Abstract

Banyak multimedia belajar aritmatika untuk siswa SD yang beredar di masyarakat. Apakah berisi materi aritmatika secara lengkap, serta benar secara konsep dan proses? Apakah menggunakan bunyi yang sesuai dengan materi, nyaman dan menggugah untuk belajar? Apakah gambar (bentuk, warna, proporsi, dan animasi) sesuai dengan materi dan karakter siswa SD? Untuk mengetahui hal tersebut diperlukan alat ukur multimedia belajar aritmatika untuk siswa SD. Diperlukan metode survey terhadap 30 keping CD belajar aritmatika untuk siswa SD kelas I sampai kelas VI dari berbagai produksi. Hasil observasi, dapat menentukan alat ukur multimedia belajar aritmatika untuk siswa SD yang valid dan reliabel. Diperoleh indikator utama dalam mengukur komponen isi/materi, audio dan visual multimedia belajar aritmatika untuk siswa SD. Alat ukur komponen isi/materi menggunakan sembilan indikator, komponen audio lima indikator, dan komponen visual 10 indikator. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa kandungan isi/materi belum lengkap. Diperlukan peningkatan penyampaian materi secara konsep dan proses berdasar sembilan indikator. Terutama kreativitas dalam memberikan materi, gerak visual (animasi) dalam menyimulasikan materi, dan penggunaan ikon yang mudah dan tidak rumit. Ditinjau dari audio, terdapat kelemahan dalam: 1) komposisi musik dari beberapa karya yang sudah ada (tidak orsinal), 2) hubungan musik dengan visual gerak dan materi bahan ajar, sehingga musik hanya berfungsi sebagai pelengkap, 3) pengolahan warna bunyi dalam musik (timbre) secara menarik dan komunikatif, 4) musik yang merupakan suatu rangkaian komposisi yang utuh, 5) musik yang memotivasi siswa, 6) perhatian terhadap unsur-unsur elemen dasar musik dan instrumentasi, 7) arransemen yang terolah terkesan monoton. Ditinjau dari komponen visual, terdapat kekuatan dalam: 1) penggunaan warna yang meriah, 2) warna warni yang jelas tapi lembut, 3) tampilan bentuk yang tidak biasa, 4) bentuk mengarah ke fantastik. Kelemahan yang sangat tinggi ditunjukkan dalam: 1) pengolahan unsur gerak visual yang monoton, 2) pengolahan unsur gerak visual yang kaku, 3) pengolahan unsur gerak visual yang tidak sesuai dengan alur penyampaian materi. Abstract

The objective of the study were to develop learning plan and describe the implementation and results of student learning through problem-solving approach in order to improve the communication skills of students in solving mathematical case test problems. A model of classroom action research was used and held in April 2010 at SDN 1 located at Saguling Village, District of Baregbeg, Ciamis Regenc, West Java Province. Data collection was conducted in 3 cycles out of 28 fourth grade students and a teacher who acts as a reseacher of the study. Research instrument consisted of assessment format of lesson plan, format observation of teaching activities nd learning actvities, student worksheet and test. Data were analyzed using a triangualation method, saturation, and common sense. The result revealed that the mathematical problem solving approach was one of alternatives to improve the communication skills of students in solving mathematical case test. In order to improve students mathematical communication skills, it is advisable to use Polya problem solving approach. Similarly, evaluation test should contain aspects that demonstrate mathematical ideas in the form of images, linking images to the sentences and complete the process of the algorithm. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan rencana pembelajaran dan menggambarkan pelaksanaan dan hasil belajar siswa melalui pendekatan pemecahan masalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi siswa dalam memecahkan masalah uji kasus matematika. Sebuah model penelitian tindakan kelas digunakan dan dilaksanakan pada bulan April 2010 di SDN 1 di Desa Saguling, Kecamatan Baregbeg, Ciamis Regenc, Provinsi Jawa Barat. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan 3 siklus dari 28 siswa kelas IV dan guru bertindak sebagai peneliti studi. Instrumen penelitian terdiri format penilaian RPP, format pengamatan kegiatan mengajar dan kegiatan belajar, lembar kerja siswa dan tes. Data dianalisis menggunakan metode triangualation, saturasi, dan akal sehat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan pemecahan masalah matematika adalah salah satu alternatif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi siswa dalam memecahkan kasus uji matematika. Dalam rangka meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa, disarankan untuk menggunakan pendekatan masalah Polya. Demikian pula , uji evaluasi harus mengandung aspek yang menunjukkan ide-ide matematika dalam bentuk gambar, menghubungkan gambar ke kalimat dan menyelesaikan proses algoritma.

Abstract

This experimental study was conducted to investigate students’ mathematical communication and problem solving abilities by using problem based learning (PBL). The subjects of this study were 67 student teachers from a State University in Bandung. Instruments of this study were a mathematical communication test and a mathematical problem solving test. The data were analyzed by using one and two path anova, Mann Whitney test and chi square test. The study found that: (1) Students’ mathematical communication and problem solving abilities in PBL classroom were higher than those of students of conventional classroom; (2) The advantage of PBL were also supported by the findings that mathematical communication and problem solving abilities of students with  low initial ability were higher in PBL classroom compared to those ofconventional classroom;  (3) There was significant correlation between mathematical communication and problem solving abilities; (4) There were no interaction between teaching approaches and prior mathematics ability on students’ mathematical communication and problem solving abilities.

