Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh antara Efektivitas Knowledge Management dan Efikasi Diri terhadap Kinerja Guru sekolah minggu Buddha (SMB) di provinsi kepulauan riau. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penyusunan tesis ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer dari hasil penyebaran kuesioner kepada 100 orang guru SMB sebagai sampel penelitian. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Sampel jenuh. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Efektivitas Knowledge Management dan Efikasi Diri secara simultan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Kinerja Guru sekolah minggu Buddha (SMB) di provinsi kepulauan riau dengan koefisien determinasi sebesar R2y1.2 = 0,695 dan skor koefisien korelasi dihasilkan sebesar Ry1.2 = 0,834; 2) Efektivitas Knowledge Management secara parsial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru dengan koefisien determinasi sebesar R2y1= 0,591 dan skor koefisien korelasi dihasilkan sebesar Ry1 = 0,769; 3) Efikasi Diri secara parsial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru dengan koefisien determinasi sebesar R2y2= 0,352 dan skor koefisien korelasi dihasilkan sebesar Ry2 = 0,593.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the Buddha's journeys, the concept of Buddhist adventure-based digital games, and students' perception of Buddhist adventure-based digital games to enhance English language skills. This research employs descriptive research with a quantitative method. Questionnaires were distributed to 98 non-English students majoring in Buddhism who have experienced English language learning using Buddhist adventure-based digital games at Nalanda Institute in Jakarta after the lecturer integrated the game as a teaching tool, with the research conducted from March to July 2024. The findings indicate that 1) 95.90% of students have a good knowledge of the concept of digital games for learning English; 2) 100% of students have a good understanding of the Buddha Adventure; 3) 99.00% of students enjoyed learning English using digital games; 4) 95.90% of students are interested in incorporating these games into their English studies; 5) 96.90% of students have a good comprehension of learning English through Buddhist adventure-based digital games as a learning medium; 6) 98.00% of students support the effectiveness of this game to enhance their language skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Therefore, this study concludes that the perceptions of non-English students majoring in Buddhism towards Buddhist adventure-based digital games as a medium for learning English are highly significant. The results of this research imply that Nalanda Institute should integrate these findings into its learning policies.

Abstract

Hasil survey pra penelitian peneliti berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan salah satu guru, mengatakan bahwa sikap dan perilaku yang dimiliki siswa yang kurang sesuai dengan norma dalam agama Budha. Fenomena ini menunjukkan bahwa belum tercapainya pendidikan karakter yang diberikan guru pada siswa dan masih rendahnya sikap patuh dan perilaku disiplin siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan Untuk menganalisis pengaruh pendidikan karakter terhadap patuh dan perilaku disiplin siswa SMP Maitreyawira Dumai dan SMP Metta Maitreya Pekan Baru. Penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian seluruh siswa SMP Maitreyawira Dumai dan SMP Metta Maitreya Pekan Baru yang berjumlah 124 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian menggunakan accidental sampling. Pengujian hipotesis dan teknik analisis data Regresi Linear Berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara pendidikan karakter terhadap perilaku disiplin, maka bila pendidikan karakter siswa ditingkatkan, maka perilaku disiplin siswa juga semakin meningkat searah dengan peningkatan pendidikan karakter dan terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara sikap patuh terhadap perilaku disiplin, maka bila sikap patuh siswa ditingkatkan, maka perilaku disiplin siswa juga semakin meningkat searah dengan peningkatan sikap patuh serta terdapat pengaruh pendidikan karakter dan sikap patuh berpengaruh terhadap perilaku disiplin pada siswa SMP Maitreyawira Dumai dan SMP Metta Maitreya Pekan Baru dengan presentase sumbangan pengaruh variabel pendidikan karakter dan sikap patuh terhadap perilaku disiplin sebesar 57.1% dan sisanya 42.9% dipengaruhi atau dijelaskan oleh variabel lain yang tidak terdapat dalam model atau diluar dari penelitian ini.

