Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara tropis yang selalu disinari matahari sepanjang tahun. Sinar matahari dapat berdampak buruk bagi kesehatan kulit karena mengandung sinar ultra violet. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk mencegah efek buruk paparan sinar matahari dengan menghindari paparan yang berlebihan dengan menggunakan tabir surya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi tabir surya pada tanaman daun senduduk (Melastoma malabathricum L.). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis untuk penentuan nilai SPF. Hasil ekstrak etanol daun senduduk positif mengandung alkaloid, flavanoid, saponin, steroid, dan tanin. Nilai SPF yang dihasilkan dari ekstrak etanol daun senduduk konsentrasi 100 ; 400 ; dan 700 ppm menghasilkan nilai SPF sebesar 17,28 ; 31,4 ; dan 40 yang dikategorikan sebagai proteksi ultra.

Abstract

Academic stress is a form of psychological pressure that arises due to an imbalance between the demands of lectures and the ability of individuals to meet these demands. This study aims to determine the effect of academic task load on the stress level of students of the Faculty of Da’wah and Communication Sciences of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. This research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods, and involves 41 students as respondents selected by purposive sampling technique. Data instruments in the form of questionnaires have been tested for validity and reliability. The results of this study show that there is a significant influence between academic task load on student stress levels. R Square is 0.527, which means that the academic task load contributes 52.7% to the stress level of students, while the remaining 47.3% is influenced by other factors outside the X variable.

Abstract

Advancements in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) have led to the development of systems capable of ef iciently solving various complex tasks. However, behind these achievements lie significant theoretical challenges that limit AI's capabilities. This article discusses the primary limitations of AI, including computational complexity, dif iculties in generalization, knowledge representation constraints, and challenges related to bias and ethical implications. Furthermore, it explores opportunities arising from these limitations, such as the development of hybrid models, energy-ef icient approaches, and improved algorithm interpretability. By examining these challenges and opportunities, this study aims to provide deeper insights into the future direction of AI development. An interdisciplinary approach is proposed as the key to addressing theoretical challenges and responsibly expanding AI's potential.

Abstract

Introduction: Dental caries remains a common oral health problem among school-aged children and is associated with oral hygiene practices and plaque control. In Indonesia, its high prevalence highlights the need for effective preventive strategies. Conventional toothbrushes rely mainly on mechanical plaque removal, which may be limited in children due to variations in brushing technique. Recent developments have introduced nanotechnology in toothbrush bristles, where nanosilver is incorporated into the bristle material and has been reported to exhibit antibacterial and anti-biofilm properties that may support plaque control during brushing. However, evidence of its effectiveness in children remains limited. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of nanotechnology toothbrush bristles in maintaining oral hygiene among children aged 9–12 years. Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a control group pre-test and post-test approach. A total of 62 children aged 9–12 years were included: the experimental group using nanosilver-bristled toothbrushes (n=31) and the control group using conventional toothbrushes (n=31). All participants received the same toothbrushing instruction at baseline. Oral hygiene was assessed using the Patient Hygiene Performance (PHP) index on selected index teeth representing anterior and posterior sextants, measured at baseline and after a 21-day intervention. As the data were not normally distributed, the Wilcoxon signed-rank test and Mann–Whitney U test were used. Results: Baseline PHP scores were comparable between groups (p>0.05). After the intervention, the mean PHP score in the experimental group decreased from 3.87 ± 1.074 to 1.51 ± 1.040 (61.0% reduction; p<0.05). In the control group, the mean PHP score decreased from 3.38 ± 0.734 to 2.88 ± 0.799 (14.8% reduction; p<0.05). The reduction in PHP scores was significantly greater in the experimental group (p<0.05). Conclusion: Toothbrushes with nanosilver bristles were more effective than conventional toothbrushes in improving oral hygiene among children aged 9–12 years.
