Abstract

The phenomenon of variations in slogan language in advertisements in Malacca district offline uses various languages ​​consisting of Latin, Tetum, Dawan and English. The seller's aims and objectives are conveyed briefly and concisely through the slogan and advertisement. The phenomenon of variations in advertising language will have an impact on people's understanding of offline site advertisements. The aim of this research is to determine the various variations of language used by sellers in promoting their merchandise. The method used in this research is qualitative description. The results of this study show that the phenomenon of using advertising language in Malacca district, especially on shopping sites, is increasingly diverse and gives rise to the phenomenon of language variations. However, in reality, not all people understand the forms of language variation and the function of language variation. In this research, variations in advertising language were identified, for example English, slang or social languages. The functions of language variations identified are informative function, directive function and expressive function. The advertising language used by online shopping sites should be able to provide clear information and be easily understood by the public so that goals can be achieved.

Abstract

The Meaning and Message of Moral Values ​​in the Hela Keta Traditional Ritual According to the Marriage of the Oepikan Tribe, As Manulea Village, Sasitamean District, Malaka Regency". The problem in this study is how the meaning and message of moral values ​​in the hela keta traditional ritual according to the marriage of the Oepikan Tribe, As Manulea Village, Sasitamean District, Malaka Regency. The purpose of this study is adjusted to the research problem, namely to describe the initial story of the philosophy of the hela keta traditional ritual in the marriage ceremony at the Oepikan Tribe Marriage, As Manulea Village, Sasitamean District, Malaka Regency. The method used in this study is the Qualitative method. The data collection techniques used in this study are interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data collection, data reduction, data assessment, and data interpretation. The results of the study show that the hela keta traditional ritual began in ancient times, various tribes lived in the place now called the Oepikan Tribe Marriage, their livelihoods were farmers. As a result of the many tribes inhabiting the place, the stock of food supplies has also run low. As a result, war was inevitable, the aftermath of the war was lasit fekan (broken relationship), this also had a major impact on the marriage system at that time. Aware of this, the tribal leaders sat down and discussed to find a solution to this problem, and the hela keta traditional ritual was created. The meaning of the hela keta traditional ritual is as a cleansing or purification from the curses of ancestors who fought in ancient times, and also the moral value message that can be taken from the hela keta traditional ritual, namely that the hela keta traditional ritual can repair and also unite the two large families of the tribe that had been broken up due to war.

Abstract

More than 191 million people currently use social media, more over now we have entered the digital generation. The era of technology meets daily needs. It is imposible that among the 139 are children in pre-adolescence. In the pre-adolescent period, children experience many change, both physical and psychological changes in their growth. Which can influence the child’s language behavior. Therefore, this research aims to see how far the influence of social media on teenagers language behavior. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data collection methods using listening and skill methods. As well as data collection techniques using recording and note-taking techniques. The data source in this research is field note data as well as interviews with the child. The result of qualitative research are needed by researchers this is in-depth related information the influence of social media on pre-teen children. Such as a lack of communication with the surrounding environment or use language that is not standard or appropriate.

Abstract

The purpose of this writing is to find out the extent of the application of semantics in Indonesian language learning at Sinar Pancasila Private High School. Apart from that, this research also provides a specific picture of the problem of semantic learning in schools. Data is taken from sentences delivered by a teacher who are interested in semantics. Data sources were taken from the semantics of books written by experts and interviews with fellow Indonesian language teachers at Sinar Pancasila Private High School. The research results show that there are several semantic meanings used in Indonesian language learning, namely, affective meaning, denotative meaning, descriptive meaning, emotive meaning, figurative meaning. Apart from that, several efforts were also found that could overcome semantic learning problems in schools.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the naming of business places in Umakatahan. The theory used in analyzing naming is Chaer’s theory (2009). This study uses a qualitative research model. The data collection process carried out in this study used the documentation method, followed by the observing and nothing method. The data in this study are presented in a descriptive form or informal method. Based on the result of this study it was found that from 5 data on the naming of bussines places in Umakatahan, there were grammaticalmeanings. In addition, the naming process that occurs in 5 data on the naming of business premises in Umakatahan, produces 5 data based on inventors or makers, data based on new names, data based on place of origin, data based on uniqueness and new naming. So, it can be concluded that the naming of business places in Umakatahan is dominated by the process of the inventor or maker because most of the business places use the name of the owner or maker.
