Abstract

This study aims to ascertain and analyze the effect of community behavior on the mangrove natural resource management strategy in Kota Pari Village, Pantai Cermin District, Serdang Bedaga Province. Conservation efforts on mangrove forests have significant significance in relation to the function and role of mangroves, as they comprise physical, biological, ecological, and socioeconomic roles. The management of mangrove forests in multiple regions has had a substantial impact on the ecosystem. As a result, mangrove forest areas must be investigated in detail, in depth, and as soon as possible, as it is common knowledge that various development activities conducted in mangrove forest areas have resulted in a number of quite complex and concerning problems. According to the findings of this study, community behavior has a positive and significant impact on policy strategies. Positive and significant effects of community behavior on the management of mangrove forest natural resources. The management of mangrove natural resources is impacted positively and significantly by policy strategies. Through Policy Strategies, community behavior has a positive and significant impact on the management of mangrove forest natural resources. On the basis of the findings of this study, it is anticipated that residents of Kota Pari Village, Pantai Cermin District, Serdang Bedagai Regency will be able to increase the income of low-income residents.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the contribution of participatory management to improving community welfare through BUMDes in Pematang Serai Village, Langkat. Qualitative case studies are conducted through interviews and observations. The results show that participatory management is significant in empowering BUMDes and improving community welfare. Active community participation in the decision, planning, implementation, and evaluation of BUMDes has a positive impact on income, access to public services, and quality of life. This research makes an important contribution in understanding the role of participatory management in improving welfare through BUMDes. Relevant policy implications are outlined to support sustainable BUMDes and welfare in Pematang Serai Village.

Abstract

This study analyzes the role of participatory management in improving community welfare in Pematang Serai Village. Through a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews, this study found that community participation in the decision-making process and implementation of local development programs contributed significantly to improving welfare. Such participation builds community belonging, involvement, and capacity, and strengthens relationships between village government and communities. However, challenges faced include lack of awareness, cultural and structural barriers, and limited resources. Recommendations were given to strengthen community capacity, increase understanding of the benefits of participation, and strengthen cooperation between village government and communities. This research provides guidance for policymakers in designing inclusive, participatory, and sustainable development programs.
