Abstract

NAM Al-Mulk Vocational School is one of the Islamic-based vocational schools. In this school, there is learning about making appropriate products that can be used as entrepreneurial learning. However, there is still no education on product creation that can be used as an entrepreneurial object that can be utilized for everyday economic needs. This service activity aims to provide training for NAM Al-Mulk Vocational School students in making solid soap that is safe for health and environmentally friendly. Solid soap is made by adding seaweed extract which has a multitude of benefits, one of which is to help moisturize the skin and treat irritation. The methods used are lectures, discussions, and direct practice during training. The results of the service received a good response from the participants based on the questionnaire results after the training, 75% of the training participants were satisfied with the soap-making training with the addition of seaweed extract because it met the participants' expectations. The results of ANOVA with Sig support this. equal to 0.000 < 0.05, it means that there is a difference in the average understanding of service participants before and after being given training in making solid soap with seaweed extract.            Keywords: solid soap; seaweed extract; enterpreneurship  Abstrak: Sekolah SMK NAM Al-Mulk merupakan salah satu sekolah SMK yang berbasis islam.

Abstract

Cosmetics have become one of the most sought-after aspects for women today. One commonly used cosmetic product is lipstick, which is used to add color to the lips. This research aims to identify the presence of heavy metals in lipstick samples. The study encompasses two types of tests: qualitative and quantitative analysis of metal content in lipstick. The qualitative test aims to determine whether lipstick contains certain metals using simple reagents. Meanwhile, the quantitative test, involving the use of a UV-VIS spectrophotometer, is conducted to determine the concentration of metals that produced a positive result in the qualitative test. The qualitative test results indicate that the lipstick sample contains iron (Fe) as it exhibits a red color change. The quantitative test results reveal that the concentration of Fe in the lipstick is 6.0034 mg/kg, exceeding the recommended threshold set by the Department of Health (Depkes) Keywords: Trace Metal, Lip, UV-Vis Spectrophotometry

Abstract

This research used blood cockle shells (Anadara granosa) originating from consumption waste in the Batam City area. Cockle shell samples were taken and prepared for analysis of mineral content using the FTIR method, including CaCO3 and other minerals. The blood cockle shells were applied to ultisol soil in Batam City to improve its fertility. The shells were crushed into a fine powder, then mixed with ultisol soil with several treatments, including 0 grams (control), 10 grams, 20 grams, and 30 grams with a soil mass composition of 220 grams for each treatment. The mixture of soil and shell powder was stirred until homogeneous before being applied to mustard greens plants. Based on the research results, the addition of shell powder had an effect on the level of plant fertility. The experimental results carried out showed an effect on each treatment given. This is in line with statistical testing with analysis of variance, obtaining a sig. value of 0.037 < α = 5% (0.05), indicating a significant difference in treatment for each treatment.

Abstract

Background: Brackish water is a unique ecosystem formed from the mixing of seawater and freshwater, commonly found in coastal areas and swamps. However, its existence is now threatened by heavy metal pollution from industrial activities. Unprocessed heavy metals are discharged into brackish water, contaminating the ecosystem and endangering human health, especially coastal communities that rely heavily on this water resource. Methods: To address this problem, the Community Service Program (PkM) proposes the application of a water treatment installation technology based on blood cockle shell powder filtration in the area of the Indonesian Traditional Fishermen’s Union (KNTI), specifically in Dangas Village, Batam. Blood cockle shells (Anadara granosa) were chosen because of their high calcium carbonate (CaCO₃) content and their effectiveness in absorbing heavy metals. Results: Based on p-value analysis, there was a significant difference in partner satisfaction before and after the PkM activity. Conclusion: This approach is expected to provide an environmentally friendly and sustainable solution to combat brackish water pollution, improve the quality of life of coastal communities, and prevent long-term health impacts caused by heavy metal exposure.
