Abstract

The use of renewable energy sources (RE) has become a primary focus in global efforts to reduce dependence on conventional energy sources and mitigate their negative environmental impacts. In Indonesia, strategic steps have been taken through the implementation of the National Energy Policy (KEN) and the General Plan for National Energy (RUEN) to promote the adoption of RE. However, current achievements indicate that the target of a 23% energy mix by 2025 requires further efforts. Responding to the global challenge of climate change, Indonesia has strengthened its commitment through the ratification of the Paris Agreement, which aims to significantly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. As a case in point, the province of Banten has initiated collaborations among farmers, Steam Power Plant (PLTU) operators, infrastructure developers, and funding institutions to optimize the use of biomass as a promising renewable energy source. Ensuring effective implementation through cross-sectoral collaboration is crucial to ensuring clarity in roles and responsibilities among all involved parties. Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) have been identified as an effective method to guide the implementation of this collaborative model. This discussion examines cross-sectoral collaboration strategies in GHG emissions mitigation in Banten Province, considering the diverse stakeholder involved. A deep analysis of stakeholder roles, proposed mitigation strategies, and the dynamics of their relationships provides valuable insights for environmental sustainability and policymaking at the regional level. The complexity of stakeholder interactions underscores the importance of integrating public policy with private sector innovation and academic knowledge to support the transition towards a sustainable economy in Banten Province.

Abstract

Product management and marketing strategies in the context of developing social forestry enterprises at the Sasaka Patengan Village Forest Community Institution (LMDH), South Bandung Forest District, West Java, are examined in this study. The primary focus is on the characteristics of farmers, marketing structures, and the efficiency of the marketing channels employed. This research aims to analyze the management and marketing of social forestry enterprise groups. Respondent selection utilized snowball sampling, with data analysis conducted through descriptive analysis. The study found that agroforestry product marketing occurs through two main channels: (1) direct sales to collectors and (2) through retail traders. While the first channel enables quick sales, the second channel offers higher cost-effectiveness and marketing margins. Marketing efficiency analysis using marketing margin and farmer's share methods indicated that the second marketing channel is more efficient in adding value to farmers. The research underscores the importance of developing social forestry enterprises by enhancing product management and marketing, including through increased involvement of Social Forestry Enterprise Groups (KUPS) in organizing and facilitating marketing channels.

Abstract

Abstract

Social forestry is a sustainable forest management system in state forest areas carried out by the community to improve welfare, environmental balance, and social dynamics. This study aims to analyze the management system and the impact of social forestry on the community members of Forest Village Community Institution (LMDH) Wono Asri, at Forest Management Unit (KPH) Kediri. The descriptive statistical analysis based on public perception is used as the analysis method. A sample of 61 respondents was selected using the Slovin formula. Forest management included land preparation (100.00%), tillage (traditional system 95.08%), planting (100.00%, maintenance (weeding 100.00%, fertilizing 95.08%, pest and disease control 96.72%), harvesting (100.00%), and marketing (100.00%). Economic impact: farmer household income sources increased by 57.48%. Social impacts: changes in the use of forest products, decreased utilization, and development of resource use due to limited resources, increased community participation (95.08%), public perception of institutions (54.10%) and new jobs (100.00%). Environmental impacts: forest has been dominated by agroforestry plants (100.00%), low biodiversity (54.10%), environmental services that do not change much (60.66%), low potential disturbances and threats (70.49%), the existence of mitigation practices by the community due to the high number of natural disasters (49.18%). Farmers whom members of LMDH Wono Asri only sell their harvests, so there needs to improve the community's economy through processing of forest products.