Abstract

Students' learning interest at the Buddhist Sunday School had once declined, as reflected in the low attendance rate. After a change in management, the addition of facilities and improvement of infrastructure were carried out, which led to a significant increase in student attendance data. This study aims to analyze: (1) the causes of low student attendance prior to the improvement of facilities and infrastructure, (2) the current availability of learning facilities and infrastructure at SMB, and (3) the influence of learning facilities and infrastructure on increasing students' learning interest at SMB Vihara Theravada Buddha Sasana, Kelapa Gading, Jakarta. This research employed a qualitative approach with an instrumental case study method. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and parents, and questionnaires distributed to SMB students. The study was conducted at SMB Vihara Theravada Buddha Sasana, Jakarta, with participants selected purposively according to research criteria. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation, while data analysis was carried out descriptively and qualitatively to understand changes in students' learning interest before and after the improvement of facilities and infrastructure at SMB. The results show that: (1) the decline in student attendance in 2022 was due to the adequate availability of facilities and infrastructure at SMB, (2) at present, the facilities and infrastructure at SMB are sufficient to support the learning process. The temple management provides facilities such as comfortable classrooms and various supporting equipment for religious learning and other activities, thus creating a conducive learning environment, and (3) after the improvement of facilities and infrastructure, the average student attendance in SMB activities increased significantly. The availability of complete facilities and infrastructure enables the implementation of diverse and interactive learning methods, which can stimulate and sustain students' learning interest. This increase in learning interest aligns with Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory and the four-phase model of interest development, in which the fulfillment of basic physical and safety needs, along with engaging learning stimulation, positively contributes to the growth of students' intrinsic motivation, which in turn impacts their learning interest. Therefore, the provision of adequate learning facilities and infrastructure is proven to play a significant role in enhancing students' learning interest at SMB.

Abstract

Character education at the elementary school level serves as a crucial foundation in shaping students’ character from an early age. One of the initiatives implemented to support this goal is the Diary Kebajika program, which involves recording daily good deeds as a form of self-reflection. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Diary Kebajikan in character education at SD Sivaliputta, focusing on the process of implementation, supporting and inhibiting factors, as well as the improvement of students’ moral conduct. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. The research subjects included the principal, teachers, parents, and students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and written and visual documentation. Data analysis was conducted using the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, combined with the CIPP evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, Product), ensuring that the findings were not only descriptive but also interretative. The results indicate that the Diary Kebajikan program was effectively implemented due to the support of teachers, the involvement of parents, and the enthusiasm of students. The program successfully fostered honesty, discipline, care, politeness, and respect toward teachers and parents, reflected both at school and at home. Obstacles such as students’ negligence in writing or limited reading ability were addressed through teachers’ guidance and parental assistance. Interpretatively, the success of the program lies not only in the diary itself but also in the synergy among schools, families, and the learning environment, as emphasized in the educational philosophy of Ki Hajar Dewantara. Furthermore, the program aligns with Buddhist teachings through the Buddhist Five Precepts, the Sigalovada Sutta, and the cultivation of the Brahmavihāras. Thus, the Diary Kebajika contributes as a model of character education based on daily reflection that is contextual, religious, and sustainable in elementary education

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of synergy between parents and Buddhist Religious Education teachers in strengthening student character, particularly in shaping learners who are not only academically competent but also morally grounded. The main issue addressed in this research is the suboptimal role of both parents and teachers in accompanying the character-building process of students, as well as challenges in internalizing Buddhist values into students’ daily lives at SMK Metta Maitreya Pekanbaru. The objective of this study is to analyze the roles of parents and Buddhist Education teachers in character development, identify inhibiting factors, and propose strategies for character strengthening based on compassion values. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicate that parents significantly contribute to building foundational character values through role modeling, communication, and supervision. Meanwhile, Buddhist Religious Education teachers act as spiritual mentors and exemplars of Buddhist virtues, integrating values into teaching and behavior. Challenges found include limited parent-child interaction time and the continued focus on cognitive learning aspects. This research proposes a character education approach rooted in the “Culture of Compassion,” composed of three core elements: a heart of compassion, acts of compassion, and smiles of compassion. This integrative approach is expected to reinforce students' internalization of noble values comprehensively. The conclusion emphasizes that collaboration between parents and teachers is essential for holistic and sustainable student character development.
