Abstract

Vaginal discharge is a perennial problem for women. The effects of this vaginal discharge include infection, pelvic inflammatory disease, infertility, and even excessive anxiety and self-confidence. Excessive and uncontrollable anxiety causes stress. Based on previous research related to adolescent vaginal discharge, there are several factors that can cause an increase in vaginal discharge including knowledge, attitudes and behavior, and age at menarche, but coping with stress and the frequency of vaginal discharge is higher in Makassar city where there are more people with 388,070 women between the ages of 15 and 19 who have the potential to experience reproductive health problems, it is important to conduct research to improve the health of young women, especially among adolescent girls. This study aims to determine the relationship between female adolescent stress levels and complaints of vaginal discharge in female adolescents at Makassar State High School in 2022. The type of research used was cross sectional using a descriptive approach. Based on the results of the analysis showed there was a relationship vaginal discharge to stress (0.017), age at menarche (0.021) and personal hygiene (0.032). It is recommended to continuously improve knowledge through technological advances, such as using the internet to search for reproductive health information for adolescents, especially young women.

Abstract

Abstract

Nurses are highly susceptible to work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). This is due to their role as an integral part of the healthcare team that serves to bridge communication between doctors and patients and facilitate the delivery of healthcare services in hospitals. Musculoskeletal disorders are one of the most frequently reported among various types of Occupational Diseases (PAK). The risk of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) can be predicted based on individual, psychosocial, and ergonomic factors. The purpose of this community service is to improve nurses' knowledge regarding ergonomics as an effort to prevent musculoskeletal disorders in nurses at RSUD Labuang Baji Makassar. The method used in implementing this socialization is the lecture method. The results of the t-test showed a significant influence on increasing the knowledge of nurses at RSUD Labuang Baji Makassar after being given education with a p-value =0.000.

Abstract

Background: Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem in children caused by prolonged inadequate nutritional intake, with long-term negative impacts on their growth and development. The main causes include insufficient nutrition during pregnancy and early childhood, as well as a lack of maternal knowledge about nutrition and limited access to healthcare services and sanitation. Interventions during the First 1000 Days of Life (HPK) are crucial in preventing the rise in stunting rates and the burden it imposes on both society and the government. This study aims to determine the effect of the Information Motivation and Behavioral Skills (IMB) Model on increasing motivation for stunting prevention. Method: This study is a quantitative research using a quasi-experimental approach with a pre-post test design with control group, conducted in Bontomanai Village with 74 respondents divided into two groups: intervention and control. The sample was selected using purposive sampling. The intervention group received treatment using the IMB model through a lecture method, while the control group did not receive any treatment. Data were collected through questionnaires before and after the intervention and analyzed using SPSS with the Wilcoxon test to measure changes in motivation related to stunting prevention behaviors. Results: The study shows that the IMB (Information-Motivation-Behavioral Skills) model has a significant impact on increasing motivation for stunting prevention in Bontomanai Village. In the intervention group, there was a significant increase in motivation from pretest to posttest with a P-value = 0.003, whereas in the control group, the increase in motivation was not significant with a P-value = 0.231. These results confirm the effectiveness of the IMB model in enhancing motivation in the group that received the intervention. Conclusion: This study concludes that the IMB (Information-Motivation-Behavioral Skills) model significantly increases motivation for stunting prevention in Bontomanai Village, as evidenced by the significant statistical results in the intervention group. In contrast, there was no significant change in motivation in the control group, indicating that the IMB model is effective in boosting motivation compared to the group that did not receive the intervention.

Abstract

Digital data collection skills have become essential for students in the field of health administration. KoboToolbox is an open-source platform that offers ease in creating survey forms as well as collecting and managing data, both online and offline. This community service activity aimed to introduce and train students from the Health Administration program of the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences in the use of KoboToolbox. The methods used included theoretical socialization, direct platform demonstration, independent practice by participants, and evaluation of understanding through pre-test and post-test assessments. This activity was enthusiastically attended by 254 students. Evaluation results showed an increase in the average score from 45.0 in the pre-test to 83.6 in the post-test, reflecting a 38.6-point improvement. This improvement indicates the effectiveness of the socialization and hands-on practice approach in enhancing participants' digital literacy, particularly in the context of health data collection. Challenges encountered included internet connectivity issues and initial adaptation to the platform interface, which were overcome through intensive guidance. It is expected that the skills gained from this activity can be applied in academic work, research, and field practices in the future, and serve as a crucial asset to support technology-based health information systems.
