Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan pendampingan masyarakat Tikala dalam pengembangan ekowisata Marimbunna di Kelurahan Tikala, Kabupaten Toraja Utara. Pendidikan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat merupakan fokus utama penelitian ini, dengan tujuan meningkatkan partisipasi masyarakat setempat dalam pengelolaan ekowisata secara berkelanjutan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipan dan analisis dokumen terkait pengembangan ekowisata Marimbunna. Responden utama adalah masyarakat setempat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendampingan masyarakat Tikala telah memberikan kontribusi positif dalam pengembangan ekowisata Marimbunna. Pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui pelatihan partisipan dan program pendidikan telah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam pengelolaan ekowisata. Selain itu, adanya perencanaan strategis dan pengembangan produk wisata lokal telah memberikan nilai tambah bagi destinasi tersebut. Pendampingan juga memainkan peran penting dalam membangun kerjasama antara masyarakat setempat, pemerintah daerah, dan sektor swasta. Kerjasama ini diperlukan untuk mencapai tujuan bersama dalam menjaga keberlanjutan lingkungan, mempromosikan kebudayaan lokal, dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Meskipun demikian, penelitian ini juga menyoroti beberapa tantangan yang dihadapi dalam pendampingan, seperti perubahan perilaku masyarakat, manajemen konflik, dan keberlanjutan sumber daya alam. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya lebih lanjut dalam mengatasi tantangan ini agar pengembangan ekowisata Marimbunna dapat berlangsung secara optimal. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan ekowisata berkelanjutan di daerah sejenis, serta menjadi referensi bagi pihak terkait dalam merancang program pendampingan masyarakat yang efektif dalam konteks pariwisata lokal.

Abstract

 The purpose of this study was to determine the difficulties that students face when listening to TOEFL Preparation Tests at the English Study Program, FKIP UKI TORAJA. The participants in this study consisted of 12 students from the 8th semester of the English Department at FKIP UKI Toraja. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method and collected data through interviews. The data was then analyzed using three main stages: data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. After analyzing and discussing the findings, it can be concluded that 8th semester English Department students at UKI Toraja encounter various difficulties when listening to TOEFL Preparation tests, which can be categorized into three main areas. Each category presents different challenges. Regarding the comprehension of listening materials, students face difficulties with complex grammatical structures, understanding every word in spoken discourse, interpreting the meaning of lengthy spoken texts, and encountering unfamiliar vocabulary. Additionally, students encounter difficulties related to listening itself, including anxiety, deducing the meaning of unknown words, lack of concentration, unclear pronunciation, difficulty with retention, losing focus, and listening without transcripts. Furthermore, students also face obstacles related to the physical setting, such as poor quality cassettes or discs, inadequate equipment, and background noise.

Abstract

Bimbingan belajar bahasa Inggris dan calistung merupakan program peserta kuliah kerja nyata tematik (KKN-T) di kelurahan Tikala kecamatan Tikala kabupaten Toraja Utara. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini diikuti oleh anak –anak sekolah dasar yang berdomisili di Tongkonan To’kayu dan Tongkonan Penanian. Jumlah peserta belajar bimbingan bahasa Inggris ada 15 anak, dan peserta calistung ada 30 anak yang dibagi dalam dua tempat yang berbeda. Pengajar bimbingan bahasa Inggris dilaksanakan oleh dosen dan mahasiswa dari program studi bahasa Inggris, dan pengajar untuk calistung adalah dosen dan mahasiswa peserta Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematik (KKN-T). hasil dari kegiatan tersebut anak –anak mampu menguasai berbendaharaan kata dalam bahasa inggris dan memperkenalkan diri dengan sederhana, dan anak- anak lancar membaca dalam bahasa Indonesia, dapat menghitung dan menulis dengan baik.

Abstract

The objective of the research is to find out how is the level of readiness of PLP 2 UKI Toraja students to become competent English teachers based on the four teacher competencies. This research refers to the four standard teacher competencies, namely pedagogic competence, professional competence, personality competence, and social competence. In this study, researchers used quantitative research methods. The instrument used was a questionnaire in the form of a Likert scale. Data processing used descriptive percentage analysis, which is a description of the questionnaire consisting of 23 statement items. Answers from the questionnaire were obtained from 92 students from SMPN 1 Rantepao as respondents. Based on the results of this research, it was concluded that the readiness of PLP 2 UKI Toraja students to become competent English teachers was classified as very ready based on the four teacher competency standards. This can be seen from the achievement results of the data calculations obtained, it was found that the pedagogic competence of PLP 2 UKI Toraja students was 85.22%, professional competence obtained a percentage of 87.88%, personality competence with a percentage of 91.41%, and social competence which received an assessment from students with a percentage of 85.48%. The results of all these percentages fall into a very ready level of readiness with a range (71%-100%) to become a competent teacher candidate.

Abstract

The purpose of this study finds out how the experience of students who participated in the Teaching Campus Program. Researcher conducted this study used a qualitative design, purposive sampling method with interview techniques by obtained data from 3 students of the English Language Education Study Program. The result of this research is, students participating in the Teaching Campus program gain real experience in managing classes and applying learning strategies according to student conditions. They learn to create a conducive classroom atmosphere, handle distractions wisely, and build good communication with students. In addition, they also develop students' potential through non-academic activities. The teaching strategies used vary, but all aim to improve the effectiveness of learning and student understanding.

Abstract

Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PkM) "Harmoni Ekowisata Marimbunna" berfokus pada pengembangan kearifan lokal melalui pendampingan masyarakat Tikala di Kabupaten Toraja Utara. Program ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan potensi budaya dan alam setempat dalam pengembangan ekowisata yang berkelanjutan. Kegiatan ini meliputi pelatihan manajemen ekowisata, pengenalan praktik pertanian berkelanjutan, serta pengembangan produk wisata berbasis budaya. Melalui metode partisipatif, masyarakat dilibatkan dalam setiap tahap, mulai dari perencanaan hingga implementasi. Pelatihan yang diberikan mencakup keterampilan dalam pengelolaan lingkungan ekowisata, pemasaran, dan pembuatan kerajinan tangan. Dengan demikian, masyarakat tidak hanya meningkatkan pengetahuan mereka, tetapi juga memperkuat keterampilan yang dapat mendukung pendapatan ekonomi lokal. Hasil program menunjukkan peningkatan minat wisatawan untuk berkunjung, serta peningkatan pendapatan rumah tangga masyarakat dan kreatifitas. Selain itu, pelestarian budaya dan lingkungan juga tercapai melalui promosi nilai-nilai kearifan lokal. Keberhasilan PkM ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model bagi daerah lain dalam mengintegrasikan pendidikan, ekowisata, dan pengembangan masyarakat.  Abstract. The Harmoni Ekowisata Marimbunna" Community Partnership Program (PkM) focuses on developing local wisdom through the active engagement of the Tikala community in North Toraja. This program aims to leverage local cultural and natural resources for sustainable ecotourism development. Activities include training in ecotourism management, introducing sustainable agricultural practices, and developing culture-based tourism products. Using a participatory approach, community members are involved in all stages, from planning to implementation. Training sessions cover skills in managing homestays, preparing local cuisine, and crafting traditional handicrafts. This not only enhances their knowledge but also strengthens skills that can support local economic income. Results from the program show an increased interest from tourists and a rise in household income within the community. Additionally, cultural and environmental preservation is achieved through the promotion of local wisdom values. The success of this PkM is expected to serve as a model for other regions in integrating education, ecotourism, and community development. Through this harmonious approach.
