Abstract

In November 2021, Covid-19 vaccination coverage in the special capital area (DKI) Jakarta stage 1 (one) reached 78.1% and stage 2 (two) 60.4% for local identity cards (KTP) DKI Jakarta. Covid-19 vaccination coverage for area the Palmerah District stage 1 (one) has reached 96.56% but unfortunately for stage 2 (two) it has not met the expected target. In order to reduce the Covid-19 case, the regional administration (Pemda) of DKI Jakarta has continued given education and socialization to increase public awareness in implementing health protocols and providing Covid-19 vaccinations to the public.Another problem that occurs in the Palmerah District is the increase cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). This increase is due to the rainy season which is the breeding time for the Aedes Aegepty mosquito. DHF can be prevented through controlling the Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN) programme. Public awareness for healthy behavior and maintaining a mosquito-free home environment is still lacking therefor counseling and training are needed for the community to prevent dengue.Since the Covid 19 pandemic, the Dental Health Education Program could not be implemented in Palmerah Health Center due to pandemic and limited resources. Providing dental health education (DHE) to health cadres will increase oral health in community. The results obtained after the training significantly increased the knowledge of the cadres and community members who participated in the event. Thus this collaboration program should continue regularly to maintain knowledge and health practice in community.

Abstract

Kata kunci: Akses Sanitasi; Diare; Tingkat rumahtangga; Balita Access to clean water sources is a major human need, and it is the responsibility of the state to ensure that all citizens have access to the proper source of clean water. The study aims to analyze safe access of sanitation related to diarrheal disease in rural and urban areas based on IDHS 2017 data at the National household level. An analytical, cross-sectional design by using a database of Indonesia’s Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS)-2017 from the Demographic and Health Survey Agency, from October to December 2022. By total sampling of under-5 children from the household database, and sub-set sampling of 2.359 under-5 with diarrhea out of 16.615. The instruments used were specific data of IDHS questionnaires on household and women's section i.e. women of childbearing age (WUS), children's age, sex, mother's education, area of residence, latrine facilities, and sources of drinking water as access to sanitation of requirement. The analysis was performed by descriptive and chi-square test analysis with software of SPSS version 25 and a significance level of <0.05. Failure to maintain the integrity of the water supply could develop epidemics of waterborne diseases, illnesses, and transmitted diseases through faecal contamination of drinking water. The overflow of wastewater into open fields and ditches or the mismanagement of solid waste of human habitation could result in vector-borne diseases, especially for high-risk populations such as U-5 children. This situation is not only the health sector’s responsibility but also other sectoral roles. Without good cooperation and sharing of responsibilities, health problems related to WASH will not be completely resolved Keywords: Access Sanitation; Diarrhea; Household-level; Under-5

Abstract

Health efforts to reduce the risk of health problems in infants under one month old include three neonatal visits (KN1-KN3). These visits aim to increase neonatal access to basic health services and detect infant abnormalities early. Services, provided by doctors, midwives, or nurses, can be conducted at health centers or through home visits, involving infant examinations and counseling for mothers. Community service activities include refreshing cadres, home and partner visits, making reporting barcodes for partners and health promotion for mothers. The results showed significant relationships between mothers' knowledge (p = 0.018), beliefs (p = 0.003), and attitudes (p = 0.039) with the neonatal visits conducted. Continuous education for health cadres about the importance of complete neonatal visits is essential to achieve comprehensive service coverage for infants under one month old.

Abstract

The Indonesian government implemented various health procedures, including home isolation, to mitigate SARS-CoV-2 transmission. Despite these efforts, understanding public readiness for self-isolation is crucial. This study aimed to assess self-awareness and preparedness for home isolation during the initial phase of the COVID-19 pandemic (January-April 2020). Employing an analytical cross-sectional design, data were collected from 1169 participants (household heads, spouses, and elderly members ≥60 years) in 11 sub-districts of Limo Depok, West Java, Indonesia, using a validated scoring questionnaire on internal and external perceptions of home isolation. Descriptive analysis and Fisher's Exact test (p<0.05) were performed. Findings revealed a predominant female participation (66% aged ≥60 years), with case categories comprising 3% suspicious, 3.4% travelers, and 93.7% non-confirmation cases; 32% had comorbidities. A critical external factor was high population density, with only 19% of residential locations meeting excellent standards. Strikingly, only 20.5% of participants expressed willingness to practice home isolation. This study underscores a significant gap in the public's willingness and environmental suitability for effective home isolation. Raising awareness and empowering families to independently curb transmission are crucial. Lessons from local COVID-19 cases emphasize the vital role of collaborative management and network development among local stakeholders to enhance pandemic response strategies.
