Abstract

Rumput laut tidak memiliki akar, batang, dan daun yang sejati akan tetapi keseluruhan rumput laut disebut talus. Salah satu produk yang dihasilkan dari rumput laut K. alvarezii adalah karaginan. Karaginan merupakan senyawa polisakarida dan dimanfaatkan dalam bidang industri, pangan dan farmasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji studi pertumbuhan dan kandungan karaginan dari rumput laut K. alvarezii pada yang terkena penyakit ice-ice. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan selama 45 hari mulai dari bulan juli sampai bulan September 2021 di perairan Pasir Panjang, Kota Kupang. Rumput laut dibudidayakan menggunakan metode long line. Pengujian Kandungan Karaginan dilakukan di Laboratorium Fakultas Kelautan dan Perikanan, Universitas Nusa Cendana. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dengan setiap umur panen berbeda yaitu umur panen 15 hari, 25 hari, 35 hari, dan 45 hari. Hasil penelitian kandungan karaginan tertinggi pada umur panen 45 hari 33,3%. Hasil ANOVA menunjukkan perlakuan umur panen berbeda memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kandungan karaginan rumput laut K. alvarezii. Abstract

Kappaphycus alvarezii merupakan salah satu jenis rumput penghasil karaginan yang sering ditemukan di perairan NTT. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh limbah panas PLTU terhadap kualitas air dan pertumbuhan rumput laut K. alvarezii. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan selama 45 hari terhitung dari bulan Juni hingga bulan Agustus di Perairan Bolok Kecamatan Kupang Barat, Kabupaten Kupang. Rumput laut K. alvarezii dibudidaya menggunakan metode long line pada empat lokasi budidaya yang berjarak 1 km, jarak 2 km, jarak 3 km, dan jarak 4 km dari PLTU Bolok. Data-data yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian berupa kualitas air, pertumbuhan harian dan pertumbuhan mutlak akan dianalisis secara deskriptif dan disertakan dengan tabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa limbah panas PLTU Bolok memberikan pengaruh terhadap kualitas air dan pertumbuhan rumput laut pada lokasi budidaya dengan radius terdekat yaitu 1 km. Nilai hasil pengukuran kualitas air diperoleh dengan suhu berkisar antara 27-32°C, pH 6,0-7,6, salinitas 30-35 ppt, DO 1,9-3,9 mg/l dan kecepatan arus 0,14-0,28 cm/dtk. Hasil pengukuran laju pertumbuhan harian rumput laut K. alvarezii pada lokasi budidaya dengan radius 1 km yaitu sebesar -2,18 gr%/hari. Sedangkan laju pertumbuhan mutlak yang diperoleh selama 45 hari pemeliharaan mendapatkan berat sebesar -39,23 gram. Abstract

Ikan hias merupakan salah satu komoditas ekonomi yang sangat potensial di Indonesia. Warna ikan hias badut merupakan salah satu faktor yang sangat berpengaruh terhadap penjualan ikan badut. Warna menjadi indikator keindahan pada ikan hias. Untuk dapat menigkatkan warna pada ikan badut, maka pakan yang diberikan harus mengandung zat atau senyawa karatenoid. Sumber karatenoid dapat dihasilkan dari buah-buahan, sayur- sayuran dan hewani. Salah satu bahan yang kaya dengan sumber karotenoid adalah kulit buah naga merah yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kualitas warna pada ikan Badut (A. ocellaris). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di UPT Tambak Oesapa, Kelurahan Oesapa, Kecamatan Kelapa Lima, Kota Kupang selama 2 bulan dan terdiri dari tiga perlakuan yaitu perlakuan A (10% tepung kult buah naga), Perlakuan B (20% tepung kulit buah naga) dan Perlakuan C (30% tepung kulit buah naga).hasil yang didapati yaitu perubahan warna terbaik dengan nilai tertingi yaitu pada perlakuan A sebesar 7,73. Selain itu, Perlakuan A juga memperoleh laju pertumbuhan tertinggi dibandin perlakuan lainya yaitu sebesar 0,87 g serta kelulushidupan tertinggi sebesar 66,66%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa formulasi pencampuran tepung kulit buah naga merah dan pellet komersil sebagai pakan ikan badut yang terbaik yaitu pada perlakuan A (10% tepung kulit buah naga). Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of different lights on cannibalism in cantang grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus lanceolatus) fry and to find out what types of colors can suppress cannibalism. The test fish used were 36 cantang grouper seeds of the same size, namely 6-8 cm. 3 fish were kept in each unit/research container. The experimental design used RAL with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions. The treatments consisted of treatment A (red light), treatment B (blue light), treatment C (green light) and treatment D (no light). The results of the research show that the influence of different light colors greatly influences fish mortality and growth and treatment B with blue in this study can suppress cannibalism and growth of cantang grouper. Absolute length growth was 1.1 cm in treatment B, and absolute weight growth was 2.2 g in treatment B (blue).

