Abstract

The waste problem continues to increase in volume, so it needs to be handled properly. In addition to causing floods, if there is garbage in the waterways, it will also be dangerous, especially plastic waste, because it is composed of chemicals that are difficult to decompose, so it is harmful to the environment. For this reason, it is necessary to process plastic waste into crafts that have selling and aesthetic value. The purpose of this activity is to provide education and motivation about the dangers of plastic waste and the benefits if made into handicraft items, as well as coordinate residents to clean up garbage that can cause annual flooding. This activity was carried out in the form of counseling and direct river cleaning activities. The main target of this activity is the residents of RT 04 RW 10 Semper Timur Village. Based on the pre-test results, 35.25% of residents did not know the benefits of plastic waste made into crafts, and 64.75% already knew. From the results of cleaning activities carried out by residents of RT 10 RW 10, the river becomes clean, the water flow is smooth, it does not cause odor, and besides that, it can also minimize environmental pollution so that residents can be more concerned about environmental cleanliness. With the creation of plastic waste utilization, residents have more knowledge about business opportunities that can be created through creativity and skills to improve their welfare.Permasalahan sampah terus semakin bertambah volumenya, sehingga perlu penanganan yang benar. Selain mendatangkan banjir jika terdapat sampah disaluran-saluran air, juga akan berbahaya terutama sampah plastik karena tersusun dari bahan kimia yang sukar diuraikan sehingga berbahaya bagi lingkungan. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan pengolahan sampah untuk mengubah sampah plastik menjadi kerajinan yang memiliki nilai jual dan estetika. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memberikan edukasi dan motivasi tentang bahaya sampah plastik dan juga manfaatnya jika di buat menjadi barang kerajinan, serta mengkoordinir warga untuk membersihkan sampah yang dapat menyebabkan banjir tahunan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dalam bentuk penyuluhan dan kegiatan langsung melakukan pembersihan sungai. Sasaran utama dalam kegiatan ini adalah warga RT 04 RW 10 Kelurahan Semper Timur. Berdasarkan hasil pre-test, sebesar 35,25% warga belum tahu manfaat sampah plastik dibuat kerajinan dan 64,75% lainnya sudah tahu. Dari hasil kegiatan pembersihan yang dilakukan oleh Warga RT 10 RW 10, sungai menjadi bersih, aliran airnya sudah lancar, tidak menimbulkan bau, selain itu juga dapat meminimalisir pencemaran lingkungan sehingga Warga dapat lebih peduli terhadap kebersihan lingkungan. Dengan kreasi pemanfaatan sampah plastik, warga lebih punya pengetahuan mengenai peluang usaha yang dapat tercipta melalui kreatifitas dan keterampilan tersebut untuk meningkatan kesejahteraannya.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the potential and performance of micro hydro power plants in the Ciasihan River, Bogor, with a measured water discharge of 0.95 m³/s, a net fall height (Hn) of 6.47 m and an average water velocity in the turbine of 0.76 m/s. This study involves the design of a turbine with dimensions of the outer diameter of the runner (Do) of 301 mm, a specific turbine speed (Ns) of 338 rpm, a radial rim width of 52.374 mm, and a total of 18 blades. The analysis shows that the potential for hydraulic electric power reaches 64.052 kW, providing an initial picture of the efficiency of converting water kinetic energy into electrical energy in a local context. To understand the performance of the power plant more comprehensively, a simulation was conducted using the Annual Energy Production Hydrograph Programming method. The simulation results show that this power plant can produce annual energy of 400.32 MWh. These findings indicate that the micro hydro power plant in the Ciasihan River has significant potential in meeting the electricity needs of isolated rural areas. This research makes a substantial contribution to the development of renewable energy in Indonesia, with a focus on the optimal utilization of locally available water resources and the application of micro hydro technology for energy sustainability.
