Abstract

Kata kunci: Perempuan, Kepemimpinan, Pendeta Perempuan, Majelis Perempuan, Adat ABSTRACT The culture of the Betaf community is different in its view of the position of men and women. Women are considered unfit to be a leader. This can be seen in the life of the Petra Betaf congregation where women do not have the opportunity to become leaders (head of the congregation). This is also seen in the leadership structure of the Daily Implementation of the Congregation Assembly, where all those who occupy each structural position are men, and of the 14 members of the total Assembly only 4 female Assembly members, and the 4 female Assembly members do not occupy structural positions in the leadership of the Congregation Assembly. Therefore, the researcher wants to examine two important things, namely How is the Betaf Community's view of Female Pastors and Female Congregation Assemblies? What is the impact of the Betaf community's views on female pastors and female congregation councils? How is women's leadership in the Bible? The research method used in this studyis qualitative research. Qualitative research means extracting information and data in accordance with what has happened in the field. The results of research in the field show that the Betaf community considers women as weak people so that women do not have the opportunity to develop themselves in the world of leadership. The impact of the Betaf community's view on female pastors and female congregational assemblies is that many women are not involved in social leadership and church services in the Betaf community. Biblical texts also record many things related to women's leadership at that time, even giving space for women to become prophets such as Deborah in the Old Testament and Hannah who served in the temple in the New Testament. Abstract

Abstract

Human life is inseparable from the condition of the surrounding natural environment. Nature and humans are two sides that mutually depend on each other and should be responsible for maintaining and preserving one another. However, due to population growth and its accompanying needs, humans have exploited the environment for their own benefit. The Kampwolker River is one of the victims of human behavior that no longer respects or preserves its natural surroundings. Ecotheology is used by the authors to examine the relationship between faith, God, and the environment. This study focuses on Christian teachings that can function in ecological awareness and human responsibility toward nature. The research questions are: What are the causes of environmental damage around the Kampwolker River? What are the impacts of environmental damage in the Kampwolker River area? To what extent have concrete actions been taken by the Church, Government, and Local Customs to preserve the environment around the Kampwolker River in Perumnas 3 Waena? The objectives of the research are: 1. To identify the causes of environmental damage around the Kampwolker River. 2. To examine the impact of environmental damage in the Kampwolker River area. 3. To assess the concrete actions taken by the Church, Government, and Local Customs in preserving the environment around the Kampwolker River. The approach used in this research is a descriptive qualitative approach. The research results show that humans are indeed responsible for maintaining nature, but it is the actions of humans that have led to environmental damage. The local community around the Kampwolker River uses nature without maintaining it; trash is dumped in the river, and plantations are established in strategic areas prone to landslides. The community does this because they do not fully understand the long-term impacts on them. The Kampwolker River is the main source of clean water supplied by the Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM).

Abstract

Abstract

Oil palm expansion in Papua has deepened the deforestation crisis and presents problems that are not only ecological, but also social, cultural, and theological because they are related to changes in indigenous peoples' relations to land, forests, and sources of life. This research aims to formulate a synthesis of Papuan contextual ecotheology by placing land as a relational living space and nature as a creation that must be read in the context of contemporary ecological crises. The research uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach based on secondary data from open-access scientific literature relevant to the themes of deforestation, oil palm expansion, indigenous Papuans, relational cosmology, and contextual ecotheology. The analysis process was conducted through literature selection, thematic mapping, and narrative synthesis to identify key patterns of findings. The results show that deforestation due to oil palm expansion in Papua cannot be understood solely as land cover change, but rather as a relational crisis that disrupts indigenous peoples' relationships with land, sago, forests, food, and the wider web of life. This synthesis also shows that Papuan contextual ecotheology needs to be built by integrating creation theology, ecological justice, and local ecological knowledge in order to be able to respond to the reality of extractivism more sensitively and transformatively. This article contributes to the development of ecotheological studies in Indonesia by offering a conceptual framework that places Papua as an important locus for the formation of a theology that is contextual, ecological, and in favor of the dignity of indigenous peoples.
