Abstract

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) continues to mutate in Indonesia. The Omicron variant tends to have more cases but research related to this topic is still difficult to find. This study aimed to determine the risk factors for exposure to the Omicron variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This study used a cross-sectional study design from SARS-CoV-2 surveillance data of the DKI Jakarta Health Office with a research sample of 3,480. Data analysis using Chi-square test followed by logistic regression test. The results found that men had a 1.82 higher risk of contracting the Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 than women. Elderly and adults had a 16.99 higher risk and 4.71 higher risk of developing the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant compared to children (p-value <0.05). People with a history of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and cardiovascular had a 3.06, 3.05, and 4.56 higher risk of being infected with the Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 than those without a history of these comorbidities. It was concluded that the variable age is the riskiest factor. Vaccination does not reduce the risk of possible exposure to the Omicron variant, especially for those who are elderly, have a history of concomitant diseases, and are male.

Abstract

Background: The incidence of HAIs in developed countries is estimated at around 1/100 hospitalized patients, while in developing countries it is around 10/100 patients. Patients receiving mechanical ventilation accounted for 86% of HAI cases. As many as 9-27% of patients with ventilator installation have the possibility of suffering from VAP. Objectives: This study aims to describe the implementation of VAP prevention and its effectiveness in health care services. Research Metodes: This type of research is literature study through the search engines ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and PubMed. Results: Of the thirteen articles obtained, there were six articles discussing the implementation of VAP prevention in health services, six articles discussing the effectiveness of VAP prevention in health services, and one article discussing both. Conclusion: Prevention of VAP in health services is carried out through surveillance and bundles. This prevention is very effective in reducing VAP cases in health care facilities if the implementation is optimal

Abstract

Abstract: During adolescence, appear perceptions and images of the ideal physic or body shape that should be possessed. Emotions and feelings in adolescents are not optimal, so there is a sense of indecision, anxiety, and fear. Both of these things are problems because they can cause a negative personality in adolescents which will have a long-term impact if not overcome immediately. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge among students in one high school in Depok regarding toxic relationship and body image. Community service was carried out to 86 students using the Communication, Information, and Education (IEC) method directly to the students. The results of the pretest and post-test tests illustrate a p-value of 0.000, which means that the education is useful for increasing students' insight into toxic relationship behavior and body images. As a suggestion, it is hoped that there will be a follow-up program for students to strengthen the implementation of education about toxic relationships and body images.
