Abstract

ABSTRACT Mitra in Padang Tegal, Ubud, are representatives of waste collection sites and organic waste processing facilities. This TPS has a large customer base due to its strategic location in the Monkey Forest tourist area, surrounded by numerous hotels and restaurants. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, however, many hotels and restaurants closed, resulting in a significant decline in revenue for Rumah Kompos. This resulted in salary reductions and a reduction in the number of employees. This increases work-related stress, which increases the risk of hypertension. Education regarding the dangers of hypertension and how to overcome it, as well as education regarding the branding and marketing of compost produced by the Padang Tegal Traditional Village Compost House, is a promising solution for reducing work stress among site employees. This. 30 workers from the Compost House participated in the extension activity. The effectiveness of counseling is determined by comparing post-test and pre-test scores, with the average post-test score rising by 40%. In addition, management staff participants expressed satisfaction with the compost marketing strategies counseling. After evaluation and monitoring, it was determined that more than 70 percent of employees who smoked were able to reduce their smoking by more than 50 percent compared to before the program.

Abstract

Abstract

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted Peliatan Traditional Village, Ubud, which relied heavily on tourism. The drastic drop in visitors triggered economic hardship and affected community health. Recognizing untapped local potential, this program introduced herbal plant cultivation and biopore technology as sustainable alternatives for improving health and livelihood. Objective: To build community capacity in cultivating herbal plants and managing household organic waste through biopores, thus supporting long-term health, economic resilience, and environmental sustainability.Method: The program involved 30 PKK (Family Welfare Movement) members through education on herbal plants, cultivation techniques, health applications, and hands-on biopore construction. Pre- and post-tests, along with field mentoring, were conducted to assess impact.Result: Participants’ knowledge increased by 35%. All created biopore holes at home, and 20% harvested compost within three months. The initiative also sparked interest in continuing herbal cultivation independently. Conclusion: Education on herbal use and biopore application proved effective in enhancing health awareness and environmental practices. Abstract

The government system in Indonesia, the village or ward, is the lowest organizational unit of government. The rural population is the essential capital of development. If the rural population can be fostered as well as possible, then it is hoped that it will become a very valuable human resource for development. In this regard, the government establishes policies, especially in the area of equal distribution of opportunities to obtain education and information for all Indonesians, that are directed at increasing the nation's intelligence and increasing the ability to participate in development activities. Batu Putih Kenek is a village area with a population that is classified as not too dense. Through the latest data obtained from the village office and the results of interviews with the head and village officials, we obtained data on the population of Batu Putih Kenek Village, namely 2,965 people, with details by gender, namely male population = 1,390 people and female population = 1,573. In implementing the village library, many obstacles arise, among them inadequate human resource competence, low public interest in reading, a limited number of collections, and the most dominant problem, the limited budget for the development of the library itself. Even though the library has a significant and strategic role as a partner in supporting the national goal, namely educating the nation's youth, the allocation of funds for library development still needs to be improved. Because this problem is fundamental in nature, it directly impacts all library development programs at all types and levels, especially at the village or ward library level.