Abstract

The use of media in the learning process is very helpful for students' understanding, but in mathematics learning especially the traveling material and the wide flat area the use of media is still rarely used. One of the media that can be used is the pop-up book media which is a form of book packed with a three-dimensional structure with a part that can be moved and played. Researchers developed a pop-up book media concept around and wide flat area for fourth-grade elementary school students. The method used is Design-Based Research (DBR) which goes through four stages including problem identification, prototype development, due diligence, and reflection to produce the final product. This research shows that; 1) the development of pop-up book media is made according to the curriculum as well as from predetermined indicators, 2) pop-up books are made using the canva application and printed on 260 gsm art paper A3 size, 3) the use of pop-up book media the circumference and area of the flat build area are suitable for use in the learning process, in terms of the results of validation and testing. Product trials were conducted at two schools, which were reviewed from students' responses and observations during learning. In the learning process students are very enthusiastic about learning using pop-up book media, this is indicated by the positive response to the pop-up book media with the results achieved 96.54% and 99.78%, 4) the final product of this study is in the form media pop-up book concept around and wide flat area that is suitable for use. Abstract

Practically mathematical learning is often carried out through the provision of learning facilities to achieve the goal of skillfully solving the problem. Probably, quite a lot of mathematics learning is done through the provision of learning experiences to find rules or formulas. However, there is not much mathematics learning that provides the learning experience of mathematics along with the values of the learning mathematics developed in each student. In general, this paper writes about what and how to learn maths of value, so as to characterize. In particular, this paper writes about the notion of learning mathematics, characters, and learning mathematics that develop character. This article is to be understood and acted upon by teachers, student prospective teachers, parents, and the general public in increasing knowledge and stimulus in developing the willingness and learning ability and teaching students/children about mathematics.

Abstract

The design and learning of STEM in elementary schools are still not widely used in learning in elementary schools. STEM learning is relevant to the 2013 curriculum, like the current. Thematic learning. Thus, it is necessary to develop a STEM learning design, using development based research, namely EDR (Educational Design Research). The goal is to produce STEM learning projects that have been designed in the form of lesson plans for fifth-grade elementary school students. The method used in this research is development based research, namely EDR (Educational Design Research) with data collection techniques including interviews, discussions, observations, document analysis or documentation studies, and questionnaires. The subjects in this study were fifth-grade elementary school students. This article presents the analysis and exploration results, which is the first stage in this research, covering initial orientation, literature study, field-based investigations, field visits, professional meetings, and networking. This study aims to confirm that STEM learning in the 2013 curriculum is very appropriate for supporting the fulfillment of 21st-century skills for elementary students. The products produced from the first stage are problem definition, long term goals, partial design requirements, and initial designs.Keywords: STEM Learning, 2013 Curriculum, 21st Century Skills====================================================================================================Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan desain pembelajaran STEM di Sekolah Dasar dengan menggunakan penelitian berbasis pengembangan yaitu EDR (Educational Design Research). Penelitian ini menghasilkan proyek pembelajaran STEM yang telah dirancang yaitu RPP (Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran) untuk siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Artikel ini menyajikan hasil analisis dan eksplorasi yang merupakan tahap pertama dalam penelitian ini, meliputi orientasi awal, studi literatur, investigasi berbasis lapangan, kunjungan lapangan, pertemuan profesional, dan jejaring dilakukan melalui berbagai metode: wawancara, diskusi, observasi, dan analisis dokumen dengan strategi meliputi: strategi sintesis kebijakan, bidang potret, kumpulan persepsi, dan analisis SWOT. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu mengkonfirmasi bahwa pemeblajaran STEM dalam kurikulum 2013 sangat tepat diterapkan dalam mendukung terpenuhinya keterampilan abad 21 bagi siswa Sekolah Dasar. Produk yang dihasilkan dari tahap pertama adalah definisi masalah, tujuan jangka panjang, persyaratan desain parsial dan desain awal.Kata kunci: Pembelajaran STEM, Kurikulum 2013, Keterampilan Abad 21

Abstract

This article explains how to analyze test items in arithmetic operation with fractions to obtain the items' level of difficulty and fitness. Data were collected by using multiple-choice questions given to 50 fourth-grade students of an elementary school in Tasikmalaya city. The answers were then analyzed using the Rasch model and Winsteps 3.75 application, a combination of standard deviation (SD) and logit mean values (Mean). The score data of each person and question were used to estimate the pure score in the logit scale, indicating the level of difficulty of the test items. The categories were difficult (logit value +1 SD); very difficult (0.0 logit +1 SD); easy (0.0 logit -1 SD); very easy (logit value –SD). Three criteria were used to determine the level of difficulty and fitness of the questions: the Outfit Z-Standard/ZSTD value; Outfit Mean Square/MNSQ; and Point Measure Correlation. It resulted in a collection of test items suitable for use with several levels of difficulties, namely, difficult, very difficult, easy, and very easy, from the previous items, which had difficult, medium, and easy categories. Rasch model can help categorize questions and students' ability levels.

Abstract

Lack of problem solving ability elementary school students in learning mathematics with fractions. The application of solving mathematical problems of fractions has not been carried out optimally. The provision of mathematics learning media is still very minimal, especially in problem solving, so that it becomes an obstacle to increasing problem solving abilities. Learning media is now not only visual media, there are many kinds of media that can be accessed, such as audio-visual media. Video is one of the audio-visual media that can help the learning process. Now it has been widely circulated on various social media, YouTube channels and learning applications making it easier for students primary schools can access learning. However, not all learning videos are in accordance with the learning objectives, many mathematics learning videos have not achieved the basic competence of mathematics, namely solving mathematical problems. Students' difficulties in solving fractional number problems. The study aims to analyze the feasibility of mathematics learning videos in improving the problem solving abilities of elementary school students. This research approach uses descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques are through literature studies and documentation studies. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The result of this research is a video feasibility analysis of students' fractional number completion.
