Abstract

The method of catching fish carried out by traditional fishermen in "fisherman-cage" still uses petromax lamps with kerosene or lamps from generators that run on diesel fuel. These situations could cause oil spills that pollute the environment and are prone to fires. This community service program introduces a new energy source, by designing a solar-based lighting system (PLTS), where sunlight is converted into electric current and stored in batteries as a backup current at night. In this design, fishermen can optimize lighting by adjusting the position of the lamp according to the sea level at high and low tide to attract plankton and fish to enter the cage net. The design of the prototype has been tested in the TI-MR ITEBA laboratory with very satisfactory results, and then it was continued with serial production of 10 sets to be handed over to the fishing community. The fisherman directly recognized the success of the 10 sets of PLTS in increasing fish catches and getting environmentally friendly when the team visited the cage location

Abstract

Kerang adalah salah satu jenis komoditas yang melimpah di wilayah muara dan pesisir pantai. Kerang digunakan untuk berbagai manfaat, termasuk sebagai sumber protein dalam makanan. Kerang merupakan salah satu seafood yang popular di berbagai daerah, termasuk di kota Batam, kota pesisir yang terkenal dengan keberagamanan kuliner lautnya serta jalur perdagangan. Masyarakat di kota Batam sering mengomsumsi kerang sebagai bahan makanan sehari-hari. Namun, keprihatinan muncul ketika berkaitan dengan keamanan konsumsi kerang, terutama dalam konteks logam berat. Hal ini diketahui bahwa Kota Batam merupakan salah satu jalur perdagangan dunia dan pelabuhan bebas yang memiliki potensi pencemaran di wilayah pesisir, yang memiliki biota laut disekitarnya. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kandungan logam berat yaitu Pb, Fe, Hg, dan Cd pada beberapa jenis kerang yang banyak beredar di pasar dan dikonsumsi masyarakat yaitu Kerang Dara, Kerang Hijau dan Siput Gonggong. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode dekstriptif melalui pencampuran sampel dengan larutan standar. Pengujian kualitatif kandungan logam dilakukan pada cangkang dan daging kerang dengan menggunakan larutan standar kalium iodide (KI), kalium sianida (KSCN), ammonium hidroksida (NH4OH), natrium hidroksida (NaOH), ammonia (NH3). Observasi hasil pengujian kualitatif menunjukkan terjadi perubahan warna menjadi merah bata pada semua larutan standar setelah dicampur dengan bagian cangkang dan daging kerang hijau serta siput gonggong sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa uji kualitatif menunjukkan positif adanya kandungan logam Fe pada Kerang Dara, Kerang Hijau, dan Siput Gonggong

Abstract

The high national demand for sugar makes Indonesia very dependent on imports of cane sugar. Alternative products are urgently needed to reduce dependence on imported cane sugar, and one product that has potential is sago sugar. Currently, sago sugar is starting to be developed, one of which is in Sungai Tohor Village, Tebing Tinggi Timur District, Meranti Islands Regency. The aim of the service is to identify the process of processing sago into sago sugar, provide knowledge about the enzymes ?-amylase and ?-glucoamylase and their applications, provide enzyme packages that act as a binder as one of the factors in making sugar, reactivate production, teach e-commerce promotion, and recommend suggestions regarding the development of sago sugar products. The method or approach used in this activity is a participatory approach. This approach is a practice of communicative, transactive, advocative and collaborative planning theories. In carrying out this service, it was carried out well, from the delivery of materials, procurement of enzyme packages, manufacturing processes, and making attractive sago sugar packaging. Delivery of service material is done online with several constraints of funds, time, distance, energy, and conditions that do not allow service members to go back and forth in one day or stay overnight in the area, and considering that the process of making sago sugar will also take a long time. The enzyme package is the biggest expense in this service, considering that the price of this enzyme is very expensive. Meanwhile, the process of making sago sugar takes a relatively long time, around 3 or 4 days. The use of the enzymes ?-amylase and ?-glucoamylase in the process of making sago starch into sago sugar among sago farmers in Meranti Islands Regency got good results in the form of understanding the manufacture and use of enzymes, providing enzyme packages to sago processing entrepreneurs, good sago sugar production results, and produce attractive packaging that can be profitable.

