Abstract

Student learning motivation is an important component in the educational process that influences student success, especially in Indonesian language subjects in elementary schools. This research aims to analyze the factors that cause students' low learning motivation towards Indonesian language subjects. This research uses a qualitative approach using interviews and observations in class V of SD Negeri 106811 Bandar Setia. The research results show several factors that influence students' low learning motivation, such as personal interest, perception of subjects, teaching methods, learning environment and availability of learning resources. This research provides practical recommendations for educators and stakeholders to increase student learning motivation in Indonesian language subjects in elementary schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi keterkaitan antara kompetensi pedagogik guru dan pencapaian akademik siswa dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SD Negeri 106811 Bandar Setia. Menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional, hasil penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa kompetensi pedagogik yang tinggi pada guru berkontribusi secara signifikan terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Peningkatan kompetensi pedagogik dapat dicapai melalui perencanaan pembelajaran yang matang, penerapan metode pengajaran yang bervariasi, serta evaluasi yang berkelanjutan. Hasil penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa penguatan kompetensi pedagogik memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran di tingkat sekolah dasar. Dengan mengoptimalkan perencanaan dan pelaksanaan pembelajaran, diharapkan prestasi siswa dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia dapat meningkat secara signifikan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the learning problems faced by fifth-grade students at SDN 101775 Sampali, particularly regarding the role of parents in supporting their children's learning process. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using observation and interviews with the homeroom teacher as the main data source. The results indicate that the low level of parental involvement negatively affects students’ learning attitudes and academic achievement, such as poor academic performance, tardiness, absenteeism, and weak basic reading skills. Economic factors and parental fatigue are the main reasons for the lack of guidance at home. This study emphasizes that parental involvement plays a crucial role in supporting children's motivation, resilience, and academic success. Collaboration between schools and parents is an essential strategy to create a more conducive and supportive learning environment for students’ overall development.
