Abstract

This article explores the dynamics of cultural transmission and educational curriculum development in Indonesia. In the context of Indonesia's cultural diversity, values such as gotong royong, religiosity, and local wisdom become the main foundation. The discussion includes the integration of cultural values in the curriculum, the drivers of character education, and the challenges of technological globalization. Technology and globalization play an important role in changing the way culture is conveyed and understood. Therefore, this article highlights the importance of technology-wise integration in the education curriculum, while maintaining the essence of local values. Community participation is a key element, emphasizing the need for collaboration with parents, communities and stakeholders to achieve harmony between local culture and global needs. National education policies also play an important role, and this article analyzes how policies can reflect community aspirations and support cultural transmission through the education system. Innovation and creativity are in focus, ensuring that curricula spur the development of critical and collaborative skills in line with local values. Overall, this article underscores the importance of a holistic approach involving the government, educational institutions, communities and relevant stakeholders in an effort to achieve an optimal balance between local traditions and global preparation. The dynamics of cultural transmission and curriculum development in Indonesia are key elements in shaping the next generation who not only understand, but also appreciate the nation's rich culture while preparing for global dynamics.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in shaping the character and personality of the younger generation. In the current era of globalization, which is characterized by rapid changes and widespread external influences, the role of teachers in character education, especially in the application of cultural values, has become even more vital. Teachers are not only responsible for teaching academic subjects, but also for guiding students in understanding, appreciating, and applying cultural values in their daily lives. The increasing challenges of globalization, such as the erosion of local cultures and values, make it even more critical for educators to play an active role in nurturing a strong sense of identity and cultural awareness in students. This research aims to explore and describe the various efforts made by teachers to instill cultural values through character education in students, particularly in the context of globalization. The study seeks to identify the methods and strategies teachers use to effectively incorporate cultural values into their teaching practices. The research utilizes a descriptive qualitative approach, employing data analysis techniques based on the Miles and Huberman model. The subjects of this research are teachers from SD Negeri 18 Air Tawar Selatan, who are directly involved in the process of character education. The results of this research reveal that teachers at SD Negeri 18 Air Tawar Selatan make significant efforts to instill cultural values in their students. One of the key strategies used is the decoration of classrooms, which serves as a visual reminder of cultural heritage and values. Additionally, teachers integrate cultural values into the curriculum, ensuring that lessons are not only academically enriching but also culturally relevant. Through these efforts, teachers create an environment that fosters cultural awareness and encourages students to take pride in their cultural identity. The research highlights the importance of these practices in shaping the future of students, ensuring that they grow up to be individuals who respect and uphold the cultural values of their society, even in the face of globalization.

Abstract

Kemajuan pesat teknologi memberikan berbagai macam keuntungan dan manfaat. Keterbukaan dan akses mudah menuju informasi ternyata memberikan peluang menjadikan teknologi sebagai media pembelajaran yang produktif. Pandangan skeptis dan tradisional pendidik terkadang menghambat pemanfaatn maksimal dari transformasi sosial dan teknologi di dalam pembelajaran dan pengajaran. Tujuan dari studi liteartur ini adalah menggambarkan bahwa pemanfaatanmedia sosial dalam proses pembelajaran siswa. Metode dalam studi ini adalah studi/tinjauan literature. Studi literature akan mengakses publikasi dan tulisan yang memiliki kaitan dengan topic yaitu penggunaan media sosial dalam pembelajaran dan model teori yang mendukung pemanfaatan media sosial dalam pembelajaran. Hasil studi literature ini mendapatkan bahwa penggunaan media sosial dimanfaatkan dalam pedagodis pembelajaran, Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter dan Tiktok merupakan media yang sering digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran, teori konstrukvis sosial dan penerimaan teknologi merupakan pendekatan teori yang digunakan dalam pemanfaatan media sosial dalam pembelajaran. Pentingnya untuk mengelaborasi dan optimaliasi penggunaan media sosial sebagai media pembelajaran merupakan peluang untuk memperkuat proses pembelajaran pedagogis yang lebih peka terhadap perubahan dan trend.
