1.3X0.9X2 meters; Rice rubber roller diameter 10 inches; 3 phase electric motor 20HP 15KW 1,500 rpm. The huller machine has been tested at the CV. Putra Maju rice mill, Wirakanan Village, Kandanghaur District, Indramayu Regency for 4 months. Test results Huller machine capacity 1,600 kg/hour ± 50 kg with a yield of 72% ± 2%.
