Abstract

The rapid development of the digital era has significantly influenced the lives of adolescents, particularly in their mindset, behavior, and moral values. The vast and fast-paced access to information is often not accompanied by adequate critical filtering skills, which can lead to moral crises and a loss of direction. In this context, the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, compiled in Riyaadhussholihin by Imam Nawawi, serve as a relevant moral compass for today's youth. This study aims to examine the role of the hadiths in Riyaadhussholihin as a guide for moral direction in facing the challenges of the digital age. Utilizing a library research method with a descriptive-qualitative approach, this study finds that the content of the hadiths in the collection contains noble values such as honesty, responsibility, simplicity, restraint of speech and actions from negative behavior, and self-control. These values are crucial to instill in the younger generation to help shape a strong, ethical, and wise character capable of navigating the currents of globalization and digitalization. Character education based on hadiths emerges as an alternative solution to strengthen the moral identity of Muslim youth today.

Abstract

This study discusses the basis of leadership in Islamic religious education taken from the Qur'an and Hadith. Leadership in the context of religious education has an important role in shaping the character and morals of students. The Qur'an emphasizes that leaders must be just, wise, and responsible. In Surah Al-Baqarah verse 30, Allah SWT states that humans are made as caliphs on earth, which requires each individual to lead with full responsibility and carry out the mandate. In addition, the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW also provides concrete examples of good leadership, such as in managing community affairs and education. The Prophet said, "Each of you is a leader, and each of you will be held accountable for those he leads." Through this study, it was found that the basis of leadership in Islamic religious education is not only focused on the intellectual aspect, but also includes spiritual and moral dimensions. Therefore, it is important for educators to internalize the leadership values contained in the Qur'an and Hadith in order to create a generation that is not only academically intelligent but also has noble morals. This study is expected to provide a contribution to the development of religious education leadership based on Islamic values.

Abstract

Character education is a fundamental aspect of shaping individuals with noble character. In Islam, the hadiths of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ contain numerous character values that serve as life guidelines, such as honesty, trustworthiness, patience, justice, and compassion. This article aims to examine the hadiths related to character education using thematic and contextual approaches. Employing a literature study method, this research collects, categorizes, and analyzes hadiths concerning noble character, then correlates them with the current socio-cultural context. The findings indicate that the values in hadiths are not only relevant for forming Muslim personalities during the Prophet’s time but are also highly applicable in addressing moral challenges in the modern era. The thematic approach aids in systematically summarizing moral messages, while the contextual approach enriches understanding of the original spirit of the teachings. This study recommends integrating hadith-based character values into education as part of an effort to build a generation with strong ethics and integrity.

Abstract

The hadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) mentions three deeds that continue to benefit a person after death: ongoing charity (ṣadaqah jāriyah), beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who prays for their parents. This hadith conveys a profound message about the importance of child education as a spiritual investment. This article aims to examine the urgency of children’s education from the perspective of this hadith by exploring the spiritual and social significance of having a righteous child as a continuous source of reward. This study employs a qualitative approach through library research, drawing on collections of hadith, classical Islamic literature (turas) such as the works of Imam al-Ghazali, Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, and Imam Nawawī, as well as contemporary references from nationally accredited journals. The findings indicate that educating children possesses a transcendental dimension, making it a form of ongoing charity for parents—especially when the child grows to be righteous and contributes positively to society. This research recommends that the concept of child education should not be viewed solely from a worldly perspective but should also be instilled as part of eschatological awareness within the Islamic education system.

Abstract

Abstract

The sources of Islamic law are everything that becomes the basis for regulating the order of life of Muslims. Most scholars agree that the Koran is the main source of Islamic teachings, then hadith is the second source, and ijtihad is the third source. The Qur'an contains a collection of all the rules for whatever situations and conditions experienced by mankind. Rasulullah SAW as the recipient of the revelation explained the meaning of the Al-Qur'an both in words and deeds. The words and actions of the Prophet are known as hadith. In this way, the Al-Qur'an can be easily implemented by Muslims in their daily lives as a form of obedience to Allah SWT. However, when the Prophet died, there was no longer any place to ask about Islamic law, while world problems continued to develop along with the times, the Qur'an and hadith themselves ordered the ulama to undertake ijtihad to establish a new law for problems that did not exist. The law is in the Koran or hadith. In this way, the ijtihad of ulama is used as the third source of Islamic law. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative research type with library research (library study). The aim of the research is so that readers can know and understand the sources of Islamic teachings so that they are motivated to create a life in accordance with religious guidance.
