Abstract

The impact of technological developments in the era of globalization is extraordinary. A clear example is in children's education, where children's activities are not well controlled and children often commit crimes and other bad acts. From this we can understand that the implementation of character education in the era of globalization is very important in forming good children's character. This research aims to examine in detail the theory of character education in the view of KH. Ahmad Rifa'i. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach which aims to obtain theories about character education according to KH. Ahmad Rifa'i. The primary sources in this research are several tarajumah books by KH. Ahmad Rifa'i. Meanwhile, secondary sources are books related to this discussion, such as articles, magazines and other literature. According to KH Ahmad Rifa'i, character education can be done through cleansing the heart through worship, habituation and training in forming commendable morals/people with character. To create a person with character, a person must practice the qualities of pinuji wolu, which include: asceticism, qonaah, tawakal, patience, mujahadah, blessing, gratitude and sincerity. The aim is to bring peace of mind, which is obtained because of the attitudes and inner activities that have become a person's character and personality, such as gratitude, sincerity, blessing, qonaah and so on. There are also things that are obtained through struggle and hard work, such as patience in riyadloh and mujahadah against lust.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the knowledge identity crisis faced by pesantren in Indonesia as a result of developments in the digital era. The research was conducted at three major pesantren: Futuhiyyah Mranggen, Al-Asy’ariyah Wonosobo and Al-Munawir Yogyakarta. Data were collected through participatory observation, interviews with pesantren managers, including Kiai, administrators, and teachers, as well as documentation of relevant materials. The findings reveal that the knowledge identity crisis in pesantren during the digital era manifests in several ways: an excessive learning burden on santri unrelated to the core competencies of pesantren knowledge, a decline in santri’s interest in studying traditional pesantren knowledge, and the institutional development of pesantren that has become disoriented from their foundational knowledge identity. To address this crisis, pesantren must refocus their learning programs to align with core competencies, reorient their knowledge systems to be adaptive and responsive to global needs, and restructure their institutions to remain rooted in the core knowledge identity of pesantren.

Abstract

One of the legacies of the Indonesian scholars is akhlaqi tasawuf. Since Walisongo, Sufism has permeated and colored the spread of Islam in the archipelago. From various works left by the Indonesian scholars from generation to generation, the spirit of akhlaqi tasawuf was passed down from generation to generation. The work of Syekh Sholeh Darat and Syekh Ihsan Jampes can explain how this tasawuf dialogue with the local community so that it can be easily carried out. By tracing this akhlaqi tasawuf, it will be an entry point to mapping the genealogy of thought, the historical basis and the epistemological formula in recognizing religious national identity, particularly in relation to morality. This is important, because so far the national identity has been getting away from the values that have been ingrained in the archipelago. In this paper, it is emphasized that the Islamic tradition in Indonesia has become one of the shapers and pillars of today's national identity. This tradition has left various socio-cultural legacies that need to be tracked and found, especially the transmission paths of Islam's entry into the archipelago. This socio-cultural heritage has become one of the foundations of the massively constructed identity/identity of the Indonesian nation, which later became the foundation of Indonesian Islam today, namely tolerance, moderation, peace and openness. The heritage of the Indonesian Ulama also influences the extent to which the relations and interactions of the Ulama form a network of knowledge, knowledge and culture which is passed on to the following generations. There are two figures and works or manuscripts that are the focus of this paper, namely Sheikh Sholeh Darat Semarang and Sheikh Ihsan Jampes, who have brought an understanding of Sufism akhlaqi al Ghazali in strengthening Indonesian national identity on the basis of manners and politeness.
