Abstract

This research explores the soil characteristics in Sikulikap Plain, Sibolangit, North Sumatra, with the aim of assessing its agricultural potential. The plain is known to have Andosol, Alluvial, and Peat soils, collectively creating a fertile environment with high water retention and abundant nutrient availability. The analysis includes parameters such as pH, soil texture, nutrient content, water availability, and soil biological properties. The research results indicate that the soil pH in Sikulikap falls within the range of 6-7, creating optimal acidic conditions for plant growth. The granular soil structure in the A horizon and sandy clay soil texture provide good physical support for agriculture. The biologically rich soil with diverse living organisms adds ecological value to sustainable farming. These findings provide a crucial foundation for sustainable agricultural planning in Sikulikap Plain, with optimal potential for plant growth and increased agricultural production.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the population density in Limau Manis Village, Medan Sinembah Village, and Ujung Serdang Village in Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency, using a qualitative approach. The research problem is to understand the factors influencing the distribution of population density in these three villages. The methods used include primary data collection through surveys and interviews with village officials and local communities, as well as secondary data collection from planning documents and village maps. Data analysis was performed using thematic analysis techniques and spatial data integration using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The results show that Limau Manis Village has the highest population (23,083 people) due to good accessibility, adequate public facilities, and greater economic opportunities. Medan Sinembah Village has a population of 9,242 people, with density variations influenced by access to natural resources and infrastructure. Ujung Serdang Village has the lowest population (5,086 people) due to challenging geographical conditions and limited public facilities. The recommendation of this study is to improve infrastructure and public facilities in low-density villages to enhance the quality of life and balance the population distribution.

Abstract

Space debris is increasingly becoming a global problem that has the potential to threaten the sustainability of space exploration and satellite operations. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of international policies and regulations that have been implemented in handling space debris, and toidentify gaps and challenges in their implementation. The research method used is a literature study, with an analysis of policy documents from international organizations, academic journals, and reports from related research institutions. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman approach, including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that although there are a number of international agreements, such as the Outer Space Treaty 1967, the Liability Convention 1972, and the Registration Convention 1975, there is no effective law enforcement mechanism in cleaning up space debris globally. The lack of binding regulations and coordination between countries in mitigating space debris are major challenges that must be overcome. This study recommends the establishment of clearer international standards and an effective implementation system to ensure the sustainability of space exploration.

Abstract

Kampuang Minang Tourism Village in Nagari Sumpur, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra, is a culture-based tourism village that highlights the potential of local wisdom as the main attraction. This research aims to analyze this potential and identify challenges and opportunities in its preservation. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that cultural elements such as rumah gadang, bajamba meal processions, and traditional arts have been successfully packaged into an authentic tourism experience through the concept of family homestay. However, the development of tourist villages faces obstacles such as limited infrastructure, low participation of the younger generation, and perceptions of injustice in the management of Pokdarwis.