Abstract

The Riau Islands region is one of the archipelago areas in Indonesia where most of the people depend on marine products, one of which is shellfish, which have various colors and beauty. In various regions, people have Using seashells to improve the quality of life. Shells can be used as building materials, collections, clothing, furniture decoration, and as souvenirs, both for functional purposes and interior decoration. The use of goods that are not economical but can produce high economic value is currently attracting the attention of craft market players. If made into crafts or souvenirs, seashells, which are a product of marine waste, can be very valuable. Various types of crafts are developing in today's society, one of which is crafts that use resin as the main material. The manufacturing process with this composite material can be carried out easily by all groups. This composite manufacturing training was given to the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) group in the Cipta Garden housing complex which is approximately 10 km from the ITEBA campus. This group actively gathers every month, but no productive activities are carried out. In principle, this activity provides knowledge and skills for this PKK group to be productive by producing various types of crafts with high selling value. So it is hoped that later it can become an idea for entrepreneurship

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop a Phydromod product which is an android-based physics practicum e-module. This is because the physics practice courses at the Faculty of Engineering, Ibnu Sina University (UIS) has a fundamental obstacle, namely there is no fixed module that guides all students like other universities and high student mobility. The method used in this study is the Research and Development (RnD) method by following the ADDIE model for module and Waterfall for aplication. Phydromod was developed using the Java program, which will later contain practicum modules for each meeting. The subjects in this study were 1C Regular Industrial Engineering students. The evaluation was carried out using two questionnaires which were analyzed using a Likert scale, which consisted of a module validation questionnaire and the phydromod application. The results of this study are in the form of module products with a module validation value of 88 and 88.2% Phydromod implementation.Keywords: e-modul, physics, android, application

Abstract

A puzzle is an arrangement of numbers consisting of nine squares that are neatly arranged in a sequence of numbers 1 to number 8. Puzzle games are interesting, fun games and improve cognitive abilities, how to think quickly and are able to develop children's brains to increase their grasping power in solving a problem. . The problem that occurs in this study is the lack of children's ability to solve the logic of compiling puzzles, so make rules and steps to quickly complete this game. The main purpose of this research is to help children improve their thinking patterns so they can arrange numbers 1 to 8 with fast time and solutions. The method used is the Best First Search algorithm in finding the Final Goal quickly and easily. The final result of this research, after several stages of eating, the final result is that the puzzle sequence has fulfilled the final goal according to the initial data. The basic concept of solving the Best First Search Algorithm must follow the rules that have been set by running the process in accordance with existing procedures. If in the search process an unsuitable arrangement is found, then proceed with the next search until it finds the correct position in the form of a sequence of numbers 1 to 8. If it is found, the search algorithm is stopped

Abstract

Pulau Belakang Padang sering kali menghadapi cuaca ekstrem seperti gelombang pasang dan angin kencang, yang dapat membahayakan keselamatan nelayan. Minimnya infrastruktur komunikasi serta kurangnya akses terhadap informasi cuaca secara real-time meningkatkan risiko kecelakaan laut. Oleh karena itu, Smart Weather Detection System berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) dirancang untuk memberikan peringatan dini mengenai kondisi cuaca dan gelombang laut secara real-time. Sistem ini menggunakan sensor cuaca dan gelombang yang datanya langsung diakses melalui aplikasi mobile yang dikembangkan oleh dosen dan mahasiswa Institut Teknologi Batam (ITEBA). Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan dalam lima tahap: sosialisasi dan pelatihan mitigasi menghadapi ancaman bahaya cuaca ekstrem, pelatihan penggunaan teknologi, penerapan sistem, pendampingan, serta evaluasi dan keberlanjutan. Indikator dari keberhasilan program ini adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra sasaran tentang ancaman bahaya cuaca ekstrem serta upaya mitigas yang diukur melalui kuesioner pre-test dan post-test. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan mitra sasaran sebanyak 95% tentang ancaman bahaya cuaca esktrem dan bajir rob sebesar 95%, serta peningkatan pengetahuan dan kesedaran upaya mitigasi bencana 100%.

Abstract

Geo-electricity is a methods to measure potential in the earth’s surface. Laplace equation’s second orde is used in natural potential measurement. Finite difference method is used to solve this Laplace equation to get numeric solution. The solution figures the distribution of source potential that gotten from many sides of modeling domain.
