Abstract

This research is a quantitative study aiming to examine the effect of implementing the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model integrated with STEM on the critical thinking and creativity skills of students at SMAN 1 Pademawu. The sample consisted of 60 respondents, including 28 students in the control class and 32 students in the experimental class. The sampling technique employed was random sampling. Data collection was conducted by administering pre-tests and post-tests consisting of five essay questions that assessed critical thinking and 24 questionnaire items measuring creativity. Validation and analysis were performed using validity and reliability tests, normality and homogeneity tests, t-tests, and N-Gain tests, all analyzed using SPSS version 27. The test results indicate: 1) Significant Influence: The implementation of the STEM-integrated Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model significantly influenced students' critical thinking, as indicated by an independent samples test significance value for critical thinking (Sig. 2-tailed) < 0.001 < 0.05 and for creativity (Sig. 2-tailed) < 0.001 < 0.05. These results indicate significant differences in the average critical thinking and creativity scores between the control and experimental classes after the intervention; 2) Improvement in Skills: The STEM-integrated PjBL model significantly improved students' critical thinking and creativity, as evidenced by the descriptive N-Gain mean for critical thinking being 93.9591 in the experimental class > 53.8191 in the control class, and the mean for creativity being 81.6743 in the experimental class > 21.6814 in the control class; 3) Effectiveness: The implementation of the STEM-integrated Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model was categorized as effective in enhancing students' critical thinking and creativity based on Hake’s R.R. criteria, with critical thinking scores of 93.9591 > 76 and creativity scores of 81.6743 > 76.

Abstract

General Background: Environmental degradation caused by improper used cooking oil disposal is a growing concern in Indonesia. Specific Background: Although waste management has received scholarly attention, the integration of project-based environmental education within Islamic schools (madrasahs) remains underexplored. Knowledge Gap: Existing studies prioritize large-scale technical waste solutions, overlooking student involvement and curricular integration at the grassroots level. Aims: This study investigates the planning, implementation, and outcomes of the “P5RA – Transforming Waste into Blessings” initiative through project-based learning. Results: Conducted in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Bangkalan with 329 students, the program improved students’ character, creativity, and entrepreneurial skills by converting used cooking oil into marketable products like emergency stoves and aromatic candles. Novelty: This research introduces a unique integration of TPACK-based project learning, a DIY oil distillation device, digital literacy assessment tools, and an Islamic techno-ecopreneurship model—a first in madrasah contexts. Implications: Findings highlight the potential of structured, values-based project learning to foster environmental awareness, entrepreneurship, and character formation among students, offering a replicable model for other Islamic educational institutions seeking sustainable education practices.Highlight : Emphasizes project-based education through P5RA in managing used cooking oil waste. Integrates TPACK framework to foster environmental awareness and creativity. Strengthens students’ character and entrepreneurship through sustainable practices. Keywords : P5RA, TPACK, Used Cooking Oil, Waste Management, Sustainable Lifestyle

Abstract

This study aims to develop an LMS-based learning media specifically designed to improve the engagement of students at SMA Negeri 1 Ketapang through an approach that integrates cognitive, affective, and behavioral aspects in digital learning. Using a Research and Development approach with the ADDIE model, the study involved 180 students in grades X and XI who were selected through purposive sampling. Research instruments included the Student Engagement Scale (reliability α = 0.89), the Technology Acceptance Model (reliability α = 0.85), and a learning outcome test (validity CVR = 0.78), with data analysis using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed a significant increase in student engagement: cognitive 34%, affective 41%, and behavioral 38% (p < 0.001). Correlation analysis revealed a strong relationship between student engagement and learning outcomes (R² = 0.72), with the gain score of the experimental group reaching 13.3 points versus 3.3 points for the control group. The system usage rate reached 89% of students with minimal access of 5 days per week, demonstrating the effectiveness of the developed LMS in transforming digital learning into a more interactive and meaningful experience.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of mobile app-based learning media in supporting blended learning implementation at SMPN 1 Banyuates. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest model and control group. The research subjects were 62 eighth-grade students divided into an experimental group (n=32) and a control group (n=30). The experimental group used interactive mobile apps integrated with face-to-face learning, while the control group followed conventional learning. Data were collected through learning achievement tests, student engagement observation sheets, and perception questionnaires. Results showed that the experimental group experienced an average score improvement of 11.63 points compared to 5.47 points in the control group. Independent t-test yielded p-value = 0.008 (p < 0.05) with Cohen’s d = 0.52, indicating a statistically significant moderate effect. These findings suggest that mobile app usage in blended learning effectively improves student learning outcomes, although there remains room for further optimization.

Abstract

The 21st century competencies identified by the Partnership for 21st Century Skills (P21) include communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. However, the achievement of these competencies is often hampered by the lack of student learning motivation. This study aims to evaluate the application of project-based learning (PjBL) assisted by Kahoot media in differentiated learning in class IX-H MTsN Bangkalan. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative with a CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation approach. The results showed that choosing the right learning media context can increase student motivation and creativity. Innovation in PjBL learning combined with differentiated learning is proven to increase active student involvement. The well-planned learning process reflects the success of classroom management by the researcher. In addition, the achievement of evaluation results shows that students feel more motivated and enthusiastic in participating in learning and show increased creativity in the assigned tasks. The fun assessment atmosphere also contributed to the positive learning experience. The implication of this study shows that the implementation of PjBL with Kahoot media can be an effective strategy to increase students' motivation and engagement in differentiated learning
