Abstract

Mura Village is one of the villages located in Brang Ene District, West Sumbawa Regency. This village has 3 hamlets, namely Buin Banyu hamlet, Mura hamlet, and Tegaran hamlet. Most of the people of Mura Village work as farmers, with the greatest potential, namely rice and corn cereals. There are several fundamental problems faced by Mura Village, including limited Human Resources (HR) as indicated by the low productivity of land in the village. Poor household waste management is evidenced by the large amount of organic waste that is wasted every day. The lack of stretching of the creative economy sector is evidenced by the small number of MSMEs in the village so that the people in the village tend to be more consumptive. Before going into the field, KKN-T students are first provided with knowledge of regional potential and community empowerment materials so that program implementation can run well. The existence of directives from the government regarding health protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic made community empowerment programs a little different from usual. Several community empowerment programs include utilizing yards for food security and developing local commodities for food security. The results obtained during the Community Service Program had a very positive impact on the people of Mura. Students are also able to teach residents how to cultivate in buckets (Aquaponics) and about 70% of the village community applies this cultivation method, in the same program there is also distribution of seeds to the dasa wisma gardens and the culmination of a competition to use the house yard and dasa wisma garden which followed by the dasa model homestead group in the village. Furthermore, the students held a workshop on the processing of local commodities in the form of cassava which is processed into mocaf flour which has high added value, the results of the workshop were directly applied by the village government through PKK women to make Mura village a center for making mocaf flour. Abstract

Indonesia is known as a coffee producer in the world, with no less than 300,000 tons of coffee beans being exported abroad, both Arabica and Robusta types. Most of the coffee plants are planted and cultivated around the forest. Mitra Hutan Lestari is a Forest Village Community Institution located in Jambewangi Village, Sempu District, Banyuwangi Regency with an area of lap forest of not less than 7000 hectares, and one of the commodities that has not been utilized optimally is coffee. The purpose of this community service program is to educate and explore coffee processing in social forestry. Community Institutions Forest Village Partners Sustainable Forests in Banyuwangi Regency. The approach employed in education is the provision of equipment for processing coffee, from coffee's harvest till it is served. Investigation of coffee plant varieties is done by visiting social forestry sites and identifying the varieties of coffee plants in forested areas. For all training participants, the pre-test and post-test procedures were used to evaluate the training. The general description of participants in the education and exploration training on coffee processing was that they liked coffee drinks with a bitter taste for the male participants, and female participants preferred coffee drinks with a combination of milk and syrup with various flavors. The results of the pre-test and post-test analysis showed that there was an increase in participants' knowledge, starting from the procedures for harvesting coffee cherries, processing coffee cherries into coffee beans, assessing the value of defects in coffee beans, and roasting and brewing coffee. Training participants through exploration activities has enabled them to distinguish the types of coffee that exist in social forestry areas. It has been possible to increase the knowledge and enthusiasm of the training participants to develop coffee in the social forestry area thanks to the existence of educational training and exploration of coffee processing.

Abstract

Batutegi PFMU has much potential for NTFPs, which have been developed in coffee, palm sugar, and honey. The marketing of NTFPs needs attention because what often happens is inefficient marketing, so it doesn’t provide additional income for the community. This study aimed to identify marketing channels, functions, and efficiency based on marketing margins, farmers’ share, and profit-to-cost ratio. There are three marketing channels for coffee, two for palm sugar, and three for honey. The marketing functions performed by farmers, collectors, wholesalers, exporters, KUPS, cooperatives, and resellers are exchange, physical, and facilitation functions. Channel 1 palm sugar is an efficient marketing channel with a marketing margin of IDR 13,724.19 per kilogram, a farmer’s share of 100%, a profit ratio of 15.03, and marketing channel 1 honey with a marketing margin of IDR 224,112.70 per kilogram (Trigona honey), and IDR 124,494.35 per kilogram (Cerana and Dorsata honey), a farmer’s share of 100%, and profit ratio of 10.21 (Trigona honey) and 6.47 (Cerana and Dorsata honey).

Abstract

The use of renewable energy sources (RE) has become a primary focus in global efforts to reduce dependence on conventional energy sources and mitigate their negative environmental impacts. In Indonesia, strategic steps have been taken through the implementation of the National Energy Policy (KEN) and the General Plan for National Energy (RUEN) to promote the adoption of RE. However, current achievements indicate that the target of a 23% energy mix by 2025 requires further efforts. Responding to the global challenge of climate change, Indonesia has strengthened its commitment through the ratification of the Paris Agreement, which aims to significantly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. As a case in point, the province of Banten has initiated collaborations among farmers, Steam Power Plant (PLTU) operators, infrastructure developers, and funding institutions to optimize the use of biomass as a promising renewable energy source. Ensuring effective implementation through cross-sectoral collaboration is crucial to ensuring clarity in roles and responsibilities among all involved parties. Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) have been identified as an effective method to guide the implementation of this collaborative model. This discussion examines cross-sectoral collaboration strategies in GHG emissions mitigation in Banten Province, considering the diverse stakeholder involved. A deep analysis of stakeholder roles, proposed mitigation strategies, and the dynamics of their relationships provides valuable insights for environmental sustainability and policymaking at the regional level. The complexity of stakeholder interactions underscores the importance of integrating public policy with private sector innovation and academic knowledge to support the transition towards a sustainable economy in Banten Province.

Abstract

Product management and marketing strategies in the context of developing social forestry enterprises at the Sasaka Patengan Village Forest Community Institution (LMDH), South Bandung Forest District, West Java, are examined in this study. The primary focus is on the characteristics of farmers, marketing structures, and the efficiency of the marketing channels employed. This research aims to analyze the management and marketing of social forestry enterprise groups. Respondent selection utilized snowball sampling, with data analysis conducted through descriptive analysis. The study found that agroforestry product marketing occurs through two main channels: (1) direct sales to collectors and (2) through retail traders. While the first channel enables quick sales, the second channel offers higher cost-effectiveness and marketing margins. Marketing efficiency analysis using marketing margin and farmer's share methods indicated that the second marketing channel is more efficient in adding value to farmers. The research underscores the importance of developing social forestry enterprises by enhancing product management and marketing, including through increased involvement of Social Forestry Enterprise Groups (KUPS) in organizing and facilitating marketing channels. Abstract

The development of the management of social forestry areas uses the approaches of agroforestry. Selecting the right plants to combine with this approach creates challenges in matching plant species to the environmental conditions where they will grow. This study aims to explore the factors considered by farmers when choosing plant species for cultivation. The research employs purposive sampling of three Social Forestry Business Groups (KUPS) that have received official decrees (SK) to manage social forestry. These groups situs slot777 terpercaya have implemented agroforestry approaches and combined various plant species. Data was collected through direct observation, interviews with respondents, and literature review. Socio-cultural, ecological, and economic factors significantly influence farmer’s decisions in selecting plant species for cultivation. The data indicates that economic factors account for 40%, ecological factors 33%, and socio-cultural factors 27% in choosing suitable plant species for cultivation