Abstract

Cantang grouper (E. fuscoguttatus-lanceolatus) is a fish commodity with high economic value. Sargassum sp seaweed is a high source of nutrition because it contains protein, carbohydrates, fat in small quantities and ash content consisting of salt, sodium and potassium. This study aims to show how Sargassum sp is given and test how much the dose of Sargassum sp administration on the growth rate of grouper. The research was carried out from November 2021 to January 2022 at the Undana fishery pond, Semau. The results showed that different doses of Sargassum sp had a significant difference in influence on growth but did not have a difference in the effect on the survival of cantang grouper. The best dose applied in this study was 10% which was able to produce mitlak growth of 41.11 cm. However, the long growth of cantang grouper has no real effect.

Abstract

This research aims to determine socio-economic perceptions before and after the distribution of Bolok PLTU waste towards seaweed cultivation activities, carried out for 1 month in Kuanheum and Oenaek waters, West Kupang District. Data collection was carried out randomly from 30 respondents in both villages. The results of this research show that the distribution of PLTU Bolok waste has an impact on the socio-economic life of seaweed cultivators. This can be seen from the results of the Paired sample T-test showing a significance value of 0.000 < the 2 tailed significance value of 0.05, which means H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Where after social life waste such as cooperative interactions decreased to 63.3%, competition increased to 40%. Conflict increased by 33.45%, the number of cultivators decreased by 96.7%, population migration increased to 30% and farmers switching jobs decreased to 53.4% and children dropping out of school decreased by 10%. Meanwhile, after the waste of economic life, such as the use of personal capital decreased by 50%, loan funds increased by 50%, the use of ropes decreased by 100%, seaweed production decreased by 90%, and income decreased by 100%, production turnover decreased by 83.4% and additional farmer employment decreased by 53.3%

Abstract

This research was experimental in nature which was carried out by observing the response and behavior of cantang grouper to the color of the light. The research was carried out by spreading food in containers with different colored lights. From the food spread in containers with different lights, we can see the response and behavior shown by the cantang grouper to each color of light. Apart from that, research was also carried out to determine the level of cannibalism and mortality rates in each container with different lights. This research is using experimental method. The research design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with 4 treatments and 3 replications using blue, yellow-green and no light. The research was carried out by measuring water quality 3 times a day, starting in the morning, afternoon and evening for 14 days of research. The conclusion of the research is that outside its natural habitat the best response and behavior is when living in a blue treatment container (treatment A). It is thought that in blue light the cantang grouper feels like it is in its natural habitat. Apart from that, blue light also reduces the level of cannibalism in cantang grouper fish compared to green and yellow light, and no light. Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the growth rate and carrageenan content in Kappahycus alvarezii seaweed by comparing the use of 25-day-old selection seeds, unselected seeds and tissue culture seeds. This research was carried out in Oenaek waters for 3 months. observations of growth directly in the cultivation site while for carrageenan content were carried out at the Undana FPKP Laboratory. The results showed that the use of 25-day-old selection seeds can increase the growth rate and carrageenan content in seaweed. The highest absolute growth reached 267.8 grams, while the highest daily growth was 5.146%/gr as well as the carrageenan content which reached 6.32%. Abstract

Kappaphycus alvarezii, a type of red algae from the Rhodophyta group, produces carrageenan which has various important uses in the food industry, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and other sectors. The global demand for carrageenan makes it a commodity that is in demand on the international market. This research aims to identify the characteristics of K. alvarezii seaweed cultivators, carry out financial analysis, and identify the obstacles faced and how to overcome them in the cultivation business. The research results show that the majority of cultivators in Akle Village have cultivation experience of around 11-19 years (48%), low education (31% have not completed elementary school), age range between 20-60 years (87.5 %), and the number of family dependents is 4 people (25%). The seaweed cultivation business in Akle Village, South Semau District, Kupang Regency is considered feasible to continue based on Break Even Point (BEP) and Benefit Cost Ratio (BC) analysis. The obstacles faced include disturbances from turtles, fish and ice-ice disease, which can be overcome by making fences from trawls and using superior seeds. Abstract

One of the carrageenan-producing seaweed is Kappaphycus alvarezii which grows in the waters of NTT. The purpose of this study was to determine the carrageenan content and growth depth of K. alvarezii seaweed. From October 25, 2022 to December 15, 2022, research was conducted for 45 days in the waters of Tablolong, West Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. The longline approach was used to grow K. alvarezii seaweed. This method has three treatments and three replicates with treatment I 10 m apart, treatment II 20 m apart, and treatment III 30 m apart. Data on daily growth, absolute growth, carrageenan content, and water quality obtained from the results were then analyzed using ANOVA and added into graphs. The findings showed that the growth and carrageenan content of seaweeds in the sea around Tablolong Village were affected by different depths. K. alvarezii seaweed has the largest absolute growth in treatment C, which is 156 g, while treatment A has the lowest growth value, which is 135g. Treatment C also has the highest carrageenan content of 92.9%, while treatment A has the lowest carrageenan content of 67.7%. The results of this study indicate that the growth and carrageenan content of K. alvarezii seaweed is influenced by water depth. Keywords: Kappaphycuz alvarezii, carrageenan, depth and growth
