Abstract

Domestic violence is a common problem that affects individuals of different ages, social backgrounds, and economic circumstances. This includes a wide range of economic, sexual, emotional, and physical violent behaviors that occur in close relationships, such as marriage or family connections. This counseling activity will be carried out in Tista Village, Tabanan Regency in May 2023. Domestic violence counseling seeks to increase understanding of the psychological impact of domestic violence on people, especially victims and perpetrators of domestic violence, as well as society. The purpose of this outreach is to educate the public, especially victims, about the psychological impact of domestic violence, such as anxiety, grief, PTSD, and other psychological problems. In addition, the public is taught about the need to prevent domestic violence and specific prevention methods to reduce its impact. This outreach initiative seeks to help educate the perpetrators of domestic violence to be able to modify their behavior by explaining the negative psychological implications of their actions. The results of the final observations show that there are still many opportunities for similar activities that are necessary and important to be carried out to reduce the number and impact of domestic violence.

Abstract

Religious symbols or terms are often used in political contests in Indonesia, including in Bali. In Tabanan Regency, under the leadership of Regent I Komang Gede Sanjaya and Deputy Regent I Made Edi Wirawan, the vision is articulated as “Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali melalui Pola Pembangunan Semesta Berencana menuju Tabanan Era Baru yang Aman, Unggul, Madani (AUM)”. The use of the acronym “AUM” is particularly interesting, as in Hinduism, the term “AUM” symbolizes the divine power of God with its three manifestations: Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. This study aims to: 1) Examine the meaning of the acronym “AUM” in the communication between the Tabanan Regency Government and the community; 2) Identify the impact of using the acronym “AUM” in such communication; and 3) Analyze the social ethics of using “AUM” in Tabanan Regency. This research used Semiotics Theory, Mass Communication Effects Theory, and Social Morality Theory. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach, with informants selected through purposive sampling. The findings indicate that the use of the acronym “AUM” in communication carries both political and philosophical significance. It is perceived to have positive impacts. From a social ethics perspective, the use of the acronym “AUM” has not yet received formal criticism, but further socialization is encouraged. In conclusion, the use of the acronym “AUM” by the Tabanan Regency Government is having positive impacts. However, broader socialization is necessary to clarify the distinction between the political aspect of “AUM” as an acronym and “AUM” as a sacred symbol in Hinduism. Abstract

The development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) is an important milestone in Indonesia's history. The existence of the IKN is expected to encourage inclusive and equitable economic growth throughout Indonesia. The support of the Indonesian people for the IKN is significant. The public obtains information about the IKN through the mass media. The purpose of this study was to examine the way online media presents news regarding Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) and to analyze the primary subjects emphasized in the news coverage. The study examines the news subjects related to IKN on the online media platforms Detik.com and Kompas.com utilizing the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) model and Robert M. Entman's framing technique. The subject analysis yielded 15 primary topics for each media channel. Detik.com mostly covers topics related to politics, investment, IKN construction projects, and accommodation. On the other hand, Kompas.com mainly focuses on investment, the IKN Authority, IKN construction projects, and infrastructure. These themes are the most significant subjects in IKN news coverage across all media platforms, based on their weight and probability. The news framing of Detik.com and Kompas.com is generally characterized by a neutral or favorable tone, to promote public understanding, acceptance, and endorsement of the development of IKN. Favorable media coverage can assist the administration in garnering popular backing and guaranteeing the triumph of the IKN project. Both media outlets present a positive framing on IKN's future and highlight the significance of infrastructure projects in attracting additional investment.
