Abstract

Indonesia has great potential in the coconut industry to improve regional and national economies through coconut production and its derivative products, although coconut production by small farmers is still low. With an annual production of 18.30 million tons and a market share of 30.24% of world coconut production, Indonesia is one of the largest coconut producers in the world. Coconut production is concentrated in large islands such as Sumatra, Java, and Sulawesi, with an average productivity of 11.36 tons per hectare in 2014. Pure coconut oil (Virgin Coconut Oil or VCO), which has been proven to be beneficial for health, is increasingly in demand along with the trend of natural and pure healthy foods. The community of Padang Bolak District, this great potential has not been fully utilized due to various obstacles such as technology, capital, and uneven market absorption. This study aims to identify factors (price, production, distribution, labor, technology, capital, skills, potential) that are relevant in improving the welfare of the community in Gunung Tua Baru Village, North Padang Lawas Regency. With a sample size of 134 respondents collected through questionnaires and data processing using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Multiple Linear Regression, the results of the CFA analysis showed that of the eight factors analyzed, there were four factors that significantly influenced the welfare of the community in Gunung Tua Baru Village, namely production, labor, capital, and technology. The results of multiple linear regression showed that these four factors significantly influenced the improvement of community welfare. Simultaneous hypothesis testing also showed that production, labor, capital, and technology positively and significantly influenced the welfare of the community in Gunung Tua Baru Village. Thus, increasing production, labor, capital, and technology is very much needed to optimize the potential of coconuts and improve the welfare of the community in Padang Bolak District.

Abstract

A significant trend in the business sector that arose in reaction to the advancement of information and communication technology (ICT) is the digitization of micro, little, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). One important endeavor to help MSMEs' growth and competitiveness in the digital age is the digitalization of MSMEs through e-commerce. Here are some advantages and strategies for using e-commerce to digitalize MSMEs. MSMEs can take advantage of digital potential for long-term company growth with the correct tactics. There are numerous coastline tourism attractions in Kota Pari, including Mutiara 88 Beach, Woong Rame Beach, and Pondok Permai Beach. Because of this, Kota Pari is a popular tourist attraction. The marketing of MSME goods made in Kota Pari may benefit from this potential. Presenting the advantages and disadvantages of digitization for MSMEs is the aim of this study. The instance of Kota Pari village was also highlighted. Using library research and literature study techniques, this study took a qualitative descriptive approach. According to the study's findings, MSMEs players' income has been shown to rise when their products are promoted through digital marketing, technology-based initiatives like the Internet of Things, and operational and non-operational activities. The digital transformation process, however, may be complex and often challenging for MSMEs. Among the primary problems MSMEs face are limitations in their financial and human resources.

Access to financial resources is essential for farmers to invest in necessary agricultural inputs, while favorable market prices significantly impact their earnings. The role of local institutions, such as Village Economic Enterprises (BUMDes), is also emphasized as vital for supporting farmers. The study employs a descriptive qualitative methodology, utilizing field data and literature to analyze the interplay of these factors. Findings underscore the necessity for targeted interventions, including training programs, access to credit, and infrastructure improvements, to bolster farmers' economic conditions and promote sustainable agricultural practices. Overall, this research contributes to understanding and enhancing the welfare of farmers in Klambir V Kebun Village, ensuring their economic sustainability and improved quality of life.

Abstract

This study's goal was to outline the opportunities and challenges of how digitization will affect MSMEs. We combined publication trends from numerous papers using the qualitative methodology to find them. We found that the process of digitizing MSMEs involves switching from analog to digital technologies in order to improve the efficacy and efficiency of MSMEs business operations. The digitization of MSMEs has compelled stakeholders in MSMEs businesses to change corporate governance from outdated techniques to more contemporary ones. For MSMEs, becoming digital involves more than just utilizing technology to sell goods. Additionally, MSMEs will be able to manage their accounts, track their cash flow, and buy raw materials online as a result of digitization. As a result, digitization is crucial to the whole operation of MSMEs business activities.
