Abstract

Recently, we need to be wary of the condition of nationalism among students, several cases show students experiencing a nationalist identity crisis. These symptoms are reflected in the attitudes and behavior of students as the younger generation loves foreign culture more than their own culture. Nationalist values are increasingly declining, such as not being able to recite the principles of Pancasila, the song Indonesia Raya and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika as well as a tendency to increase conflict and violence in resolving problems that occur between them. This research aims to explore the process of internalizing nationalist attitudes through history learning at school. The subjects of this research were students of Madrasah Aliyah Ma'arif 7 Banjarwati Paciran Lamongan using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out using interview, observation and documentation techniques. The research results show that the attitude of nationalism is internalized through three stages, namely 1) transformation of values with an understanding of, among others, tolerance, responsibility, cooperation, love of peace, respect for differences; 2) value transactions are carried out by teachers by means of habituation, example, contextual examples and the use of learning media; and 3) transinternalization of values is characterized by enthusiasm for learning, mutual respect, responsibility and the ability to work together as well as enthusiasm for achieving achievements and discipline in flag ceremonies and commemoration of national holidays.

Abstract

Religious truth is a transcendental truth, absolute truth. The presence of religion is required to be actively involved in regulating the course of life and to be able to solve various problems in society. If so then religion must be able to answer all the problems that arise. The problem is whether religious teachings will solve various problems if only studied with a normative theological approach? According to the writer's opinion, to understand religion, various other alternative approaches are needed, which operationally can provide answers to various problems that arise. The alternative approach includes a sociological approach. The importance of this sociological approach is given the many religious teachings related to social problems. In several verses of the Qur'an it is written an order to believe and then accompanied by an order to act righteously, as in Surah an-Nisa [4] verse 36 there is an order to worship Allah and a prohibition against associating partners with Him followed by an order to do good to both parents, close relatives, orphans, the poor, close neighbors and distant neighbors, colleagues and so on. The sociological approach has a very important role in trying to understand the meanings, symbols that can be found in religion. With this sociological approach, religion will be easy to understand and can be carried out easily too.

Abstract

This community engagement program aimed to enhance the understanding of Arabic grammar (nahwu) among students (mahasantri) at the Ma’had Aly of Sunan Drajat Islamic Boarding School. Using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, the program empowered senior mahasantri as peer facilitators to guide small study groups through contextualized grammar lessons. The activities were conducted over a three-month period in the dormitory environment and included initial coordination, group formation, material development, intensive mentoring sessions, and periodic evaluations. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ mastery of nahwu, the development of a collaborative learning culture, and increased confidence in reading classical Arabic texts. The program successfully integrated pesantren values with participatory learning strategies. These outcomes suggest that this model can serve as a reference for similar Arabic learning initiatives in other Islamic boarding schools
