Abstract

This research aims to determine how different types of substrate affect the duration of growth during the fattening phase of mud crabs (Scylla serrata). Carried out for one month at CV.Elitsm NTT, in West Oesapa Village, Kelapa Lima District, Kupang City. Randomized Block Design (RAK) was used in this research which consisted of four treatments and replications. The treatments given include: Muddy substrate with mangrove leaves (A), Muddy substrate (B), Mangrove leaf substrate (C), and Without substrate (D). The findings show that the use of muddy substrates with mangrove leaves provides the most beneficial results in accelerating the growth period during the mud crab fattening process. In 14 days after cultivation, the mud crabs were already developing well. Keywords: Mangrove crab (Scylla serrata), fattening and substrate.

Abstract

The African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) presents an opportunity for cultivation due to its rapid growth and high adaptability, making it a common choice for both industrial and household cultivation. This study aims to assess the growth and survival rates of African catfish (C. gariepinus) and compare these metrics between different groups. The research, spanning one month, will be conducted in two villages, Oelbubuk Village and Haumenibaki Village, located in the South Central Timor Regency. The methodology involves direct observation and sampling, with 100 catfish fry samples collected from each location, ranging in size from 5 to 9 cm. Parameters measured include growth in weight and absolute length, survival rates (SR), and water quality. Data collected will be analyzed descriptively and presented in tabular format. Preliminary findings indicate favorable growth and survival rates in Haumenibaki Village. Keywords: Survival rate, catfish and growth

Abstract

The cultivation of pearl lobster (Panulirus ornatus) needs to be observed growth rate and survival which can indicate a success rate during rearing. This can be used by the surrounding community as an effort to support the community's economy. To find out the picture of the growth rate, weight, and survival of pearl lobsters cultivated in Thousand Mouth. Observed parameters growth rate, weight and survival of pearl lobster. Observation parameter data in the form of growth, survival and water quality. The data obtained in the form of growth with the results of Baby lobster showed K1 0.072 gs, K2 0.063 gs, K3 0.055 gs, K4 0.057 g and K5 0.074. While the daily growth rate for lobster enlargement is K1 1.356 gs, K2 1.289 g, K3 1.422 g, K4 1.4 g and K5 1.333 g. But at graduation the results of Baby lobster showed K1 95%, K2 95%, K3 96%, K4 98% and K5 55%. While lobsters for rearing maintenance are K1 87%, K2 79%, K3 9%, K4 76% and K5 82%. The results showed that the growth rate of weight / day in lobsters enlargement size was greater than baby lobsters. While baby lobsters have a better survival rate than lobsters of enlargement size, this is due to the nature of cannibalism among adult lobsters when experiencing a moulting period. And the temperature and salinity of seawater still meet the feasible value of pearl lobster cultivation, which is the temperature range during the study of 26-27 ° C, where the minimum temperature value is 26 ° C and the maximum temperature value is 27 ° C. For salinity values ranging from 34-35 ppt, so that the quality of water in the mouth waters of a thousand said is suitable for pearl lobster cultivation. Keywords: Growth, Survival, Pearl Lobster

Abstract

This study lasted for 30 days in the Laboratory of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Marine and Fisheries. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and three replications, consisting of treatment A lighting for 24 hours, treatment B lighting for 12 hours and treatment C without lighting. The parameters observed in this study were the brightness of the orange and white colors on the body of the nemo fish, as well as water quality data. The results showed that the quality of the orange and white colors on the body of the nemo fish increased with the length of lighting time. The results of the ANOVA test showed that the treatment of the length of lighting time had a significant effect on the brightness of the orange and white colors in the nemo fish. Treatment A with lighting for 24 hours showed the quality of the orange color with a score of 3.5 ± 0.17b and white 3.0 ± 0.0c which was better than treatments B and C. While the lowest quality of orange and white colors occurred in treatment C (without lighting) namely orange with a score of 2.2 ± 0.17a and white with a score of 2.0 ± 0.0a. Keywords: Nemo fish, exposure time, orange, white.

Abstract

This research was carried out at BBIP Tablolong, Kupang Regency for 60 days. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of feeding snails (Achatina fulica) on the growth of white snapper (Lates calcarifer). The design used was RAL with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions, namely (A) f999 pellets 5% of the biomass weight (control), (B) snails 5% of the biomass weight, (C) snails 10% of the biomass weight, (D) snails 15% of the biomass weight. The parameters measured in this study are Absolute Weight Growth, SGR, SR, FCR, Feed Efficiency. The research results prove that treatment (B) Snails 5% of biomass weight is the best dose for the growth of white snapper with an absolute weight growth rate of 8.3 g, SGR reaching 0.048%g/day, SR of white snapper 90%, FCR 1.36 g, and feed efficiency value reaching 73.44%. Keywords: Snail, sea bass, growth

Abstract

Vaname shrimp farming (Litopenaeus vannamei) became one of the alternative fisheries production that is growing rapidly in this region, because promising prospects and profits. The purpose of this study was to determine description of water quality conditions required for the development of vaname shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) aquaculture in coastal Toineke Village, South Central Timor District. This study was conducted in coastal waters South Central Timor District (TTS), Kualin District, in Toineke Village for two weeks. Based on the results of water quality research it can be concluded that location A has a pH value of 4.9, dissolved oxygen of 0.6 ppm, nitrate of 0.005 mg/l and location B pH value of 5.34, dissolved oxygen of 0.59 ppm, nitrate of 0.009 mg/l, water quality that has been measured at location A and location B indicates that both locations do not qualify as vaname shrimp farming sites. Based on the research results obtained there are several water quality parameters that do not meet the optimal threshold. Researchers suggest water quality management. Keywords: Vaname shrimp farming (Litopenaeus vannamei).
