Abstract

This study examines the evolution of behavioral accounting research over a 17 year period (2007–2023). The main focus of research includes theme classification, research methods, research topics, and number of articles. The approach used is descriptive qualitative, and data is collected through a literature search system or literature review. The results show that the articles were evaluated and taken from journals that have a Sinta index or accreditation of Sinta 2. This can be summarized as follows: (1) Theme Mapping: the topic of Moral Resoning has 9 articles, the topic of Theory of Planned Behavior has 6 articles, the topic of Locus of Control there are 6 articles, the Fraud topic has 6 articles, the Machiavellian topic has 4 articles, the Love of Money topic has 2 articles, (2) Research Method Mapping: the Survey/quiz topic is the most common method with 3 articles, the Theoretical/non-empirical topic is 3 articles that use this method. (3) Research Subject Mapping: Accountant or auditor topic 10 articles, Academic or student topic 9 articles, Unknown subject topic 9 articles, Employee or stakeholder topic 4 articles, There are no articles related to bankers and taxpayers/investors out of 30 reviewed articles. (4) Mapping the Number of Articles: Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) topic with 72, Locus of Control (LoC) topic with 91, Fraud topic with 70, Machiavellian Nature topic with 13, Love of Money topic with 66 , the topic of Moral Resoning with a total of 92. These findings provide an in-depth picture of the focus, methods, and research subjects in the behavioral accounting domain during the period studied. This information can serve as a basis for identifying trends and future research directions in this area.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the ability of Unimed FMIPA Mathematics students in solving absolute value inequalities with the help of the Python program. The problem faced is that students often have difficulty solving inequality problems manually. The purpose of this research is to see the effectiveness of using Python in helping to solve absolute value inequalities and how it affects understanding of mathematical concepts. The method used was qualitative research with a sample of 20 fifth semester students of the Mathematics Study Program, FMIPA, Medan State University. Students are given absolute value inequality problems to solve manually and with the help of Python. Data was collected through online tests and questionnaires using Google Form. The research results show that the majority of students feel that using Python is very helpful in solving absolute value inequalities. As many as 95% of students consider Python to be effective in making it easier to solve mathematical problems and increasing understanding of the concept of absolute value.

Abstract

This research focuses on the relationship between reading and mathematics abilities using PISA 2022 data. The importance of literacy and numeracy as the main foundation for student development is the starting point for this research. In the midst of Indonesia's challenges in building a culture of literacy, especially at the elementary school level, this research explores the relationship between reading and mathematics abilities through analysis of PISA 2022 data. Secondary data from the PISA 2020 survey and regression analysis techniques are used to explore this relationship. The analysis results show a significant correlation between these two abilities, with a strong and positive correlation coefficient. These findings indicate that students with good reading skills tend to have better math skills. In conclusion, it is important to build literacy and numeracy from an early age at the elementary school level to prepare students to face more complex material. This research suggestion includes the development of integrated literacy and numeracy programs, updating the mathematics curriculum, teacher training, strengthening parental involvement, use of educational technology, as well as further research to understand the factors that influence the relationship between reading literacy and mathematics ability.

Abstract

This study aims to apply the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method to identify the main factors influencing poverty in North Sumatra Province. Poverty rates in this region show significant variations among districts and cities, influenced by differences in social, economic, educational, and basic facility availability. The data used in this study include eleven indicators related to population, education, health, access to basic services, and economic conditions. All variables were initially normalized to ensure they had comparable scales, then PCA feasibility tests were conducted using MSA, KMO, and Bartlett's test, which indicated that the data were eligible for further analysis. The results of the PCA revealed three main components explaining a total of 69.91 percent of the variation. The first component represents regional population and economic factors, with the largest contributions coming from population density, open unemployment rate, and per capita expenditure. The second component reflects household living conditions, such as access to clean water, adequate sanitation, and health complaints. The third component describes the educational dimension through indicators of the population aged at the primary and secondary school levels. These findings indicate that poverty in North Sumatra is influenced not only by economic factors but also by the quality of basic services and education levels among the population. Therefore, this research is useful for policymakers at the central and regional government levels to consider the factors influencing the increase in poverty in North Sumatra.
