Abstract

Occupational safety and health is an important aspect in the industrial world, including the furniture industry. If a company implements the Occupational Health and Safety well, it can reduce the risk of work accidents, thereby increasing work productivity. Work accidents can occur due to workers’ negligence or suboptimal implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety System. To reduce the risk of work accidents, a risk analysis is carried out, which is one part of risk management. One of the risk analyses that can be done is by using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method. Risk identification in the furniture industry is based on field reviews, which then assess the severity (S), occurrence rate (O), and detection level (D). Then the assessment results are sorted to determine the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) value variable. In the furniture production process, there are various potential hazards, with the highest RPN found in the cutting process, where a machine incident occurred with an RPN value of 120. The severity factor is given a value of 6 because the error leads to torn injuries and equipment damage, so it must be handled immediately, and there is the repair of the damage. One effort to reduce the risk of work accidents is to provide PPE at work.

Abstract

In today's development, many games are played by all groups, from small children to adults and older people. This game can be used for fun or as a learning medium. This game can also be used to increase public knowledge, one of which is regarding occupational safety and health. There is a game that can be used to improve understanding in society, namely monopoly. Therefore, this research aims to determine the effectiveness of monopoly learning media, which contains occupational safety and health "safetypoly", in increasing public knowledge regarding Occupational Safety and Health. This study used a quantitative research approach with a pre-experimental type of research. The research design used in this study was the One Group Pretest-Posttest Control Design. Data collection methods include questionnaires, observation, and interviews. The data analysis methods used in this research are the Validity Test, Reliability Test, Normality Test, and Wilcoxon Test. The "Test Statistics" output is known as Asymp based on the research results.Sig. (2-tailed) is worth 0,000. The value of 0.000 is smaller than <0.05, so there is a difference between the pre-test and post-test results. Apart from that, there was an increase in workers from 20% to 80%. It can be concluded that the safetypoly game influences students' level of knowledge regarding the dangers of chemicals, so this game is effectively used as an educational medium related to occupational safety and health.

Abstract

Child safety education as an effort to increase safety awareness in schools   Abstract: A school is a place where children spend most of their time learning, playing, and developing, but in reality, children are exposed to many hazards (multi-hazards) when they are at school, so many safety incidents occur at school due to physical, biological and ergonomic hazards. and psycho-social which results in children experiencing minor to serious injuries, contracting diseases, and becoming victims of violence in the school environment, whether reported or not. On the other hand, the lack of optimal implementation of safety culture and minimal knowledge among students regarding the prevention and handling of safety hazards in schools prompted the team to carry out this activity, with the aim of increasing safety awareness in schools in dealing with multi-hazard threats to children through training activities by using the snake and ladder safety educational game tool. The method consists of 3 stages, namely: the preparation stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation stage. This activity has received an ethical certificate 314/KEPK/FK/KLE/2024 from the Health Research Ethics Commission, Faculty of Medicine, UNNES. The activity results showed a significant increase in the average student knowledge, namely from 44 to 77 (up 33 points). Therefore, the school's commitment to providing education through innovation in various educational media is very much needed to increase school resilience, especially by increasing school residents' knowledge and awareness regarding safety aspects.

Abstract

Safety is a human right, on the other hand, many schools in Indonesia are located in disaster-prone areas. Children are the most vulnerable group during disasters or emergencies, especially children with special needs, so the role of the government through schools is very important to protect them and provide them with basic skills to be able to survive in emergencies. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of the safety education content in teaching materials at Special Elementary Schools (SD LB) as an effort to improve the knowledge and abilities of children with special needs in dealing with emergencies. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The unit of analysis in this study is all teaching materials at SD LB. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out by means of observation, document studies and semi-structured interviews with representatives of the principals of SD LB. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively and quantitatively to describe the percentage of the distribution of safety education content in teaching materials at SD LB. The results of this study show that the content of safety education for children is already included in the teaching materials for special education from grades 1 to 6 in special elementary schools for the blind, deaf, mentally retarded, physically disabled and autism.

Abstract

Psycho-social hazards in children at school include violence against children, peer victimization, discrimination, heavy academic pressure and bullying. The impact of psycho-social hazards on children is very serious, such as children becoming low self-esteem, aggressive, depressed, injured, drug abuse, experiencing personality disorders, tending to want to hurt themselves and even wanting to commit suicide. On the other hand, parenting styles, students' socio-economic conditions and the influence of gadgets and social media can make children more exposed to psycho-social hazards, whether at school, in their families or in the environment where they live. Manifestations of existing problems include students committing physical violence at school, mocking friends, and even threatening their school friends, whether the school knows about it or not. The aim of this activity is to increase children's knowledge regarding potential psycho-social hazards at school and know how to prevent them. Implementation methods include: 1) preparation stage, 2) implementation stage and 3) evaluation stage. This activity has received an ethical certificate no. 313/KEPK/FK/KLE/2024 from the Health Research Ethics Commission, Faculty of Medicine, UNNES. The results of this activity obtained an increase in teacher knowledge by 2 points, namely from an average of 83 to 85, while the average student knowledge increased significantly, namely from 53 to 80 (an increase of 27 points). Therefore, learning innovation through various media, including educational game media, is very necessary to accelerate the increase in children's knowledge which can be obtained more enjoyably.
