Abstract

Limbah kulit nanas masih sedikit pemanfaatannya, padahal limbah tersebutmemiliki kandungan bermanfaat bagi tanah dan tanaman. Salah satu upayapengelolaan limbah kulit nanas adalah mengolah limbah tersebut menjadi PupukOrganik Cair (POC). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pertumbuhan tanaman cabai besar dengan POC dari limbah kulit nanas. Metode pemilihanvariasi komposisi dilakukan secara acak. Pengukuran karakteristik POC dilakukanoleh pihak ketiga. Pengamatan pertumbuhan cabai besar dilakukan secara langsung.Variasi sampel perbandingan (limbah kulit nanas, EM4, gula aren) antara lain yaituNA1 (3 kg, 50 ml, -); NA2 (3kg, 50 ml, +); NA3 (3 kg, 90 ml, -); NA4 (3 kg, 90ml, +). Hasil penelitian C-Organik, N, P, K, diketahui bahwa tidak ada yang memenuhi standar baku mutu.Namun sampel yang paling tinggi yaitu NA1 dengan nilai C-Organik 0,89 dan N,P, K 0,13. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan nilaiC-Organik, N, P, Kyang diperoleh dari limbah kulit nanas berdasarkan uji laboratoriumdengan variasi aktivator EM4 dan gula aren berada dibawah standar baku mutuPOC. Berdasarkan hasil tinggi tanaman, jumlah daundan jumlah bunga, yang paling optimal adalah sampel yang diberikan POC NA3 dengan jumlah limbahnanas 3 Kg, dan jumlah EM4 90 ml tanpa gula aren.

Abstract

Waste transportation in East Balikpapan District currently does not have an effective waste transportation route, this has resulted in not optimal waste transportation, which is indicated by the large amount of waste accumulated at the TPS. Based on these problems, East Balikpapan requires optimizing waste management, especially in waste transportation, to reduce the accumulation of waste in TPS, which can cause environmental pollution. The research procedure used is to optimize the Waste transportation route in the East Balikpapan District using a qualitative descriptive method. Through this method, this research can improve the waste transportation system at the research location by providing improvements that are modelled using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Determination of the most effective transportation route will be adjusted to the condition of the road being traversed, the distance travelled and the speed of the vehicle in the waste transportation process as well as the time it takes for the SCS (stationary container system) system to transport waste. Based on the existing conditions, transporting two dump trucks takes 7 hours, and one dump truck takes 6 hours and 30 minutes, with a distance of 69 km, 68 km and 104 km. The distance and time for transporting waste under existing conditions can be optimized with alternative routes, optimization results for the three dump truck fleets, namely the distance of 68 km with a time of 6 hours, a distance of 46 km in 5 hours and a distance of 68 km with a time of 5 hours in 2 trips per day.

Abstract

Kelurahan Baru Tengah, located in Balikpapan, is a densely populated area. Still, the lack of community participation and awareness in waste management is seen from the accumulation of waste outside the waste shelter (TPS). This condition has an impact on hygiene and public health. Waste accumulation outside the waste shelter can also be caused by inadequate TPS facilities or limited TPS capacity. Therefore, research was carried out to evaluate waste containers in Kelurahan Baru Tengah. This research was conducted through field observations and waste sampling per the procedures listed in the SNI. Waste sampling was conducted eight days at three residential locations based on house conditions and two waste shelter locations to determine waste generation, composition, and characteristics. The results of this study showed that waste generation for permanent housing was 0.13 kg/person/day, waste generation for semi-permanent housing was .0.13 kg/person/day, and for non-permanent housing was 0.21 kg/person/day. The waste composition in Kelurahan Baru Tengah was dominated by organic waste at 50%, consisting of food and vegetable and fruit waste. The characteristic test showed that the waste in Kelurahan Baru Tengah had a moisture content of 90% and a C/N ratio of 17.6%.

Abstract

Kutai kartanegara merupakan daerah pemasok buah nanas dan ayam pedaging di Kalimantan Timur, salah satu daerah produksi adalah di Kelurahan Bukit Merdeka, Kecamatan Samboja Barat. Produksi yang dihasilkan dari kegiatan pertanian nanas dan peternakan ayam pedaging menghasilkan limbah kulit nanas dan kotoran ayam. Jika tidak diolah, limbah ini berpotensi untuk mencemari lingkungan dan dapat menimbulkan penyakit. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengolah limbah kulit nanas dan kotoran ayam dengan penambahan limbah sayur bayam dan sawi sebagai pupuk organik cair (POC). Metode yang akan dilaksanakan adalah menggunakan komposter aerob dan anaerob dengan modifikasi tipe pengaduk. Pupuk yang akan dipanen, merupakan air lindi dari hasil proses pengomposan. Untuk mengetahui, karakteristik pupuk yang dihasilkan, akan diuji karakteristik pupuk organik cair seperti Nitrogen (N), Phospat (P2O5), dan Kalium Organik (K2O). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, terdapat perbedaan karakteristik air lindi yang dihasilkan, dimana hasil optimum karakteristik POC terdapat pada metode pengomposan Anaerob dengan penggunaan Tipe Pengaduk 1 dan Tipe Pengaduk 2.
