Abstract

Inefficient waste management often leads to negative impacts on the environment, health, and the economy of the community. One solution to address this issue is through the waste bank program, which not only reduces waste volume but also provides additional economic value to the community through recycling processes. This program is important for realizing a sustainable economy, especially in urban areas facing increasingly complex waste problems. This community service aims to enhance community participation in waste bank management in Gunung Anyar Tambak Village, as well as assess its impact on the local economy and environment. The applied methods include socialization to raise awareness about waste sorting, training for waste bank managers, and the implementation of a community-based waste management system. The results of this activity show a significant increase in community participation, from 25% to 60% within three months. Additionally, several families earned extra income from recycling waste. This program has also successfully raised environmental awareness among the community. The sustainability of the program requires further support from various parties, especially in strengthening capacity and maintaining existing facilities. Overall, this waste bank management shows great potential in creating a sustainable economy and improving the quality of life for the community.

Abstract

Banking institutions that provide sharia-based services in Indonesia still have a smaller number of customers compared to conventional banks, even though Indonesia is a country with the largest Muslim population in the world. Therefore, this study aims to observe customer satisfaction with Islamic banking services and help managers evaluate their performance. This research was conducted using big data analysis from reviews given by the public regarding 3 Islamic banks in Surabaya through the Google Maps website, including: Bank Syariah Indonesia Surabaya Jemur Handayani, Bank Syariah Surabaya Branch Office Dharmawangsa, and Bank Syariah Surabaya Branch Office Darmo. By using the textual review method, it is hoped that this research can provide an overview of social perspectives regarding service quality and customer satisfaction with Islamic banks and provide input for managers so that they can advance the Islamic economy, especially in Indonesia.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship education is a critical driver of entrepreneurial skills and mindsets, yet its implementation often faces inequities, particularly in developing countries like Indonesia. Urban high schools, primarily on Java Island, benefit from practical learning opportunities, while rural and underdeveloped regions lack resources and access. This study investigates these disparities by exploring the experiences of university students enrolled in business-related courses about the entrepreneurship education gained during high school across diverse provinces. Using purposive sampling and inductive thematic analysis, the research captures perspectives from both developed and underdeveloped regions, highlighting the inequitable access to entrepreneurial opportunities. The findings show that urban schools provide more hands-on activities, like product creation and market engagement, while rural students face fewer opportunities and resources. The study highlights the need for practical learning methods and blended approaches to reduce these gaps. By offering insights for policymakers, this research aims to promote fair and effective entrepreneurship education programs. Addressing these regional disparities could make entrepreneurship education a powerful tool for socio-economic development, empowering students across Indonesia and fostering innovation in underserved areas.
